This was a sweet, but yet spicy sports romance. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the “instant love” I would of liked to see a little more of each character before they met. I liked the characters connection and how they just fit so well together.

This was not an enjoyable experience for me. I'm going to have to say the writing was not there. I have no problem with insta love or sports romances, I read them in spades. But the writing is a big part of the book and keeping you invested in the story and characters. That wasn't here. These character had no chemistry which is a big problem with this being a romance book. I didn't care about them at all. I can't say if it's just this book or the author themselves. Overall ( and I feel bad for saying it) I don't really recommend this book, especially if your an avid romance reader.

So i read after a long time this book definitely worked in bringing me out of the reading slump. The author wrote the characters were well. I loved the way how the characters dealt with their problems. Overall the book was fun and sweet. I thoroughly reading this book that i stayed up till 2 am to complete this book. Looking forward to read more books by the author.

This one started out a little to insta love-y for me but I actually appreciated the journey the characters went through by the end of the book. The conflict made me face palm, but in the grand scheme of romance books it was believable and, imo, fitting. All in all it was a cute, sweet read!

Fun and flirty romance. It was light, but well written, enough interest that I read it in one afternoon. Caroline Richardson hit it out of the park with this one.

Thank you NetGalley for providing this copy. The opinion provided in this review is solely my own.

This is my first book by this author and before deciding to read it I read a few of the reviews. What I took away mostly was the formatting issues. They are there yes, but once I was invested in the story I honestly didn’t care at all. Then another reviewer said that there was too many sex scenes. Well unless they just escaped the convent I think that’s a bit much. There are sex scenes, they are not too overly graphic and they fit in with the whole storyline and not added for story filling.
Now I will step off my high horse and talk about my experience reading this book. I thought the writing was outstanding, the characters were fabulous with real problems that they worked through as adults. I enjoyed reading Josh & Gretchen’s story so much I would gladly read more books from this author. Thank you Netgalley for a fantastic read.

I did like the insta-love aspect of this book. Since I love smut, the fact that they were already doing it by 17% had me cheering. So the chemistry in this book was great! The story, though....I don't know. It was kind of all over the place. Just the fact that Josh and Gretchen never actually talked about the fact that she was such a huge fan of his seemed strange. And that there was hardly any talk about either of their families, and they only met one of each of their friends? It seemed like the entire story took place in a very tiny bubble and I wanted it to expand. It never got deep enough for me to really connect.
So, it was quick read, and it wasn't bad, per se. It was just...fine.

Cute story but it was a miss for me unfortunately. I see potential in this book but the character and the plot was not there for me when reading it but I did finish it.

I requested this book because I really liked the synopsis, but unfortunately it was a miss for me. It is a cute story though and some might like it.

Sometimes you've got to leave your heart on the field. Gretchen Harper has always been practical. Dependable, solid, predictable. She’s never taken risks, and she’s especially never bought coffee for gorgeous professional athletes in airports. That is, until she meets her favorite baseball player on the worst day of his career. Being sent to the minor league is just the first of Joshua Malvern’s many worries—he’s got an injury that won’t heal and his entire career and future are on the line. When a beautiful woman offers him coffee, that simple kindness is exactly what he needs to lift him out of his funk. He asks her to join him in first class, not expecting to end up joining her in bed. What starts as a one night stand ends up holding the promise for so much more. And while stepping out of her comfort zone has never been Gretchen’s style, for a chance at true love she’ll have to decide whether she’ll swing for the fences, even if it means striking out.

Insta-love (insta-lust) + sport + "one night stand but somehow I want more?" + miscommunication tropes in one book. Heroine - Gretchen Harper
Hero - Joshua Malvern
It's fine. It's pretty bland so it's bit hard for me to finish this book. It's okay and please do read if you're into the tropes above.
Thanks Netgalley for the ARC

This was a quick, cute story that the synopsis caught my attention. I really wanted to love this but just couldn't. The conflict in this could have been better. Personally, I dont care and the insta-attraction and miscommunication in this. This one was may be a favorite for others. Just not a favorite for me.

3.5 Stars rounded up... If you are looking for a light insta love wattpad romance then this is for you! I say that not as bad thing because sometimes that is exactly what you need. I was definitely needing something light to read so this one was really enjoyable to me. It doesn't get too deep and the characters are pretty likable. I would def recommend for a nice palate cleanser in between heavier books.

I enjoyed reading Out of His League very much. I literally read it in one sitting because this novel was extremely addicting and I couldn’t put it down. I love to read anything with instant romance and duo perspective. I enjoyed the relationship between Josh and Gretchen. Their relationship was very steamy and fun. I loved how Josh was an MLB player because baseball is my favorite sport. I absolutely loves the romance and I will definitely read anything Caroline Richardson publishes in the future. Thank you so much Netgalley for giving the opportunity to receive a copy.

Just really not for me, I liked the whole Canadian thing - I love a book based in Canada. But I just felt the chemistry wasn't there, the characters weren't exactly likeable, and it didn't draw me in. Not thrilled with this and probably wouldn't recommend or read again.

This was a really fun read! I love books about famous people and regular people. This was a fun read. I do wish we had more about the actual development of the relationship between Gretchen and Josh, not just their physical intimacy.

I normally really enjoy a sports romance so I was excited to start this one. But I ended up being pretty disappointed.

I don’t love an instant love type of romance. Attraction, sure. But in love after a day? I can’t buy into it.

I didn’t love the characters either. I wanted Gretchen to be stronger and stick up for herself more. Josh was ok but I don’t feel like we learned much about him.

And there just wasn’t a whole lot happening in the book. I don’t know how it managed to be so long without much of a plot. I ended up skimming often.

Gretchen and Josh will always be one of my favorite stories. I've always been a fan of sports romances so when I saw this one, I knew I had to have it and I had to read it. I love that Gretchen took a chance and was bold for a few moments and it paid off in a way she never expected. Their story and their development was adorable. I love that he calls her his "firecracker". I loved the banter and playfulness between Josh and Gretchen and the other characters. There was also some spicy parts of the book that I was not expecting but loved. If you're looking for a cute, spicy, and quick read, then I definitely would recommend this one.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for providing me with an ARC of this story in exchange for my honest opinions and feedback.

I really wanted to love this book but I just didn’t.

This book follows Gretchen who is a wine Sommelier and Joshua who plays professional baseball. They meet when she notices him at the airport and gives him a coffee as he looks down. After talking for a few minutes in the airport, he then upgrades her to a first class seat and they hit it off, going on to spend almost the whole weekend

Firstly, I didn’t connect with the characters, I found Gretchen to be really annoying and have no backbone. I liked Josh’s character however I didn’t really feel emotionally involved with either of them.

It was very instalovey which is a trope that I generally avoid. I also hate the miscommunication trope and the fact that she forgave him within minutes of seeing each other again.

I hated the formatting of the book however this may be because it was an arc, I just found it hard to read and like it was never ending.

I hated the fact that I felt as though nothing was happening throughout the book and I ended up feeling like I was just scanning over a lot of it after the 70% mark.

Tropes
- Instalove
- Sports romance
- one night stand turned weekend?
- Miscommunication

This was a quick read! I'll never say no to a sports romance, but this one was a little on the bland side for me. I couldn't connect super well to the characters, and didn't find myself invested in the result of their love!

Thanks to Wattpad and Netgalley for this earc
