Oooohhhh she loves him. He loves her. Neither one is willing to admit it until tequila gets involved followed by a bathroom conversation with a gossipy stranger. I loved this book - so hilarious and told from Nathan and Beth's perspectives. It was a ton of fun and not too steamy (would have loved if it was). I hope we get more books soon from the author!

Review: The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams

This book is so much fun! As you all know I love a good friends to lovers Romance so it looks like I’m shouting out all my favorite new friends to lovers romances this week! In this one we have Nathan, the star quarterback, and his best friend Bree. They both are ready to get out of the friend zone but have different approaches to it. Bree decides that she no longer is going to stop herself from acting on her attraction whereas Nathan is formulating a plan with his teammates to get closer to Bree physically.

There are some absolutely hilarious moments in this book, especially when it comes to Nathan‘s teammates. You can tell that Nathan and Bree have an actual friendship in this one and I so appreciate that. It makes it so that losing their friendship is truly a worry here.

I’ll give you a heads up this one doesn’t get super spicy but when the writing is great and the relationships chemistry comes through that doesn’t really bother me. There was enough to keep me going throughout this book without any open door scenes. I definitely recommend this one if you love a friends to lovers Romance, looking for more of a closed door book and white really great relatable characters. I truly enjoyed the cheat sheet and read it on audio!

I LOVED this book. It was the right amount of everything. Not to much angst, but enough to make you feel for them. Their long friendship and how they interacted was fun and I especially loved how his team adopted her as the little sister. This is a perfect curl up and read all day kind of book. ❤️ The narrator was great, her voice got the MC perfectly and added much to the story.

DISCLAIMER: I received this book free from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This was one of the cutest romances I've read this year! It is thoroughly wholesome and wrapped around my heart with ease. The use of two of my favorite tropes which are friends to lovers and fake dating was done so well. This audiobook is dual point of view and was so well crafted.

Bree and Nathan have been best friends since high school, and have secretly been in love with each other for years. Each of them thinks they other doesn't feel the same and they end up dancing around their attraction and feelings. But when a video of Bree drunk and confessing her feelings to a reporter goes viral Nathan's pr team thinks it's perfect. Fans love the idea of Bree and Nathan together and so does a company who's product went viral by being in the video of Bree.

Urged on by his pr team they agree to fake date, and both are silently happier than they let on about it. Through their small rouse they start to let their feelings show, and the moment they both realize the other feels the way they do their relationship shifts for friendship to something so much more.

This pro football player and ballet instructor hold onto their love for each other and never let it go. I genuinely cried during the wedding scene. Listening to it through an audiobook format also hit right in the heart because the voice actors/narrators brought out emotion so well in their voices.

Some of my favorite scenes that I always keep thinking about are the event they go to where she rips a huge poster of him by accident, the almost strip tease scene, the panic attack scene, and the wedding. But the entire book was so good! Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this audiobook.

This is a very sweet book. It is very unrealistic though. It was fun to listen to if you are into slow burns. Nathan and Bree in frustrating and adorable. There is also not a lot of heat in this book. It is very clean. Teddy Hamilton Is always amazing and Renee Dorian did a good job.

I was so excited to be approved for the audio release of this book. However I cannot get past the narrators voice. It’s hard to say what I don’t like specifically but it’s just not for me. I will be reading a physical copy in the near future because I am intrigued by the story, but I cannot listen to the audio reading.

I'm in a big sports rom-com phase! This is a best friends / fake romance scenario surrounding Best friend ballet teacher Bree and hot shot Football quarterback Nathan. Both are hopeless in love with each other, but don't have the guts to change their friendship situation in fear of ruining their friendship. There are some mentions about mental health and coming back from injury which I really enjoyed but it was brief. This book was cute but a bit juvenile. Honestly based on the cover I thought it was targeted towards high school or college sports. I felt like this had a lot of potential, but it felt so unbalanced. most of the time was spend by both characters being like "I love them and they don't know but I cant say anything" and then like 20% of the book was the actual plot and romance. I felt like most of the secondary characters weren't important to the plot. Half the time I had to be like wait who is this again? It was also a bit repetitive. I felt like they could have cut out a bunch of the beginning.

