I’ve read a few books by this author and not found a bad one yet. Told from the perspectives of Olivia, Dominic and Dani (a personal trainer to Olivia and Dominic and also a police officer involved with Olivia's prosecution) this is a tense, fast moving thriller with great characterisations. Short chapters add to the tension and I read this over the course of a day.

Briefly, Olivia is found guilty of plotting to kill her husband Dominic. 5 years later she is released determined to clear her name and bring her husband to justice. But first she needs to repair her relationship with her teenage daughter. But how far will she go to achieve this and how far will Dominic go to stop her? As she delves into the past she begin to wonder if she can trust anyone.

There are a lot of characters but the book is concisely written and easy to follow. A compelling read with twists and turns that kept me guessing until the end and the final reveal was a total shock. A brilliant thriller ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely loved this book I was hooked from the very first page. Liked the characters and the twists that kept me guessing till the end. Would highly recommend this book.

Olivia Sutherland has just been released from prison. She was sent down for plotting to have her husband Dominic killed. Her so called accomplice and Lover Jack is still missing.
However Olivia was set up by a corrupt police officer and her husband. It means shes lost five years of freedom and contact with her daughter Grace.
Olivia needs to make contact with Grace and build up their relationship. She also whats to bring Dom and Dani down. She gathers her closest friends round to plot her revenge. Will she manage to succeed before Dom flees taking her beloved Grace.
This was such an easy read. I flew through the book. Perfect holiday read.

a quick read about a lady that serves time in prison but is not guilty. read in one day, it was hard to put down.

C.L Taylor is back with this exhilarating mystery. The multiple POVs kept the flow and pace moving quickly throughout- therefore maintained a high level of interest and intrigue into the explosive final closing chapters. A must read!

OF COURSE I enjoyed C.L. Taylor’s latest novel, she’s never been a hit or miss for me. The Guilty Couple kept up the mystery and had me guessing until the very end why Olivia’s husband accused her of planning to murder him. When Olivia is released after five years she is looking for answers but she isn’t allowed to contact him so she has to be really sneaky about it and I loved all the sneakiness throughout the novel! One of the absolute best scenes where I was literally holding my breath was her stealthy attempt to steal potential evidence from her husband with a little help from her friends.

Olivia reaches out to four friends who really go to the limit for her when the occasion rises; her old business partner, her last cellmate in prison, and two other friends she’s known for a long time. On the other side she fears Dani, a police officer who she thought was a friend but who testified in her husband’s favor. Dani has her own agenda and her biggest concern is finding money to get her sister in a rehab clinic. She’d do anything to help her so she turns to Dominic, Olivia’s husband to get 30.000 dollars, only she notices that Olivia keeps popping up and that unnerves Dani more than a little bit.

Dominic is very secretive all of the time and he’s counting down to something and I had no idea what he had planned but this deadline put the pressure on Olivia’s quest, while that other danger is looming over her too, namely getting caught and being sent back to prison. There were some surprises along the way but the biggest one was definitely at the end. Life after being released from prison certainly isn’t easy for her and it’s difficult to know who you can trust. I can’t say whether she’ll be able to prove her innocence but justice comes in many different ways so I was quite satisfied how the story was wrapped up in the final chapters. The only issue I had was that I wasn’t entirely convinced about her husband’s motive for framing her (I never really got any hate vibes off of him towards his wife and I kept thinking why else he would take such drastic measures) but I readily admit that that doesn’t mean he’s a good guy because he’s most certainly not. So in the end I still wanted pay back for Dom, the sort of husband you better not have!

A good quick read that would be perfect for the holiday read. Fast paced mystery about Olivia who spends 5 years in prison for a crime she did, or didn't commit. Well written and very enjoyable from start to finish.

Another MUST READ from this author. Five years ago Olivia was convicted of plotting to kill her husband. Today she is released and all she wants is her daughter back in her life and find the proof to show that she was framed. This is a tour de force of a crime thriller and so much more. I devoured this book and found it very hard to put down. I had to know the truth!!! And boy what a revelation and definitely not what I was expecting. Who can Olivia trust and how far does her betrayal go???. I loved everything about this book. Gripping, intense and packed to the rafters with tension and suspense. Another easy five stars from this very talented author.

That was one of the better C.L. Taylor books I have read. Olivia Sutherland has just been released from prison, on parole, after serving 5 years of a 10 year sentence for conspiring to murder her husband, Dominic. Her alleged co-conspirator and lover, Jack Law, disappeared and has not been seen since. Olivia is desperate to see her daughter, Grace, who is now 12 years old but Grace doesn’t want to know her. She is also subject to a restraining order and cannot go near Dominic or Grace apart from a few visits with Grace under the supervision of her grandparents - Dominic’s parents.

Liv is staying with her friend, Ayesha, she wants to clear name but has no idea how. But soon she meets up with “Smithy” her former cell mate. Smithy is an accomplished, thief, pickpocket, and lock picker with lots of street smarts so she soon has Liv sneaking around looking for a chink in Dom’s armour. Meanwhile Dom has his own nefarious plans and he has been seeing a lot of Dani - a Detective Sergeant as ‘friends with benefits’. She wants more money from Dom to put her drug addled sister, Casey, through a longer stint of rehab. Dom and Dani have dirt on each other and Dani is really crossing some red lines job wise.

But in this story, things are not as they seem. Everyone has their secrets, there are some very unreliable narrators and some people will stop at nothing to get their way! As Liv learns a few things she realises that she doesn’t really know Dom at all. But worse is to come. She will be betrayed by someone she trusted.

