I could not really get into this book the characters were very one dimensional .The story was ok but overall I did not care about the world building or characters.

I have to admit, when I saw this cover, I was not too impressed. With that said, I liked the synopsis of this book. I really enjoyed this. I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. I enjoyed the worlds and the male and female main characters. I loved that the male main character was totally about how the female main character was feeling.

I wish it was a little longer. I kind of feel like it ended very abruptly. I was hoping for a little more about the conflict that happened. I don't want to give spoilers, but something happened at the Presentation Ball and I wish there was more to that or that it came back in the future to cause more of a conflict.

This is the third in a series, but I don't think you need to read the first two in order to understand this series. I mean I was fine reading this installment.

From the get-go, the main girl is constantly referred to as being childlike directly alongside language sexualizing her. I had hopes that things would turn around when the main guy committed to not trying anything with her until she'd had a chance to experience more of the world (while physically she's 20, she's been in stasis since she was 10, so mentally she's 10 at the beginning of the story).
It seemed like things were turning around some, until he dreams about raping her-- this isn't revealed to be a dream until after the fact (by which point I'd already DNF'd-- I just skipped to the end of the chapter to see how that whole mess ended up). I get that CNC is some people's thing, but this wasn't even that-- it was an on-page explicit rape scene, and there's no coming back from that for me, ESPECIALLY since it featured the main couple in something that was branded as a romance. Hard pass from me, all around.

This is a different take on an alien romance. Kane has tremendous control and he certainly needed it. Angel has no clue what she is truly in the middle of. It's well written with a happy ending. I enjoyed it.