I don't know if it's the Netgalley app or what but everything I listen to through Netgalley sounds very robotic no matter how fast or slow I adjust the speed. And this affected my reading experience so hard! I think I would have liked this a lot more had the quality been better and they didn't sound like they had lisps at fast speeds and robots at slow speeds.

Overall I'm glad I read it since its all over bookstagram, but wish I would have read the physical copy instead of the audiobook.

This was one of my favorites books of this year. Sarah Adams is such an amazing writing and her stories are so heartwarming and funny. I’ve read The Cheat Sheet twice since it’s release and was so excited to listen to it as an audiobook. I liked Bree’s narrative and it was very easy to listen to. A wonderful way for me to be immersed in the story again and I was able to be productive while laughing at all the hilarious mishaps in this book.
Thank you to NetGalley for an e-ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3 stars

This one had the potential to be really sweet and funny, but it largely didn’t live up to my hopes/expectations. I just couldn’t quite get into it for a while. The beginning was okay, and there were some good scenes, but it felt a bit slow overall. I did laugh out loud at the whiteboard scene closer to the middle; that was a good moment. There were a couple other funny parts after that as well. It lost me again toward the conclusion, though, and then the very end? Ugh. We’ve been in love with each for years, we’ve been dating for two seconds, we’ve hinted at lots of sexual tension and kind of talked around it for a while…but now, let’s rush and get married before we sleep together so we make sure we have our happy ending together?? No thanks. I’m also a big fan of what I often refer to as “fluff with substance,” but more than once, the attempts to add more of the substance here felt forced or a bit preachy. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t quite work for me.

Ok, this was 100% your typical friends to lovers trope but I still couldn’t put it down!! I was hooked immediately and absolutely flew through this one!

While this was super light on the steam, it didn’t bother me in the slightest! Their chemistry was off the charts and the sexual tension was combustible! I always enjoy a fun fake dating plot and this one definitely worked!

It was sweet, charming and endearing and I loved the witty banter! I think this would totally make a perfect hallmark movie!

I usually I have rule with audiobooks… I only listen to books that I’ve already read. I find that I’m easily distracted and end up missing bits here and there. But when I got approved for the audiobook of The Cheat Sheet, I was so eager to read it that I broke my own rule. And it was worth it! It’s a cute, wholesome rom-com story between Bree and her BFF Nathan. It ticks all the boxes… dual POV, friends to lovers, mutual pining, some mental health rep, and fun sides characters.

A large part of what made this book so easy to listen to were the narrators. I’ve listened to other books with Teddy Hamilton before and have always enjoyed his narration. He has just enough inflection and cadence to his manner of reading that he gives his character a voice. But I really, really felt like Renee Dorian knocked it out the park with Bree’s character - she really gave a voice to Bree that felt true to her character. Fun, witty, sarcastic… all these came across in Renee’s narration. Almost like she was a thing it out rather than reading it, which felt very authentic to the story and character. Overall, very well done and highly recommend!

✨ Review ✨ The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams
Bree is hopefully in love with her best friend Nathan, and he loves her too -- but neither of them know about the other's feelings. Nathan's an NFL quarterback and Bree's living in a ramshackle apartment, trying to run a dance studio, offering discounts for those who can't afford it. After admitting her love for Nathan to a reporter while drunk, they fake date for publicity and ad dollars.

⭐️⭐️⭐️
Genre: romance
Location: Los Angeles
Pub Date: print book is out now, audiobook is released on December 14.

I listened to the audiobook of this and I enjoyed the first half - it made me laugh and I was rooting for them to realize their love for each other. The second half though just felt like it dragged on, and I admit I didn't enjoy how things came together at the end...it all felt a little cliche.

Read this if you like:
⭕️ fake-dating; friends to lovers
⭕️ low steam levels
⭕️ dramatic disparity between the character's income levels

Thanks to Victory Editing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this audio book!

Best friends to lovers and fake dating all in one book?! Count me in!

The Dating Plan was such an awesome book to listen to in order to escape into a new world as cold has begun to take over. Bree and Nathan’s relationship was so fun to dive into and it probably had me smiling like an idiot while walking in the neighborhood.

