The synopsis for this was appealing but it fell completely flat for me. Olivia Sutherland is wrongly framed and jailed after her husband sets her up. She gets out of jail and seeks revenge. Sounded like a fun read, but it wasn’t for me.

This isn’t badly written, but it’s too all over the place with far too many storylines and required a superhuman suspension of disbelief that I don’t possess. Bearing that in mind, I wasn’t the right reader for this.

I love C.L. Taylor! This was not my first book of hers but it is one of my favorites. Her writing style is so fluid. Her storyline captures you from the first chapter and just keeps pulling you in.
Olivia was such an intriguing character! She was framed for murder by her own husband. She has 2 things on her mind when she gets out of jail 5 years later…. Her daughter and proving her innocence (also to get even with her crap of a husband)! The story will keep your interest until the end. There are so many twists and turns and you will not expect the ending!

This is a must read by this author!

I received an ARC copy through NetGalley and Avon Books in exchange for my honest review!

#TheGuiltyCouple #NetGalley When I see a new Cally Taylor book to read I know I'm in for a treat and wow was this one a cracker! The best to date by this author for sure. Drama and intrigue from the very first page with lots of tense action and twists and turns right until the very last chapter. This was a book that I could not put down and I carried on late into the night to finish it in one day!! It's hard to imagine how this book can be topped but I look forward to the next book from this author with much excitement! If I could give 6 stars here, I definitely would!!

Firstly, I am thankful for the opportunity to have received a free advanced copy of this Ebook through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Your husband has framed you for his attempted murder, you are now spending 5 years in prison, on release your intentions are to clear your name and reconnect with your daughter. Can Olivia achieve that or will she be in great danger, who can she trust?

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. The plot was exciting with many twists and turns and my interest was kept throughout.

I rate this Ebook 5 Stars and would recommend to those who enjoy their suspenseful thrillers.

In 2014 Olivia Sutherland is on trial. Is she the monster the prosecution paint her to be? Has she been desperate enough to arrange to have her husband Dominic killed? He testifies that indeed she has but who exactly is the guilty one in this couple? Fast forward to 2019, Olivia is now out of prison, she’s extremely anxious to see her daughter Grace but is also in a very vengeful mood.

After an initial cracking start the pace drops as the scene sets but this feels a bit clunky to me as it feels fragmented. However, the plot definitely thickens, the pace quickens as does my interest and it becomes a pretty intense read with short sharp chapters keeping you invested. There are some good and unpredictable twists and turns, tension and suspense is maintained and it’s become compelling reading.

The characterisation is good, they are a mixed bunch and there are a few you possibly wouldn’t trust in a million years. Can we for example trust Olivia as she so clearly has revenge on her mind? My favourite character is Smithy, who Olivia meets in prison, I think she’s gutsy and a terrific personality and she makes me smile, she probably shouldn’t but there you go!

The themes are manifold, guilt guilt and more guilt, cheating and exemplary lying, lovers enemies and masterful manipulation and criminality. There are toxic relationships in every direction you turn for example Dominic and Olivia but the crux of Olivia‘s motivation through it all boils down to love for her daughter Grace.

Overall, it’s highly entertaining once it gets off the starting blocks and that’s all we can ask for in our fiction!

With thanks to NetGalley and especially to Avon books for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book kept me interested from the beginning wanting to know how a person gets framed for murder. The things this woman has to go through to prove her innocence is crazy. If you’re looking for a good quick read… I would suggest this book! Finished in one sitting.

A huge shout out to Netgalley and the publisher in thanks for granting me an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book was so exciting and full of unpredictable twists and turns. It was full of suspense and had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what would happen next. Olivia was an amazing character and I was with her every step of the way as she sought to find out why her husband, Dominic, had set her up. The writing was superb and the plot fully developed. The ending was spellbinding.
Holy cow! The book would make an incredible movie or television series

Fun and quick read!
Olivia Sutherland was convicted of planning to murder her husband. Now she is fresh out of jail and hoping to pin down who was behind her incarceration. She believes it was her husband, and as she unravels the lies she learns his dishonesty runs much much deeper. The lies are so deep they might get her killed!
This is a fast moving story with some great twists and turns. I fully enjoyed it although some parts required you to suspend your belief. If you like interesting characters, believe in vengeance, or just want a fast moving twisty plot, #TheGuiltyCouple is for you! #netgalley #AvonBooks

3.5 stars

I have mixed feelings. The book is engaging and I read it in one go. The writer knew how to pull me in but the story was a bit all over the place and the characters sent mixed signals. For example, are we supposed to like Dani or not? I think the backstory about her sister was completely unnecessary because it brought sympathy for her but at the same time it is difficult to like someone who is so self-centered and without any remorse, and also not that bright. Who expects other people to dish out thousands of dollars to you without repayment just because they have a nice house or a nice car? The supporting characters from prison provide some entertainment but it is hard to connect the story with reality. The husband is a jerk, what a surprise. The story with Jack is unresolved.

