The Path to Kindness was a lovely collection of poetry edited together by James Crews. The book is broken into different sections and after each section there is a point of reflection and writing prompt which would make this perfect to use for daily reading and reflection. At the very end of the book there are also discussion questions to help you get the most out of this collection of meaningful poems.

Some of my favorite poems included were: Kindness by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, Sustenance by Barbara Crooker, Ode by Zoe Higgins, Self-Care by James Crews, The Most Important Thing by Julia Fehrenbacher, and The Joins by Chana Bloch.

Like the previous collection (How to Love the World) in this series, The Path to Kindness is a book dedicated to light and life. These poems span the depth and breadth of the human experience, from an array of different poets. Based on your taste for poetry style, not every poem is guaranteed to be to a particular reader's liking, but all the poems speak to a unique, personal aspect of what it means to be human. If you need a little hope and are seeking a little kindness to help you through life and the messed-up things in the world, make sure to pick up a copy of this collection. There's something in here that will speak to everyone.

I had to dnf this book after the very first 5 pages. Maybe I'm not the right reader for this. Hope someone else will appreciate it.

The Path to Kindness was a refreshing poetry anthology. I deeply appreciated the positive vibes radiating from these pages. It is the only poetry anthology I have come across in a long while that made me feel warm and fuzzy instead of cynical. This featured many powerful poetic voices.

As a reader who does not typically read poetry, I really enjoyed many of the poems in The Path to Kindness, which was edited by James Crews.

I found these to be an easy "entry point" into the poetry genre. I especially liked reading the ones about nature, but almost of them were accessible to novices of poetry. The "invitations for writing and reflection" really helped me to think about the themes in the poems.

A collection of poems about several moments and circumstances of life, such as joy, sadness, grief, love, memory, day by dayand so on. It was deep and emotional, it was an honest text full of reflection.

I loved this little book of poetry more than I thought it would be possible when I first opened it. It's about all the small and big moments where kindness (and every other emotion) touches a life, traces to the veins of all we've been, are, and might/will be. I found myself with my fingers at my lips or my hand over my heart at several of these, seeing my life reflected across so many lives and words and hearts.

I requested this book because I thought this would be a collection of inspiring poems.

Sadly I didn’t enjoyed most of them. Most of the poems felt very bland and also kind of boring to read. It felt like the poems tried to be really deep but just failed. There was also one poem about an disabled boy and it was awkward to read because it wasn’t the authors child but a random kid he saw in a restaurant.

There were still a few poems I really enjoyed. A few would be „ Only Love“ by James Crews, „Kindness“ by Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer and „The most important thing“ by Julia Fehrenbacher.

Another thing I enjoyed about the collection were the Reflective Pauses. I would have liked to read a few more of them!

This is one of my very favorite poetry anthologies of all time. I took notes and wrote down lines from nearly every poem. James Crews has done a gorgeous, moving job of compiling some of the tenderest contemporary poetry out there, each gem a drop of humanity speaking directly to our souls. I could not love this collection more and wish i could give it more than five stars.

The highlight for this collection is that there are poems by different writers which I really enjoyed reading. I enjoy the variety and the different forms of expression in each.

This is a collection which you will enjoy reading taking your own sweet time and try to focus on each poem what it's trying to say. The language is easy and the words relatable.

I love the cover so much!

For 2022 I've begun the habit of reading at least one piece of poetry everyday, It's a habit that I'm really enjoying. Poetry anthologies are always a tricky thing to review as there are so many authors at work. For me I really resonated with and enjoyed lots of the poems in this book but there were others, as expected, that weren't to my taste.

The Path to Kindness
I thoroughly enjoyed each poem and the contributions made by various writers. I especially loved the way the poems were organized and that each section ended with a culminating write up and a reflection for the reader. It was enjoyable. I would recommend this book to those who like poetry.

Overall, I can say that there were a good variety of poems in this collection, some that enjoyed while others didn't catch my attention as much. But in all poetry collections we read that is to be expected. There are definitely poems to read that will interest a majority of people.

An enjoyable collection!

This anthology of poetry discusses themes of choice and kindness through the writing of various writers. Since it does have varying poets' works, it is a bit difficult to review as a whole. While some poems were striking and memorable, others were not. But that all depends on us readers resonating with a particular writer. I think the anthology does its job well to bring different voices and views together to discuss the path one takes toward kindness.

I can’t say I enjoyed all poems in this collection equally, but I think that is to be expected of any poetry collection. What’s important is that were definitely poems that stood out to me and I will come back to re-read them later; I especially appreciated Danusha Laméris’s pieces and I can’t wait to explore more of her work.

Overall I think this collection does a a good job at exploring its topic of choice, kindness, in a various enough spectre of experiences, and I’m sure anyone can find a piece or two here that they’ll feel a connection with.

I don’t usually read poetry but I really liked this collection of poems. They were all different, not only in style, but also in themes and that made my experience while reading it richer. There were a few I loved and had to re-read a few times. This is great if you’re into mindfulness. Also, the cover is lovely, if the book had a few illustrations, it would have been even better.

I enjoyed this collection of poetry/short essays from a variety of different authors. This touched on subjects such as love and loss. Some were joyful and others were tear-jerking, but they all teach their own lessons. I think this would be stunning to have on display, especially if full color was added to the pages within. The cover is beautiful and caught my eye right away.

This is laid out in different sections, so the reader may choose to navigate to a specific section depending upon the mood.

This would make a lovely coffee table book or display book for a bookshelf it it were a hard copy. I would recommend to someone in your life who could use a little more kindness and healing.

To be honest, reviewing an anthology of poems is difficult due to the various authors involved.

In this case, I didn't resonate with a single entry. It can be hard to relate to how others feel, and everyone experiences joy in different ways but nothing in here stood out to me.

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but overall I found this collection really lacking and unrelateable.

I really loved the introduction to this book. However, I just couldn't get into the main part. I had a hard time seeing the connections in the poems within the topics. Readers should go into this book expecting to be 'interrupted' by the reflection section at the end of each. It seemed disjointed to have them in the book's main section. I think they would have been better as an appendix.
