This was the first book in a new series featuring two sisters that play amateur sleuths. It was an entertaining read and I will definitely read the 2nd book in the series.

This was an interesting mystery which was set in an exotic location. It featured two amateur sleuths, sisters Finley and Whitt Blake. It had lots of suspense, surprises and some romance as well. I highly recommend this book to other mystery readers.

I could not get into this book. I could not finish it, so to be fair, I gave it two stars. The first few chapters did not catch me, so I put it down and am reading other noves. Thanks, NetGalley and to the publisher for giving me an advance copy of the book.

I loved the concept of two sisters solving crime while on a work-related trip. The mystery behind the murder was interesting. The only niggle I had with the story was the characterization - somehow, I did not like the characters as much as I wanted to.
Overall, this was a good read and I am looking forward to reading more of the Blake Sisters' adventures.

My rating: 3.5/5

Two, rich, sisters meet up in Tangier. Finley is on a travel-writing assignment whereas Whitt is a banker/lawyer (can't remember which) living in Tbilisi. Staying in a fancy hotel they encounter the lower echelons of an action movie team, one of whom is found dead, thrown across a massive chandelier. The movie team are an odd bunch - grips, writers, scenery - and some of whom have worked together in the past. Some have dark pasts. The local police, ably assisted by a hunk from Interpol, are baffled. Finley and Whitt seem to delve into mysteries amongst an awful lot of shopping during which they are stalked by unknowns. They are kidnapped individually but escape/are released, work their ways back to town and hit the shops again. Naturally they meet up with Max, an old flame of Finley, who takes them under his wing and then are joined by David, a friend who wants more of Whitt. They go shopping again, and eat and drink a lot. It all gets rather silly although the basic murder mystery is a good story. The girls, however, are tedious and there is far too much shopping and drinking going on which adds little to the story except for colourful descriptions of the souks. The descriptions of these are good, however, and bring to life the colours, smells and culture of Morocco. Thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

This book was DNF at 25% for me. I tried reading it several times but I wasn't able to get into it. The story was off to a slow start and I felt like there was something I was missing but I'm sure the answers or missing pieces would be found by the end of the book.

This book was boring to me as it contained way too many descriptive paragraphs and not enough action. I found myself skimming and turning pages just to get to the end.

This was just okay for me. The writing style bothered me as character's pov changed from paragraph to paragraph and there were way too many italicized inner thoughts. The sisters weren't my favorite sleuths but I liked the locale. As this is a "travel mystery" setting is very important and I enjoyed reading about the scenery in Morocco but I didn't care about the murder or the people staying at the hotel. The kidnapping (and the sisters' reaction to it) was also strange. Two people murdered, a kidnapping, but let's go sightseeing in Casablanca! By the halfway point I found myself skimming. This isn't a bad book. I just couldn't connect with the characters or the mystery.

Finley Blake quits her long-time consulting job to pursue her love of writing for Traveler’s Tales, an upscale travel magazine. Her sister, Whitt, joins her to travel to Morocco for her first “48 Hours In” assignment. After checking into their boutique hotel, Finley and Whitt go to the roof top bar and meet a group of fellow guests, several members of the film crew working on a movie being filmed throughout Morocco. Shortly thereafter their adventures begin. This is the first of the Blake Sisters Travel Mysteries written by a very talented writer. I am really looking forward to book #2. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and the opinions expressed are my own.

Finley is hoping to become a travel writer. Her first assignment takes her to Morocco. Joined by her sister, they see the sites, shop, eat, and find a fellow guest at their hotel. I and the sisters spent a great deal of time confused by all that happened after, but most becomes clear in the end. Great descriptions of the places visited, the food and the shopping!

Murder in the Medina by Carter Fielding.
Blake Sisters Travel Mysteries Book 1.
Finley Blake thought a plum assignment in Tangier would be the perfect chance to grab some girl time with her sister, Whitt. But when a crew member from an action movie being filmed locally falls to his death, Whitt and Finley must put their heads together to figure out whether it was an accident – or murder. During an assignment in Morocco, Finley Blake, a young travel writer still reeling from a painful breakup, and her sister, Whitt, are caught in a web of human trafficking and murder. They must decide whether to play it safe or help a handsome Interpol agent uncover the pieces of the puzzling mystery that will put the murderer behind bars. Travel through the streets of Rabat, the alleyways of Tangier and the medina of Casablanca with these intrepid sleuths. This next in the series of Blake Sisters Travel Mysteries follows Whitt and Finley into the Kasbah for their meeting with death and a Tangier take-out.
A great start to a series. I loved the cover.
Good Story and characters. 4*.