Throughout the novel, you learn that both Bree and Nathan have always loved each other, but have never believed the other wanted the same thing. So when chance happens that then fake dating would provide great publicity, they agree to try out dating…. Fake dating.

I found the book to be lighthearted and a great read for any hopeless romantic or lover of any romance trope!

I really wanted to write this in a way that sounds professional, but I've learned that I have a lot of feelings about this book so that's not gonna work for me.

The Cheat Sheet is about Bree and Nathan, two best friends who have also loved each other from the day they met, although neither one knows the other's feelings. This had the potential to be such a cute friends to lovers romance, but that flew out the window for me from the very first scene. In it, Bree watches from the kitchen counter as Nathan dumps his current girlfriend after she makes him choose between her and his best friend and he chooses Bree. This is unsurprising to Bree, as any time in the past Nathan has been forced to choose, he has always chosen her...and she still has no idea that Nathan likes her.

Bree being completely blind to Nathan's OBVIOUS attraction to her continues to be a trend throughout this story, and it's way more frustrating than cute. And don't even get me started on the fact that Nathan is the DEFINITION of a simp. Not only does he offer for Bree to move into his apartment since the guest room is pretty much hers already, he remains celibate because no other woman compares to Bree, and if he's not sleeping with her he doesn't want to sleep with anyone. You'd think if he were willing to go that far to preserve himself for Bree, he'd be willing to tell her his feelings, especially since he is such a suave, smooth jock with all the confidence in the world.

Also, can we talk about how one of Nathan's huge admissions is that he's never had to work for anything, and he felt like he didn't deserve the things he had because he hadn't earned them, but then he proposed to Bree a week after they started officially dating and she said yes without a second thought? Doesn't seem like he really worked for that either, but it was supposed to seem like such an effort on his part.

This is just one example of the weird ass pacing this story had. Bree and Nathan have been in love with each other for six YEARS, partook in this whole elaborate publicity stunt that (in my opinion) was completely unnecessary considering how obvious their feelings were, and their relationship buildup seemed to take forEVER...but everything else happened in a matter of seconds. Bree's sister Lily, for example, got into a fight with Nathan's mom at one point in the story. Keep in mind, Nathan's mom is a hardass that has been riding Nathan since he was a child, constantly giving him unneeded feedback on his game and just overall depleting any confidence this man had. One fight with Lily later and Nathan's mom has realized the error of her ways?? This fight also happened off-page in the time it took Bree to eat a cookie, so Lily must have some Dr. Phil level wisdom.

The only good part of this book for me were the mental health aspects. Nathan has panic attacks, but he doesn't have an anxiety disorder. Mans is expected to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders, and he doesn't give himself time to rest, which eventually takes a mental toll on him. The fact that the author took the time to explain that you don't have to have an anxiety disorder to have panic attacks and the way Bree helped him through his were some of the few solid parts of this story for me.

The entire time I was listening to this, all I could really think were that there are much better romances you could spend your time with instead. I honestly feel like I wasted my time with this book, but on the bright side, it was a quick and fluffy read that didn't take too much of it.

Fiends to lovers, mutual pining, fake dating, Bree and Nathan are best friends since high school and when a viral video of Bree is viewed by millions they are now in a whirlwind fake dating storyline. This book is nothing ground breaking but overall I enjoyed it

The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams was a sweet book, but I can’t say it’s one that will stick with me.
I felt the story dragged on a little too much, and then it just kinda ends. I would have to liked to have seen more development of the characters and their story as a couple.
I really enjoyed both narrators, and thought they did an excellent job of bringing Bree and Nathan to life.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this audiobook for an honest review.

I listened to this as an ARC (or is that an ALC for Advanced Listening Copy?!). It was well narrated-I always enjoy books with multiple narrators, it adds a lot of depth to the story. As for the story, it's sweet.....it doesn't have a lot of conflict or feel very real, and the pacing is slow. It's still an enjoyable listen for a miserable commute.

I sadly did not like this book at all. The narrator was good but the story was just not for me. I did not like the main characters at all she did not feel realistic to me at all. Nothing about this felt realistic to me. I think this is definitely for some people I am just not one of them.
