This was an excellent entry into the post apocalyptic genre! I wasn't aware going in that this was an omnibus version of the first three books in the series, and that really could have been a down side if I hadn't liked it. As it stands, I made steady progress through all three and very much enjoyed them! This book has been hyped as a "sexy thriller" and I think this type of fast-paced action is key to that description. Things are always happening and there are mini adventures around every corner.

I enjoyed most of the characters, especially the heroine and the romantic lead. I was a bit unsure about Frankie at first, as she was the sort of character who could easily very into weak and helpless territory. As it stands, I liked the character growth we had from her over the course of these books. I also enjoyed the slow-burn nature of the romance. I liked that it took time for this love story to fully develop and it felt in line with the rest of the story we were getting.

I also enjoyed the world-building. This felt like a scavenged world and most things that they ran across felt believable. That's always a risk with this type of book, that it will become so sensational as to not feel believable any more.

Overall, I definitely enjoyed this book and I think it will appeal to romance fans looking for a slow-burn love story set in a dangerous, thrilling world.

This was an intriguing one. The concept is pretty solid. I enjoyed the elements being played here. As for the characters, although they are pretty in depth, I would have love it more if they were more progressive the same goes for the consistency.

I loved the compact, detailed world the author created. This plot was airtight. There is so little wasted space in this book. Every page was WORKING. I really believe in these characters and can’t wait enough to see what happens next? So excited!

I’m not a huge scifi fan but when I was younger I did love dystopian!! And this book was really entertaining overall!!

the world building is post apocalyptic which is so fun I love these kinda plots!! It’s heart wrenching but balanced with humour and romance I was sold!! Volume 2 was a little boring to me but THE SLOW BURN WAS KILLING ME!!!!

This is my new favourite series and can’t wait for the next book!

You can’t help but feel like you’re living with these characters and feeling what they feel as they have heartfelt wins and soul crushing losses.

I am so obsessed with the characters and the dynamics between them!

I really wanted to like this book. At times I really did actually enjoy it, but then I’d just get bored. It was very on and off for me. This was three books combined and it had the content of one. I read it on Kindle, but I’m assuming they are pretty short books. I found a lot of things cringy.

The one thing I absolutely loved was the relationship between Frankie and Auden. Found family is one of my favorite tropes and this series has it in spades. There’s just something missing for me. I won’t be continuing, but I do see why so many people seem to enjoy it.

DNF 33%.

I did enjoy this book, but at times made me uncomfortable which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The story was very reflective of the COVID-19 pandemic and showcases a possible world whereby the pandemic kills everyone it comes into contact with. I did enjoy the characters and the storyline, and enjoyed the portrayal of the hypothetical problems and social constructs of a group of survivors.

This had strong Walking Dead vibes that I enjoyed and I honestly love the characters and the way they work to overcome the challenges that they face. Unfortunately I DNF'ed this book as I found it too long and very slow-paced, and whilst the story is enjoyable I could push past the pacing of the book.
I will possibly revisit this book one day, when I have recovered from my COVID-19 pandemic trauma.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for giving me a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review!!

I feel that post-apocalyptic books can be incredible or terrible, which can sometimes leave them a little overlooked. However, I am glad to say that After the plague was a delightful read and not one, you'll want to skip!

I think the primary factor for me with this book was the characters. Imogen wrote the characters in a detailed/exciting way, which amazed me. There are many dynamics between the characters, which takes away the repetitive nature you can sometimes get within a story. I love how the different perspectives still managed to grab my interest whilst containing their personalities.

Let's talk about the slow burn for a minute...I love a slow burn, despite it frustrating the hell out of me! This book is more than a romance; however, the romance is still incredibly written. The relationships within this story are great and a major favourite of mine.

I could not stop reading, so I recommend giving this book a go. However, before going in, know there is drug use, kidnapping, murder, hostage abuse, gun violence and incredibly graphic sexual representation!

DNF after 1st Book.

After reading the first book in this collection, I was wholly and entirely underwhelmed and I feel no desire to keep going. Even after "emotional punches" I just didn't feel anything. I was bored the entire time. I was going to continue reading but after reading some reviews I have absolutely no desire to.

Frankie fell extremely flat, and it seemed like her only personality was her husband. And Yorke? We barely learn anything about him other than that he's horny. I don't care about either of them. At all. Auden was cute and the dog was cute but two characters being cute will not make me feel any need to finish a three book collection.

