Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

This was our first Phoebe and Her Unicorn book. My kids grinned throughout the entire book, but some of the humor was lost on them. A couple of references in particular, like the aerobicizing unicorn and the NES vs. Nintendo Switch comment, are more aimed at grown-ups than kids.

I can see where the Calvin and Hobbes comparisons come from.

Overall, the comic strips present fun vignettes, but this is probably a good one for children at the younger end of the middle grade age range to read with their grown-ups, or at least to discuss with their grown-ups, instead of reading it by themselves. For example, the one page with four panels that takes on stereotyping in racism warrants further discussion.

I am always looking for books for my kids that they will enjoy! This book was such a cute read and my kids will love it! I believe children will be able to connect well with the characters in this book, and the dialogue between them. There is a wonderful message that can be taken away from the book! I look forward to reading it to my children!

Thank you, Andrews McMeel, for the advance reading copy.

I just love the engaging manner in which the characters are presented as. I love the dialogues/banter between Phoebe and Marigold, the unicorn.

I feel this series is a good one for the target audience as I feel the main characters express in the best ways what they want to say. The presentation is clever and creative. It's colourful and as mentioned before, really engaging.

The young readers will gain so much from each book in this series. It's not different with this one as well.

The only area I am not quite satisfied is the art sequence/presentation in most parts. However,
I am sure the book will come out much better when it comes out in the physical format.
