Wowza, I loved everything about this book. This was my first Sarah Adam's and it will not be my last. Bree is the perfect pick me up girl. Although I 100% do not relate to her, I can't help but admire her never ending peppy additude. Nathan was just swoon worthy. You have the best friends, fake relationship tropes mixed together with tons of chemistry. Can't wait to read more by thus author and share my love for this book!

Overall, this was a super cute, fun listen. I particularly loved when the football player talk strategy to get the girl; very funny! The female narrator was a bit much sometimes, though, to be honest. I know the main character was quirky, but she over played it a bit and crossed over to a bit annoying. Really fun story though! Consider a print copy.

This book started very strongly: the swoonworthy lines from Nathan's perspective about how much he liked Bree had me convinced that I would *love* this book. However, the quality of the writing and story swiftly decreased after the 25% mark. The story quickly became really cheesy, cringey, and poorly written. The way the character Bree was written to be such a pick me girl about Nathan was really infuriating to me, and I overall was not a fan.

That said, the audiobook was really good. I liked the dual narration, and especially the actor that voiced Nathan. His accent made the story *that* much more immersive, and it was really nice to be able to listen to this while doing my daily chores. I did feel that the sound quality was a bit more robotic than Netgalley audios usually are; not sure if this is an issue with the app or with the audiobook itself.

The Cheat Sheet is a cute romance with sweet characters and a lighthearted story. Overall, I enjoyed listening to this and I thought the narrators did a great job of conveying their characters. I always like when books like this have two narrators (one for each main character) instead of trying to have one person play all parts. For me, it makes the story a little easier to get into and enjoy.

While I did enjoy Bree and Nathan's story, I don't feel like a lot happened. There wasn't much conflict other than the fact that they did not communicate with each other very well. It did work, and I didn't hate it by any means, but this was not any deep or new plot. As the two characters pretend to date, I felt like the longer this plotline went on, the more of an afterthought it became. In many points, I felt like it was mentioned again briefly and then faded back into the background just as quickly. The end also felt a little empty to me. After all the buildup, it seemed that there was not really anything that the characters had to overcome or deal with. I definitely feel like there were more depths this book could have explored and didn't.

All of that said, I did enjoy this book. I listened to almost all of it in one sitting (I fell asleep listening and had to pick it back up the next day). It was a sweet, easy, feel-good book that was a good way to pass an afternoon.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the review copy.

This was a sweet read friends to lovers that made for enjoyable yet frustrating read.

Bree and Nathan have been friends since since high school when both wanted more but didn't know how to proceed. They are thrust into a 'fake' relationship where they both spend a lot of time hoping for more but spend a lot of time with more just slightly out of read.

The pair had chemistry but their lack of ability to communicate was maddening and frustrating at the same time. I spent a lot of time wanting to duck tape Bree's mouth shut as she spent so much time self sabotaging what could be by not telling him how she actually felt. If this pair was so worried about the affects of more would have on their friendship if their true feelings were released then they were not truly good friends since good friends could move on and be true about their feelings for one another.

If this type of frustrating read is your thing then this book is right up your alley but for me not so much.

“I think some things are worth waiting for, no matter how long they take.”

2.5 stars

If you are looking for an over the top cheese fest (including our male MC literally calling the main character cheese all the time) with no conflict other than miscommunication, you have found your book. The pick-me desperate energy from this woman is a MOOD. Girl falls in love with him the first time they meet because he….wait for it….tied her shoe. This is said really early so I don’t feel like it’s a spoiler. She doesn’t have any female friends, probably because she’s horrible to them, and I’m not sure why the team are all smitten with her? Other than her curls, dimples, and “little sister” energy? Guy seems to hate his job, and the ending…. Beyond sickly sweet. Including the horrible mother somehow hugging the MC’s sister and seeing all the error in her ways? Yea, ok. No spice, problems, or point really other than a light, maybe feel good read for a younger reader. *swipes a Tide pen over book*

First off, thank you NetGalley, Sarah Adams and Dreamscape Media for this early copy of The Cheat Sheet audiobook.

I. Am. Obsessed. With. Everything. In. This. Book.

If you’ve read the Bromance Bookclub series and loved it, you’ll love this book too.

I’m usually not a huge fan of the friends to lovers trope, but this book has made me a believer. Everything about Nathan and Bree’s relationship and friendship is what makes people fall in love with romance books and Hallmark movies. I found myself rooting for them from the getgo and holding my breathe as they came to fall in love with each other,

Nathan is book boyfriend gold, and has jumped to the top of my list. His kindness and thoughtfulness is what dreams are made of,

I really appreciated that this book wasn’t overly sexual and spicy, I think that some romance books go a little overboard, but I felt that this book gives you what you want in a romance book without too much steam.

