I am huge into baseball, so this was a fun plot to dive into. It is an easy, breezy read and I love the instant connection between the MC's. It can be hit or miss on instant connections. Sometimes they just feel forced, but this one was natural and made sense!

Not a huge fan of the language or the explicit content. It was easy to skim over, but closed door romance would have done well here! Five stars for plot and characters, 2 stars for explicit content. 4 overall!

I love a good rom-com book and definitely enjoyed the characters in this book. Gretchen seems to live by the rules, but throws those out when she is at the Toronto airport on her way to Las Vegas and sees her favorite baseball player Josh, "Mr. Sunshine". One cup of coffee changes Gretchen's whole life in a span of 48 hours.

While some of it seems not likely to happen in real life and you have moments of saying no way would that ever happen. However, you never know it may happen. I was definitely rooting for Gretchen and Josh the whole way through the book!

A chemistry driven insta-love sports romance about an injured MLB player finding comfort in the arms of a professional sommelier where the two have a chance meeting at the airport over a cup of coffee. Sexy and full of swoon moments, this is an easy read that will warm the cheeks and keep the steam lovers happy!

When Gretchen Harper sees her favorite MLB player disheartened at the airport she buys him a cup of coffee in hopes of cheering him up. The two hit it off immediately and end up spending the entire day together. Even though both of them thought it was a one time deal, they can’t seem to stop thinking about each other.

I have a lot of thoughts about this one. I loved the overall premise and the pace of the novel, but the storyline focused mainly on the hooking-up and I would have loved to see more of their conversations. This is probably my favorite read by an author from Wattpad, but the story is missing some elements of character development. I loved the steaminess, which is what kept me interested, but I needed more of Joshua and Gretchen’s background or an element of tension that made the story more exciting. Overall, a cute and quick hopelessly romantic read.

This book was a disapointment. It could use major editing and I see the potential. I was so hopeful after seeing the cover. I was very excited to read a baseball romance, but sadly this one was not it.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.

This was cute! I loved the premise, but despite this being an insta-love story, it felt far too rushed, even for insta-love. I thought it had sweet elements, but it lacked a greater depth from the characters and the romance that I crave from my romance books. Cute idea, just lacks execution.

2/5

Did not finish, I really did not like it at all. I just could not finish it for some reason. I was really looking forward to reading and then i was disappointed.

I enjoy sports romances, but this one didn’t have much sports in it. Yes, the hero is an athlete, but he’s injured and has been sent down to the minors. So his sports career is first a question of the physical distance it would put between him and his love interest and then a question of how to deal with retirement. Plus there is the issue of his fandom and whether he can trust a beautiful woman who buys him a cup of coffee in the airport when she sees how down he seems about flying out to join the minor league team.

Their romance is instant and involves a lot of insta-lust on both sides. They become immediately attached to each others over basically two days and both feel that they’re in love with each other. They face complications and overcome them. And in between all of that they have a lot of sex.

I actually found myself more interested in the secondary couple whose romance is probably coming in a second book than I was with this book’s couple. I guess I’m just not a fan of insta-love/lust books that try to convince the reader that these two are soulmates after one weekend.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Very cute book! The way Gretchen and Josh met is so cute, every girls dream when meeting their celebrity crush. They had many cute and heart warming moments but I felt like the story was fast paced. Although we got enough from the characters I feel like we could have gotten a little bit more. It was a very cute story though!

The cover is what absolutely sold me because it's literally everything but it was a tad bit of a letdown. I wasn't aware this was on Wattpad first which honestly shout out to the author for getting this published. Kudos to them!

Miscommunication is a trope that I normally tend to stay away from and having it mixed with insta love was something I wasn't used to and took me a little longer to be able to get into the book. I think this is such a super cute idea of a plot but I just couldn't get myself invested into the romance of the two main characters.

I just thought it moved too fast to be able to really see any chemistry between the characters develop.

This just wasn't for me but it will probably be someone else's cup of tea.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for a review!

This was a fun read! I really thought it was well written, and I loved the characters. I definitely see a sequel with this one. Fingers crossed.

I unfortunately, as hard I tried, couldn't get into this book. It had a great start but fell very flat early on and the whole format of it was extremely hard to read. The banter with the characters was cute but this was an "instalove" that did not work.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This book had the potential to be so much more than what it was. Caroline Richardson had a great idea, but it just didn’t come together in the end, in my opinion.

I tried not to be bias, as I tend to hate “insta-love” or “insta-lust” stories. The beginning felt as though Gretchen was an obsessive fan and Josh was just looking for a distraction, which would have been FINE—if they had had any sort of character or relationship growth throughout the book. The main conflict was a minor miscommunication, which they didn’t even talk about, just decided to forget—because they both overreacted!

I had a very hard time believing there were actually emotions behind the characters. If you’re looking for a cute story without too much depth, then this would be perfect! The side-story romance of Sharla and Kevin stole the show. Is there a book about them? Because I would read that.

