Very cute read, but the insta love was not my favorite. The characters felt very flat and at times I wasn’t sure why I should want them together other than the whole point of romance novels.

Last book of 2021. Cute and spicy romance. Enjoyable even though some of the baseball terms were incorrect.

I am a huge fan of books that include sports and romance, so reading the premise I was super excited for this read. It was a pleasant read, it was a little fast-paced and I found myself skimming instead of actively reading. If someone is in the mood for a light read then this would be fantastic! I can definitely see an audience absolutely loving this… but I never fully “bought in” but that may just be me!

I really enjoyed this romance. It was a cute meet, had some tension between the lovers as well the difficulty the characters had to overcome individually. I appreciated that this story showed time passing and it wasn't just a week- or month-long love at first sight and they are married a few months later.

Gretchen, a rule-book following sommelier, sees her favorite baseball player at the airport and buys him coffee on a whim. Josh, who was just moved down from the majors to the minors, is feeling down and this chance meeting with Gretchen seems like just the thing to get him out of his depressed funk. The connect instantly and decide that an uncharacteristic weekend of fun is just what they need. But, when the weekend is over, neither are ready to for their fling to end.

I seem to be in the minority on this one, but I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I hoped I would. The storyline was a little unrealistic in that after two days together, they are in love and ready to turn their lives upside down to make things work. Then, for two people who are so in love, and pining over each other for months, they go back and forth about being together. Also, the language was a turn off for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Wattpad Books for allowing me to read a free ARC of the book in exchange for my honest review.

Cute and fun story! Gretchen was a very relatable character, and the chemistry between them was very sweet.

Well, I can't really say that I loved it but I did like it. There was the instant chemistry/connection between them that I liked. However, the separation seemed unnecessary. And Josh should've tried harder to get Gretchen's forgiveness and Gretchen shouldn't have forgiven him easily. I mean where was your self-respect, woman? Ugh. I really liked the beginning though and how Josh decided to retire instead of being stubborn about the situation. I felt sorry for Kevin. Poor guy! Overall, it was an okay read.

I wanted to like this book. However, there is no character build up. No connection between the characters. They meet and hook up and then there's a whole insta love going on which is way too unbelievable.

Thank you to Netgallery for this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Unfortunately, this is a Did Not Finish at around 20%. I did not realize when I requested this book that it was published by Wattpad, but reads like a book that would be published by Wattpad. I got through the whole part about Josh (famous baseball player) and Gretchen (secret fan who buys him a coffee) meet, fly first class together, and decide they don't want to part. It was weirdly paced and could not sense the instant attraction.

After reading the description of this book, I was very excited to read it. However, it fell a little short for me. There are some books that can have smut and it is enjoyable to read because it was well written. I sort of felt like these characters were very one dimensional. Overall, it wasn’t a bad story, it just wasn’t for me.

Do you need a romance with lot of sex and longing? This is for you. Starts with the hot weekend fling, ends with an HEA. You can probably guess where this goes, but it's still fairly satisfying if you're looking for that style of romance. Who wouldn't want Gretchen to wind up back with her hot baseball player?

When Gretchen sees her favorite baseball player in the airport it is too good of an opportunity to ignore but little does she know that buying him a cup of coffee will turn into so much more, This book was aggressively fine. It is always cute to read about someone meeting their celebrity crush but when it comes down to it there is not much to this story that caused any major feelings in me either way and it is not something that I will likely remember much about. It was a pleasant enough read,

This book was a little too much sex for me. Everything in this book was based on lust and the relationship felt immature. I liked Josh's character, but we did not really get to know Gretchen at all. I really did not like Gretchen's best friend. She was extremely obnoxious and her relationship with the Earl seemed pointless and kind of an afterthought to throw into the book. This book lacked character development and a decent plot. It seemed like the author was just excited to write about sex.

What is this book about? We meet Gretchen in an airport flying to Las Vegas for a wine convention, but while Gretchen is waiting to board the plane she sees one of her favorite baseball players, Josh. She decides to shoot her shot and buys Josh a coffee. The two get talking and bond throughout the plane ride. Whenever it's time to part ways they just can't say goodbye and one thing leads to another. Josh and Gretchen end up spending the weekend together and gaining feelings for each other. However, the two live completely different lives, in different cities, will they find their happily ever after together??

I want to start this review by saying this book is very instalove. Gretchen has had a little crush on Josh for a long time so I suppose we should expect it on her end, however, these two supposedly fall in love in two days?? This book should be categorized as extreme instalove. I feel like not much really goes on in this book. I did not know that this was first a wattpad book, and I have nothing against wattpad or the stories you read there, but if I were to start this book there, I would have given up after the first chapter. It was just wholly unrealistic.

The dialogue in the book was very repetitive. It was Gretchen talking in her head questioning something about her relationship with Josh, and then poof what do you know, it was like he could read her mind and brings up exactly what she was thinking. And do not even get me started on Sharla. Sharla was I suppose meant to be the comedic relief friend in this book, which I suppose would be fine but the author makes her dumb. We all don't have a dumb best friend, she did Sharla dirty. Gretchen and Josh aren't really likable characters either. They don't have any substance really, they aren't even really described to be honest, so I couldn't picture anyone as them either. Now the main question you want answered: is it spicy?? A little, it does have a few moments but tbh they aren't worth reading the book for.

Overall, I felt like I just couldn't really like this book because of just how unrealistic I found it. People don't fall in love in two days, take a two month break without any contact, and then suddenly say they're in love. I'm sorry, that's just not it. I really did have high hopes for this one because the cover??? It's beautiful, everything I want to see with my romance books, and also a sports romance? I eat those up. I just didn't like this one.

This book has such a great premise, but it dove way too fast into instalove, which can be a fun trope, but it did so by rushing the plot by telling us everything that characters were thinking rather than weaving it into the plot. Then there were the characters themselves, they felt one dimensional as did their dialogues. The kernel of a good book was there, but it never quite took off.

Gretchen usually plays it safe until the time she runs into her favorite baseball player, Josh, in the airport. He looks miserable so she decides to buy him a coffee. The chemistry between them is undeniable from the moment they start chatting. What turns into a one night stand just might become something even more.

This is a steamy one! I got completely sucked into Gretchen and Josh’s mess of a romance that I stayed up way too late reading. Thank you Netgalley and Wattpad Books for the egalley in exchange for my honest review.

Unfortunately this book was just definitely not for me. The premise sounded really promising, but it just ended up not working for me. I ended up skimming the entire book and missing most of the conversations and finding that I didn’t really care...? I’m so sad because this seemed like something I would really enjoy, but ultimately it wasn’t.

What is better than a sweet, enjoyable romance? Combining that story with two enjoyable subjects: wine and baseball! Joshua, a professional baseball player, is a bit down on his luck in his game when, perhaps, he has the most lucky encounter of his life…a chance meeting with Gretchen, a sommelier, who happens to be about to board the same plane to Vegas. He just so happens to be her favorite baseball player, though this is not divulged upon first meeting. The two have almost instant chemistry and this story follows them initially through a few days in Vegas, but later through several months as their lives take typical twists and turns. I enjoyed the writing style, the delicious descriptive scenes, and the way the characters fell in love. I do recommend this as it is fun and enjoyable, offering a welcome escape from anything that has you down! Fair warning…it gets a little spicy in scenes…and there is some language. Nothing over the top, but rather the perfect accompaniment to their romance!

Thank you NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for a review,

The premise had great potential. I am a huge baseball fan and I was very excited to read this book. This was definitely an insta-love romance and needs a bit more development. I just noticed it was a WATTPAD type book because there wasn't alot of character development.