I intend on purchasing this book for myself, and maybe even some of my friends. I want to read every book that Sarah Adams writes in the future too,

This book deserved 10 stars! One of my favorite reads of the year so far! I love this author and so far I have loved all of the books she has put out.
The characters were 100% relatable- I felt like they were real people.
There were several spots where I was laughing out loud- my family thought I was nuts.
This is one book that you will need to clear your schedule for because once you start it you will not be able to put it down.
This book has a bit of heat to it, but for me there was nothing offensive or embarrassing to be reading. It’s maybe a PG13 type of book, but I really enjoyed it.
I was lucky enough to be able to listen to the audio version of this book and it was amazing! I loved that there was a male and a female narrator- I loved that. It was very well done. I started listening in the morning while doing housework and finished it that afternoon. Very entertaining!

The Cheat Sheet is my first book by Sarah Adams, and it will not be my last! I love every part of this book. I finished it in one day because I love Nathan and Bree. Their chemistry was well developed with their friendship and secret feelings for each other. I laughed out loud and needed to rewind so that I could listen to it again. Sports romances are my absolute favorite. The Cheat Sheet is one of my top rom-com novels of 2021! Seriously, Nathan may be a new book boyfriend of mine! He's going to be made into a bookmark soon for my Etsy shop.

Teddy Hamilton is my favorite male narrator. Wow, he's so talented at bringing these male characters to life! Teddy Hamilton and Renee Dorian did a great job narrating these characters.

Thank you, Dreamscape Media, for this complimentary copy for my honest review.

This book could have been so much more. 3⭐️

Summary- Friends to lovers, mutual pining, and fake dating. Dance teacher Bree is best friends with NFL quarterback Nathan and they've been in love with eachother since high school but now, magically, they're both single at the same time.

Audiobook is good and has 2 narrators, one for each of the main characters.

The book focused more on Bree's chapters and I was always waiting on Nathan because he was much more interesting.

I was surprised by the anxiety representation but I thought it was really well done!

It's absolutely a slow burn and I hated just How Slow it was, the last quarter was just not what I wanted it to be.

At times I had fun reading it, but the critiques I have towards some of the substance of the book and choices with character development sadly make the book less like-able. The first few pages of the book are bad enough to make a person DNF. Our main character Bree is the definition of a pick me girl. Maybe it’s because I’m a feminist, wlw queer, but I really am over the trope of women hating other women because of the men they’re dating. Literally within the first few pages, Bree is talking badly about the woman her best friend, Nathan, is dating and every single other woman he’s dated. The author also writes every other woman that meets Nathan as someone desperate to get into his pants. In the audiobook the narrator plays into this notion that these women are horrible because they are lusting over this man by giving them high pitched/ nasally voices. There was literally no need to include this trope into the book to get the point across that Bree gets jealous and that Nathan isn’t serious about women because he’s harboring feelings for Bree. There’s more creative and impactful ways to write jealousy.

Another thing that somewhat bothered me in regards to Bree was her lack of friends. I really just want romance protagonists to have friends beyond the romantic interest and family members, is that too much to ask?!? Specifically in this book, I think it would’ve benefited the writing and Bree as a person to have someone other than Nathan. Maybe she would’ve come clean sooner about her feelings if that was the case! And to further along that thought, I can imagine readers finding both characters annoying by the constant will they or won’t they confess their feelings.

In regards to the writing, I felt that the way the narrator spoke to the audience made the book feel immature. There was a lot of exposition, showing and not telling, and recaps of events that felt unnecessary. For example I think most of the backstory to the friendship could have been explained or explored throughout the book through dialogue, character introspection, current events that bring up the past. Instead a lot of the backstory was info dumped at the start of the book and sometimes throughout. Also there was a few times where I was curious about who the author was and their age because the way the writing incorporated social media and fame felt forced. It’s difficult to articulate further but I’m curious if anyone else felt similarly.

Spoiler for the end of the book - I found it really strange that Nathan wanted to wait till marriage to have sex with Bree. It was never established prior in the book that this was something important to either of them so it really came out of no where. The final quarter of the book was pretty disappointing to me.

Overall there were funny and joyful moments throughout the book, yet the issues I saw overshadowed those moments. I’m sure many will love this book, it just ended up not being for me!

I have adored all of Sarah Adams books so far but The Cheat Sheet might just be my favorite! The Cheat Sheet is an incredible fake-dating friends-to-lovers romance between a professional football player and a ballerina. The chemistry between Bree and Nathan is undeniable and this is Sarah’s spiciest book yet! I adored Bree, who is fun and optimistic, but also a hard worker with a tough past. Nathan is book boyfriend goals: he is a humble and sweet QB who has been in love with Bree for years-- the ultimate cinnamon roll hero! This book is hilarious (I laughed out loud in chapter 1) and the perfect book to get you out of a reading slump. I cannot recommend this book enough-- run to go get your copy! This audio is done exceptionally well! I loved the narrators and cannot wait to listed to more of her books on audio.