I really wanted to love this book, but I’d have to say the best thing about it is the cover. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

I'm sure this how we would all like a meeting with our crushes to go. They definitely don't waste any time (just like our fantasies) but trying to keep it relatable it could have slowed down a notch especially since the goal isn't just a one night stand. A bit more build up and storyline would help but I didn't hate it, just needed more.
I received an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley for my honest review.

I usually don't care much for the love at first sight with a famous person trope .. but this book was really cute! You can feel the chemistry between Gretchen and Josh and the obstacles they had to face were pretty realistic and not far fetched. I finished this book in one sitting! Easy and fun read.

This was very fast paced book. I am not the biggest fan of the insta-love trope and this definitely has it. The first 50% felt very rushed, and because of this I didn't feel a big connection to the characters. We didn't get much of their back stories and who they were before they met each other. I did really enjoy the second half of the book, I got hooked when the conflict started and it improved a bit from there. It truly was a cute story, it just felt like the characters relationship lacked substance because it was mainly focused on s*x from the very first chapter. Sometimes I had to read things several times because I could not understand what was being said. Still there were some very cute moments between the characters, and I enjoyed the double pov, since this was the only way to get to know Gretchen and Josh.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with this arc.

Some of this I loved.... I wish I could leave the review at that.

I can see an immediate attraction happening at an airport. Even perhaps an instant love. That the part of the story I loved.

There was a LOT of added unecessary conflict that didn't even really have any thing to do with our main characters. It's almost like the author was like jail (check), sickness (check), best friend love.... And so on.

Overall this was just meh....

A fun insta love sports romance by a debut Canadian author. I really enjoyed this insta love, dual perspective love story between an MLB player sent down to the minors and the sommelier he meets at the airport on the way to Vegas. The two have a hot one night stand and then have to figure out if they can make a relationship work despite their very different lives. Enjoyable and steamy and definitely recommended! Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my advance review copy!

This one is a pure feel good in every sense! I loved it! Gretchen and Josh are so sweet and perfect together.

Normally I don’t like the miss communication trope but with it happening so early in the book and with the author skipping the time they spent apart I really enjoyed it this time.

I love that we get to read from both Gretchen and Josh’s point of view. And I love that their love for each other are there from the beginning.

This book is for when you want a cute and a little steamy romance to pick you up from a bad mood. It really is pure feel good in the best kind of way. Reading it left me with a good happy feeling.

I would have liked to receive the book in a better format. Like a real ebook. I found that the text was way to small and quite tiring to read on my phone. The kindle version just didn’t work with made this book harder to read than it should have been.

Thank you NetGalley, Wattpad Books and author for an ARC of this book.
This review may contain SPOILERS.
My first thought as I started was that it was too much of an instant love thing which isn't necessarily bad but not really for me . it starts when Gretchen meets her favorite baseball player Josh in the airport
HOWEVER,
34% into the book, i started liking it with the problem arising between them and i wanted to see how the problem is dealt with.
Again, there was so much potential to how they overcome the issue but without addressing the problem they jump straight into smut.
there was no palpable tension between Josh and Gretchen even though they had a conflict between them. the conflict was also a bit mediocre which had potential too.
the extra stars i may give is for Sharla because i REALLY liked her and i would LOVE to see her and Kevin's book.
i would love to see more of this author's work. <3

"Don't wait. If it feels right, then do it, figure out the future later. Go watch the sunrise."

Out of His League is a story of two people throwing caution to the wind for one day. Allowing themselves to put their guards down & get swept up at the moment. But what was supposed to be one night turns into something neither Josh nor Gretchen were expecting.

Gretchen Harper is a Sommelier who isn't much of a risk-taker. She prefers the predictable, dependable things in life. Well, that is till she finds herself buying a cup of coffee for her favorite MLB player Joshua Marvin. Joshua keeps his eyes on the ball, never letting his guard down, and definitely never letting a fan get close... that's it her.

If you are looking for a flirty, give you all the feels, kind of sports romance, then look no further. Grab your favorite wine and cozy up with Out of His League. You will swoon over Josh with his mischievous eyes & charming smile. Gretchen will warm your heart with her compassion and sweet demeanor. You will find yourself rooting for our OTP as a simple cup of coffee turns into the best decision Gretchen has ever made"

I absolutely adored this book. The chemistry between Josh and Gretchen is instant. Although I normally enjoy slow-burn, sometimes insta love hits just right. The journey through their relationship and figuring out what it is they have felt real and honest. Their attraction may have been instant but there was a journey to actually trusting and being with one another. I felt like Richardson did a great job with the secondary characters as well. I was invested in each of their parts of the story. I especially hope we get to read about Sharla & Kevin one day!!!

If you enjoy sports romances & cute reads this is a must!