This book feels like it was written in the midst of COVID by someone who was extremely bored and unable to leave their house. Nothing against that but after living through that pandemic myself, I don't want to read a boring book about basically the same thing. The author makes grim jokes throughout that the readers are supposed to find funny but I did not laugh once.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC copy in exchange of an honest review.

This is a series of three novellas about a dystopian event, one of the best I've ever read. I had already read the first novella when it was first released, so was really pleased to read the whole set. It is scary not only because of the pandemic, but because of how quickly law and order fell apart. It only took a few weeks in this book.

The setting is initially in Washington, D.C. A flu like virus is killing people all over the world, a virus that seemed to come out of nowhere. Frankie and her husband Jimmie try to leave the city but find that all roads out are blockaded and guarded by soldiers. They were directed to return home by a soldier who looked sick himself. Days later, Jimmie has died from the virus, and Frankie has buried him in their backyard. She finds a stray dog in her backyard, and takes him in. She also finds a mute child who also joins her.

When she tries again to leave the city, she discovers that the world has changed a lot while she has been occupied with her husband. The virus has spread, many people have died, law and order has broken down, and being outside is dangerous. There are no military in sight. Travel is difficult as roads are blocked by barricades and stalled cars. Gasoline is also scarce, power grids are failing or failed, and the smell of decay is everywhere. Fortunately, they encounter Yorke, an extremely capable soldier just returned to the states who is looking for his brother.

I recommend this series for any dystopian fan. I received a review copy from Mindless Muse Publishing via NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this saga.

This book gave me back the love I had for dystopian. It starts off by talking about the virus that the volumes revolves around. This causes a pandemic and countries shutting down. We follow Frankie after the loss of her husband. This book alternates between Frankie and Yorke. After the virus took over most of the population, the survivors start to find each other. We follow a slow burn between Yorke and Frankie (for those slow burn trope lovers) and their journey of survival.

I enjoyed this hook so much because this pandemic hit close to home in some way. Live the slow burn because we know that Frankie had just lost her husband and pushing a relationship so quickly might have turn me away.

It felt so good to read this because I couldn’t put this book down until I finished it. Really hope people find the same enjoyment I did from this book.

An interesting spin on the YA dystopian trope.
I really enjoyed this one and felt it captured the real and raw emotions very well.

This was such an amazing story! It is set in the future and deals with a pandemic. One in which there is only 1% of the population left. We meet Frankie who is heartbroken over losing her husband to the pandemic. We also meet Yorke, a US army member sent home from Germany so he can die on his home soil. He is trying to find his brother who was homeless and a drug addict.

We watch as Yorke reaches the end of his rope. He’s drunk on a rooftop ready to end it all when he hears a woman’s cry. Realizing he is not as alone as he thinks he is determined to find her.

This book gives us hope and strength in the face of the unimaginable. Now that we have experienced a pandemic this story doesn’t feel so much like a fantasy but one that could easily happen. Frankie is the hope in this book. Not the hope of grand things but simply the hope of a woman looking forward and surviving the way she promised her husband. She is full of grief and it isn’t until she finds an orphaned young boy and his dog that she finds a purpose.

While Yorke is the strength. he went from house to house helping people in their final hours while searching for his brother. He has been trained to set feelings aside, to be hard and unyielding. Yet it is his choice to help those in need. To search for Frankie after hearing her cry out.

Yorke and Frankie come together in the best possible way. First as a new little cobbled family trying to survive in a new world together. Their feelings begin to come more to the surface as Frankie works through her grief. I love that the author didn’t have them jump into bed together. Honoring Frankie’s grief that way made me love the book even more.

This book was devastating and as I said felt more real because of the pandemic we just went through. It brought home just how lucky we were and what a future one could cost us all. It is a wonderful story of devastation and hope that I highly recommend.

This book took on a whole new light after having lived through the covid pandemic. The author really showcased the true emotion and the panic that people feel. This book was a brilliant read and i highly recomend it

This was way too long for my short attention span, and I regret requesting it solely because of that.

Thank you so much for the advanced copy, I liked the book. I'm critical of YA novels since there's so many dystopian/romance books in that category but this one was great. Did not feel too cliché and kept me hanging, sometimes felt too long but otherwise a great read!

I love how so many things happened in the book. I could not keep myself from the book because it was so good

Unfortunately, I did not finish this book, The timing and the subject related too closely to the current pandemic and it was hard to continue reading. Although I didn’t finish this book, I felt that what I did read was very well written. I can’t finish it at this time, but I hope in the future I will be able to since I’ve heard so many great things and did enjoy what I was able to read.