Could I be in love with this book anymore than I am? This book is my lobster. It’s the reason I live for a friends-to-more trope. I can pinpoint the exact moment when I fell in love with this book, last paragraph on page four. That’s it… hook, line, and sinker, I was done for.

The writing style felt more like a conversation with Nathan and Bree rather than a story being told. Her sarcastic inner monologue broke up the intense tension and brought a light hearted side of the story that made Bree and Nathan playful and flirtatious. What I enjoyed most is that as the reader, there is a relatability to the dialogue of each character. Each has a unique voice, but the author made them accessible and approachable.

What I love the most about this audiobook is how well the narrators brought Bree and Nathan to life in a way that reading alone couldn’t do. Their cadence and tone made the scenes pop and my heart swoon. These narrators perfectly captured who I had envisioned and brought a new level of love for these characters and their love story. I laughed harder hearing my favorite lines and the butterflies fluttered harder during the tension and angst. I was already in love with this book before the audio, but now I have a new level of love for this book and these characters.

I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Sarah Adams is a brilliant writer. It’s rare for me to fall hard with every book one author puts out. Just when I think this book couldn’t possibly be better than the last, she tops her previous one. The narrators are the perfect compilation of endearing and heartwarming while also bringing the chemistry and heat. Plus there is no one better to narrate Nathan thanTeddy. That alone makes this audiobook a five star. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this audiobook.

One of my favs I absolutely love the friends that have loved each other since they were 17 and then finally told each other it was amazing as a story and I love these kinds of love stories

I was given an advanced audiobook of The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams through NetGalley narrated by Renee Dorian, to give an honest review.

I have heard such wonderful things about this book, and it lived up to the hyper. It is a slow-burn romance on friends to lovers + a bit of fake dating trope. Nathan and Bree are such vibrant characters that try to navigate their friendship through their new dating relationship. I appreciated that Sarah Adams made a plug about mental health as well as the normalcy that men can have panic attacks and the message that no one is less than.

One of the best parts of a slow burn romance is the amount of actual plot there is in the development of the characters as well as great "scenes" and great conversations between all the characters.

The Cheat Sheet is one of my new favorite comfort reads. Having already read and loved the e-book version, I was so hoping that the audiobook would live up to my high standards. I was not disappointed. The narrators sound exactly how you would imagine Bree and Nate to sound. They do an incredible job of telling the story through the dual perspectives and keeping me interested.

The story itself is just perfection. Nate is a professional football player with a huge heart and struggles with his need for perfection. Bree, his best friend since high school, owns a ballet studio that helps underserved youth with achieving their dreams of becoming dancers. Bree and Nate have both secretly loved each other for years. Neither of the two best friends have ever had the courage to take the leap and confess their feelings. Their story keeps you rooting for them to find their happily ever after without being overly predictable. Will absolutely be reading more from this author and listening to more audiobooks from the narrators.

Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for the advanced audiobook in exchange for my unbiased opinions.

So much fun! One of the best rom-com’s I’ve read in a while! Just enough cheese to make it adorable without being too mushy! Will be recommending this one.
Bree and Nathan have been unlikely best friends since they met at the high school track. He was the star football player and she was the quiet ballerina. As crazy as their friendship looks to everyone outside of them, it works for them. Neither of them have ever admitted that they want to get out of the “friend zone” with each other until one drunken night Bree admits her true feelings and Nathan’s fellow players and friends decide to teach him how to woo her into a relationship. Can they go from friends to lovers without messing everything up they have?
Super cute and easy to listen to with some laugh out loud moments m the narrator did a great job, especially when portraying some of the more cringe worthy moments of embarrassment that Bree goes through (that are totally fun and relatable!)
Thanks to Netgalley for this audiobook in exchange for my review.

I read The Cheat Sheet earlier this year as an ebook and was super excited to see it getting an audiobook! Something about audiobooks just is great for Dual POV romances, I feel more connected to the characters. The narrators were excellent!

My review from Instagram and GoodReads
The Cheat Sheet is a sports romance (Nathan is in the NFL & Bree is a dance instructor). I read this because I saw other people say it was good on Instagram. It’s friends to lovers with fake dating. It’s really a simple light hearted romcom. It was pretty funny at parts.
It does address mental health, both depression and panic attacks. That was nice, I like to see mental health handled well in books. It’s not enough that it made the book heavy or angsty at all though. Makes the book feel realistic because irl so many people deal with it in their daily life.
I didn’t love it but it was a nice easy read. If you’re looking for a fun easy read, check it out!
