My workplace offers training for Conscious Conversations, based on the book by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler. Several of the techniques and tools described in this book reminded me of Conscious Conversations. However, I found this text to be much easier to follow and a lot more relatable. While Conscious Conversations sometimes felt a bit hokey to me, this text seemed better grounded in real-world examples and had more modern, inclusive approaches. I appreciated the CBT and DBT explanations and gained a lot of valuable insight from the text. Grateful to NetGalley and Prevost Books for providing an ePUB copy for review.

Set in two key parts, this book looks at the skills of communication in one part and in the next how to have difficult conversations. It's well explained with a section towards the end with practical tips.
I particularly loved the grounding techniques shared here and also what to do to stop interrupting others in conversation, it's a timely book especially in this time when we are confident behind keyboards and not face-to-face.
Thanks Netgalley for the eARC.