This was a wonderful twisty domestic suspense story. There was a delicious sense of creeping menace throughout. I loved the characters, even the bad guys, as they played their roles to perfection. My nerves were shredding as Liv broke into a few places looking for evidence to clear her name. She is a complete novice at this so, of course, I could relate as I could never do such a thing. I can’t even imagine entering a home where the door is open if no one answers the call.

This was a tautly plotted mystery with plenty of surprises to keep you on your toes. It was a fun, entertaining and suspenseful read. Many thanks to Netgalley and Avon Books UK for the much appreciated arc which I reviewed voluntarily and honestly.

This is an interesting premise about a wrongly convicted wife who is keen to clear her name after being released from prison. Unfortunately, despite enjoying many of this author’s books, this one didn’t really work for me.
I found the characters one dimensional and the storyline slow. There are also too many characters and the first and third person POV felt confusing and out of kilter.

In terms of characters; the 3 key players are: Olivia the wrongly convicted wife, who spends the majority of the book running round like a headless chicken. Dani: who amazingly has time to be a personal trainer whilst also holding down a job as a full time police officer? And the husband Dominic, who is a frustrating bully.

There’s an element that kept me reading in the hope it would improve and there are some decent twists, but, overall, for me, this was a 2* decent read.

Wow, there’s a lot going on in this book! For the most part, I felt that there was too much going on - there were too many characters & storylines to keep track of - the cheating, the betrayals, the possible wrongful conviction & so much more. As I was reading, I found myself disliking the main characters more & more; I generally like thrillers with unlikeable characters, but these three really tried my patience. However, I did feel compelled to keep reading - I just had to know what was going to happen to everyone! Unfortunately, this book was just not for me.

I love this authors addictive writing style and the short snappy chapters always make me read faster…..so much so that l finished this one in under 24 hours! The clever storyline gets the reader involved and invested with alternating chapters told from various characters,leaving you to puzzle who to believe.l was sucked right into the lies manipulation and guilt sprinkled with plenty of twists and turns that this intense and gripping thriller provides. Would l recommend this one…..absolutely!

I loved everything about this book! I switched back and forth between reading and listening and honestly… they’re totally equal! The narrator is fabulous, the writing is phenomenal… the storyline blows my mind!!! I loved it all! The alternating chapters and figuring out who the bad guys are and the fuzzy line between doing what’s right and doing the right thing… absolutely epic! Callie Taylor is in a class all to herself!

Olivia Sutherland, along with her lover, has been convicted of plotting to murder Olivia's husband. Olivia served five years in prison while her lover has been on the run. Her first order of business is to find out why her husband framed her.

I read a lot of thrillers, and I'm used to suspending disbelief, and that's a skill that is required in this story. There are a lot of moving parts, such as police corruption and dual identities, but in my opinion, they only enhanced the thrill.

Thanks to him, their daughter was only allowed minimal contact with Olivia during her incarceration, so their relationship is in tatters and Olivia is anxious to repair this too.

Olivia’s hands are somewhat tied with a restraining order and supervised visits with her daughter. With the help of Smithy, who she met in prison, she is determined to uncover the truth. She soon realises what a conniving and devious man her husband is and that he was not acting alone in setting her up.

You can always guarantee a good thriller of a book from this author, and this book is exceptionally good. The way that the plot twists and turns doesn’t make it difficult to follow. I found it both compelling and nerve racking. Some of the twists come right out of the blue and there are plenty of cliff hangers. I would go as far as to say that this is one of this authors best books and would highly recommend it.

Olivia has been in prison for a crime she didn’t commit, now that she has been released she has two things on her mind, reconnect with her twelve year old daughter and prove her innocence.
I enjoyed the beginning of this book but I began to lose interest about half way through and struggled to finish it. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous books by this author.

I finished this book in one day. It was super quick and the twists and turns kept me flipping pages.

Olivia was framed for hiring someone to murder her husband, Dominic. Five years later, she is walking out of prison with a few things on her to do list; 1) reunite with her daughter, now twelve, 2) prove her innocence 3) take her lying ex-husband down.

Nothing is ever as easy as it seems and her challenges are no different. Dominic has many entanglements and a even more secrets.

With a lot of interesting characters and even more plot twists, the book flew by and it was so interesting!!

Even with more characters than usual in and out of the story, it was easy to keep up and kept things interesting rather than being overwhelming. As soon as a plot twist happened another one would pop up to make things even more interesting. I loved this book for the amount of characters and plot twists. More than the usual book.

The Guilty Couple is yet another excellent pulsating thriller from the skilled pen - or computer - of CL Taylor.

Olivia, found guilty of conspiring to kill her husband is trying to move on with her life, yet also prove her innocence.

The story is told from several conflicting points of view and never fails to fascinate.

Well plotted and well written , this was a worthwhile read that chills as well as entertains.

I’ve read quite a few of C.L. Taylor’s books and I have always enjoyed them and this was no exception. I’m going to say this is a huge rollercoaster of a read and while some things may not make sense when you first read them I promise it all comes together I’m the end. So pay attention!

We start out meeting Olivia who was convicted of trying to murder her husband, Dominic. But she’s innocent. It was a set up, right? What we do know is all she wants to do is reconnect with her daughter and get revenge against her husband for framing her. But the more she investigates the more she realizes how others could be involved and how many lies have been said. The story weaves us deeper and deeper into this convoluted tale, will Olivia make it out alive?

This is going to be the perfect bring to the pool read for any domestic mystery lovers. Grab your copy!
