Out of his league is super fun and cute romantic book with a baseball romance!

The FMC sees her favorite baseball player on the worst day of her life and ensues the meet cute between them! The book was so fun, sweet, heartwarming, fast paced, I enjoyed their dynamic and the book itself felt liked it moved quickly which I enjoyed. It’s very light and fun and nothing heavy on drama or angst so it’s perfect for those that just want a cute fun book

I’m very appreciative to Netgalley and Wattpad Books for the arc of OUT OF HIS LEAGUE but unfortunately it wasn’t the book for me. I wasn’t invested in the characters nor their romance and felt there was no real character development or solid plot. I do enjoy a book with a good amount of steam, but not just for the heck of it which was the case here. I don’t foresee myself being able to recommend this book to others looking for a romance read.

This is actually pretty damn cute and I enjoyed it more than I expected to. It read a lot like I imagine fan fiction would, but I liked it all the same. It started out on the slow side, but after a short while I was sucked in.

This was an ok read. It's a cute and fun romance you could finish in a day. If you are looking for a fun and light rrad, this one is for you.

Thank you netgalley, author and publisher for the free copy in exchange for my honest review.

This one just missed the mark for me. As much as I wanted to love it, I just couldn't get behind the love story! I typically am a fan of one night stand romances, but this one wasn't it for me.

I requested this book because Gretchen sounds a lot like me, honestly. Her character description really hit home for me. I'm also a sucker for a good meet-cute, and the airport is such a fun setting for that because of the possibilities. I liked both characters, but for me, this story was missing some depth. I wanted more of pretty much everything: interactions, dialogue, romance, etc. It's very lighthearted and very easy to read, but at times it felt too simple. This would be something I'd recommend to some of my senior girls, though, if they were looking for a romcom to take with them to the beach for Spring Break or Summer!

This book was awesome. Great summer read. Gretchen has always been a fan of baseball and when she meets one of her favorite players, Josh Malvern, at the airport she is drawn to him. They end up spending the night together thinking that is all it will be. I will say that it was a very fast paced book with a hot and steamy romance. I think that it was a good book, but not great. Everything happens so fast and then the book is done. Thank you NetGalley.

If you’re into wattpad reads then this is the book for you!
There was insta-lust and it got hot & heavy right away.
I think the misunderstanding and conflict was slightly annoying and the fact it was created by the mc’s friend..

If you want a quick, steamy, low angst and sports romance(baseball) this would be perfect for you!

Thank you to NetGalley and Wattpad books for this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The book follows an MLB star sent down to the minor leagues and a sommelier and baseball lover who meet while headed to Vegas. The story is cute and fluffy, it's got insta-lust, medium steam, and good banter. Unfortunately, despite the good chemistry developed between the two main characters, the subplots and side characters really dragged the story down for me. I did enjoy the Canadian ties, as well as all of the baseball!

Overall, an okay beach read, good for fans of the insta-lust trope.

Book: Out Of His League
Author: Caroline Richardson
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Review~
This book is about sports romance, fangirl, and a baseball player.

Gretchen is a huge fan of Josh who is an MLB player. It all started with a god cup of coffee and by then their chemistry was already really strong.

This book was really cute the characters played a really good roll in the book. Josh’s agent really annoyed me he did not care about what Josh wanted he only care about what would make him to most money.

Overall this book was a quick read I really enjoyed reading it. I would definitely recommend reading it. I loved how Gretchen best friend had her back no matter what!!

Thank you to Netgalley and Wattpad Books for the opportunity to read this ARC. This honest review was based off my experience reading an ARC, which in no way biased me.

I was drawn into this book with the cute cover, and sports romance premise. I have been on the look for a good sports romance, and I am still on the look out for it. This felt rushed and very surface level. There wasn’t much of the plot to connect with. This was very big on the insta love, celebrity/athlete trope and if you are into both of those things, consider picking this up.

Overall this gets a 2 star rating which is a ‘meh’ to me. I don’t have strong feelings toward or against this book.

While I was excited about the plot of this story, it did not quite live up to my expectations. The story felt a bit flat. However, the chemistry between the characters was great!

Thank you to NetGalley, Caroline Richardson and Wattpad Books for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was awesome and I really really enjoyed the entire thing. This was really quick paced, fun and so so easy to read. It was very romantic and had real life issues about long distance relationships and other relationship issues that we can all relate too. I will definitely be waiting for the next novel from Richardson.

I couldn't finish this book, and had to DNF at 20%

I was really excited to read this since I enjoy romance, live in Toronto, and am a huge baseball fan. However by 20% there were numerous things I wasn't enjoying about the book and I couldn't continue. The romance was insta love, but not written in believable way, and that made the whole thing feel very uncomfortable for me.

Also, as a baseball fan the baseball parts seemed to be poorly researched. A lot of the times that specifics about baseball were mentioned they seemed to be incorrect to me. The whole premise surrounding the main male character being sent down didn't seem to be accurate. If he was a veteran player who had such a big fan following it seems unlikely that his contract would include options to be sent to the minors. It's also mentioned that he would sometimes go down to the minors to 'take a breather', which is not something that happens! He says that he had a 'respectable' batting average of .210, which is NOT good (average in the past few years is between .240 and .250). Also seems weird that he was made to be a star left fielder, since that is the weakest defensive outfield position, so if you aren't hitting and you're in left field you probably aren't providing a whole lot of value to the team!

While I tried to look past the baseball details, it just became too irritating. If it's going to be a main part of the story, then make sure it's done well! This combined with the insta love romance trope, I just couldn't enjoy this book unfortunately.

I had high hopes for this book, but it fell flat. I did not like the characters and did not feel there was any of the necessary banter the characters in a rom com need. And it was just not a good story line. I don't know how I managed to finish it, and I wish I hadn't.

I liked the story and wished there was more story and less sex. I wonder too if this is more an editorial problem than it is an author problem. The relationship between Gretchen and Josh seemed a bit rushed, but their connection seemed genuine. Again, could this be an editorial problem. I loved the Canadian aspect of it which isn't something you see often. Definitely worth the read and great cover!

A 'how will they make it work,' very sexy read featuring a fading baseball player and a sommelier who learns to embraces risks. This book delivers on what it sets forth in the description, which I appreciate. Perfect for a beach or vacation read, when you want to jump in with a hot scene. These two are sweet characters who are primed, hot, and ready for each other.
Thanks for the ARC!! Buzzed through this one in an afternoon.

This was a cute fun read, definitely less to it than the premise suggested but still an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon. The relationship was a little too sudden for me, but I didn’t mind that much. The baseball discussions were interesting. 3 stars.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I started this book while snuggled in watching baseball, which has become a new favorite for me. Baseball and romance, what more could I ask for in a cute book? I really wanted to enjoy this book, but I do not care for the conflict and resolution. I feel like characters in their late 20s, early 30s, should be able to communicate with each other, not through other people. There were also a few cringeworthy word choices at the beginning that really didn’t sit well in the moment. Ultimate, I’m choosing to stop at around 50-60%. Miscommunication or no communication is a big no for me in books. Thanks to NetGalley and Wattpad for a chance to read and review the ARC before release!

A cute, romantic and charming romance full of heart, loveable characters and insta-love vibes, but perhaps a little too instant for some.