The book's title and cover are misleading because it implies that the married couple committed crimes together when the plot is very different and the couple is divorced by the time we get into the book.

The end of the book has that type of twist that is completely unbelievable and thus no reader could have even guessed it. The last interaction is even less believable.

Thanks Netgalley for a free copy in exchange of an honest review.

This book had a lot going on and I mean A LOT, too much in fact. There were so many characters and many different side plots going on it is enough to make ones head spin...and not in a good way. We have three points of view and plenty of shenanigans going on. It seemed to me everyone was sleeping with everyone but the person they're married to and we also have a cop, with two jobs, who never seems to have to be at work. The premise of husband framing his wife for his attempted murder sure was a good one, too bad the execution was a flop. There was too much going on with too many people and the majority of the plot and actions of the characters were completely unbelievable. I felt the same about Her Last Holiday (although I liked this one a bit better because the tension is certainly there and made it at least suspenseful) and it is obvious that C.L. Taylor just isn't the author for me.

One thing you can always count on with this author is an exciting read full of twists and turns and plenty of thrills along the way. Yet again author Cally Taylor comes up with a winner, sure to please her readers.

Olivia Sutherland is free, release from prison after being wrongly convicted of planning to murder. Now five years later she is out and desperate to repair her relationship with her daughter, clear her name, and bring down her husband, the man who framed her.

These goals are not going to be easy to achieve, just how far will Olivia or husband go to determine whether she is successful or not.

Fast paced thrills make this an exciting read from start to finish.

I would like to thank both Netgalley and Avon Books for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

Framed for trying to murder her husband, Olivia is released from prison desperate to prove her innocence and reclaim her life and relationship with her daughter.

Book finished in less than 12 hours, bags under my eyes, and knackered the next day but so worth it. A fast paced story which will keep you guessing.

I really like this author and have read lots of her books before and this new one did not disappoint! Gifted by netgalley but all views my own.

The Guilty Couple
by C.L. Taylor

Thank you to Avon Books UK, NetGalley, and C.L. Taylor for this ARC.
The plot and the twists have been tried and tested by many authors before in this genre and Ms. Taylor’s writing doesn’t give any new perspective or dimension to it. Though she has written with a good pace it doesn’t make it really engrossing. Just not much to want to rush or finish at a pace.

This book was fantastic! I was hooked from the first page which is always a good sign!

The Guilty Couple by C.L. Taylor is about a woman who was sent to jail after being set up by her husband. When she gets out, she is determined to prove her innocence.

Twists and turns and unreliable characters...excellent suspense!

This one comes out in June BUT this author has several other books that are all super suspenseful that you can read now.

What are you reading right now?

This was a pretty solid read, I liked the concept and storyline and how it was executed. It was a quick and fun read and I finished it in one sitting, It did keep me reading, but I found the storyline and plot twists overall kind of predictable and nothing really surprised me.

Wow, I loved this! Such an unusual, original psychological thriller. The intricate plot is amazing, slowly unravelling with non stop drama, which had me captivated. Just who are the guilty couple? Will definitely be reading more from this author. Highly recommended.

Many thanks to NetGalley, Avon Books UK and C. L. Taylor for my ARC of The Guilty Couple in return for an honest review.

I always look out for books by this author as I have found they never disappoint and neither did this one. Cleverly written with realistic characters I was soon enthralled.

Olivia is being released from prison after serving five years for plotting to murder her husband. She has always protested her innocence and the only person who believed her was the woman she shared a prison cell with.

She wants to get her revenge on her husband, build her relationship with her daughter and prove her innocence.

Numerous twists and turns throughout with a clever ending.

Highly recommended.

4.25 STARS

“The Guilty Couple” is the latest thriller by C.L. Taylor that is as improbable as it is addictive. From start to finish, the author takes her readers on one very crazy roller coaster ride! And I enjoyed every single minute of it!!

Upon her release from prison for a crime she didn’t commit, Olivia Sutherland sets out to right the past wrongs perpetrated against her while also trying to re-establish a relationship with the daughter she hasn’t seen in 5 years. Along the way, there are twists and turns that will have you questioning and guessing with every turn of the page.

As the story unfolds, it is told through differing POV’s, enabling the reader to get inside the heads of all the major players. Despite some questionable story threads, and an annoying subplot involving Olivia’s daughter, overall, I found “The Guilty Couple” to be a suspenseful and riveting story that kept me engaged from beginning to end. .
