The apartment itself is in a gorgeous old building with several other tenants, including Nick, who invited Ben to stay. Jess looks for clues and as she does begins to realize that no one in the building is exactly who they say they are. Told from the viewpoints of all of the residents, the real story is slowly revealed. Good pacing, atmosphere and character development make this an addictive read..

I really enjoyed Lucy Foley's "The Hunting Party" so I was happy to see a new title from her. This was pretty good, though had elements that felt slightly trite. Ultimately a good read!

Jess falls in with a group of very different people who live in an apartment where her brother was last seen. Everyone has secrets to hide and someone knows more about his disappearance than they are telling. For fans of Ruth Ware and Louise Candlish.

The Paris Apartment starts out strong, with action, mystery and intrigue from the very first page. There are many twists and turns throughout the novel and the myriad of characters keep the action moving and readers guessing. Overall, twisty, unpredictable mystery with solid payoff.

Slight Spoiler: There is a brief LGBTQ storyline that was never quite fully developed or resolved and I wasn’t satisfied with the treatment of a character who explores their sexuality and then expresses shame over a same sex encounter. To add an LGBTQ element to the book, only in terms of a character feeling shame and embarrassment, seems to be a step in the wrong direction. I would have liked seeing this play out differently, with LGBTQ representation being associated with more than a character merely expressing shame and embarrassment.

Great story by Lucy Foley- so many twists and turns, I don’t want to give anything away. Jess and Ben are half siblings. Jess needs to get away from a few “issues”, and Ben has a great apartment in Paris. But maybe it is too great. And where has Ben gone? Jess sets out to find him, but his neighbors are being none too helpful.

When Jess arrives at her brother's swanky Paris apartment she's miffed to find he's not home. Exhausted from her precipitous departure from home, she falls into bed when she finally gains entry. Despite their tumultuous relationship, when Ben still doesn't show after a full day, Jess goes looking for answers. The truth behind Ben's absence - and how he came to reside in such luxurious digs - is slowly revealed through multiple perspectives. This will appeal to fans of multi-layered psychological suspense.

Jess is escaping Brighton and goes to see her brother Ben in Paris. However, when she gets there he is nowhere to be found and the residents of the apartment building are less than helpful. I liked the short chapters and the multiple POVs, and was on edge trying to figure out what happened to Ben as Jess tracked down the clues to find him. The setting, a luxurious Paris apartment complex, added to the mystery as each resident has something to hide. The ending came together nicely, with a few twists.
Recommend, particularly if you like Foley's other novels.

This book had a clever, twisted plot told in a convoluted way that was fun and effective. Set in an elegant, yet eerie, apartment building in Paris with a diverse group of residents, it followed a young woman’s search for her missing brother. As she searched, the story unfolded in an intriguing non-linear way that added immensely to my enjoyment of the book. Ms. Foley is an expert at this type of writing and does not disappoint with this book.

QUICK TAKE: as a Foley fan, I was extremely satisfied with this twisty thriller about a young woman investigating the disappearance of her brother and the mysterious tenants of his Parisian apartment building that the woman believes were involved. There are a couple solid twists, and I really liked the setting of this story. Foley is quickly becoming a brand, and with this book and THE GUEST LIST, readers know what to expect when they pick up one of the author's books. A very solid read.

This was a great story-full of suspense and unexpected twists. I look forward to recommending it to our patrons next year!

This is the first Lucy Foley book I have read. I loved the setting in Paris bur just found the book a little slow for me. While I enjoyed it, it was hard to pick up and continue reading. Lucy Foley delivers another solid on to the thriller genre. A recommended first purchase where her previous titles are popular.

I thought there'd be more TWISTS. Still, Lucy Foley has the knack for keeping you in the text at the expense of like, eating dinner or paying attention to yr boyfriend. Make him bring you a croissant to bed grrrrl, yr gonna read this all night.

I would recommend this book for fans of fast-paced thrillers/mysteries, fans of Lucy Foley won't be disappointed, and the Paris setting will bring in readers who like their mysteries with a side of sophistication.

I haven't read her first book, so I don't know if it's better, but this one was very boring. I read a lot of thrillers & suspense novels, & I couldn't wait for this one to be finished.

Ben’s neighbors are no help either, they are a sullen, closed rank group who offer Jess no help. As time goes on, Jess begins to wonder if she will ever see her brother again.
