I am a huge Enola Holmes fan, and this graphic novel was a treat, I loved the artwork and thought the journals entries were a fun summary of each story. I just wish the same amount of space would have been dedicated to just one graphic novel, instead of three. By making them so short, the reader misses out on how clever Enola is.

Ideal for fans of the two Netflix films, this is a great way for reluctant readers to explore the Victorian setting and strong female characters. I appreciated that this collection covered several of the Enola Holmes' novels, adding additional value and interest.

This is really enjoyable and fun! A classic and awesome Enola Holmes adventure which is perfect for a middle school and up. I can’t wait for the next novel. I loved the artwork!

🔍 The artwork is absolutely gorgeous! As the story elements changed, so did the color palette of the images. It was an effective way to influence the atmosphere of the narrative.

🔎 The plots are not diluted like some graphic novel adaptations I’ve read. You will get all the necessary information for a fulfilling story and the artwork definitely fills in where needed.

🔎The book is 192 pages and could be read quite quickly by an experienced reader. It is targeted to readers ages 9 to 12 years.

🔍 I highly recommend Enola Holmes stories in general, and these graphic novels in particular. Enola is a strong female character who challenges gender norms in a time when that was unusual.

Cute story, great characters (that has a wonderful female main character!), and the artwork was lovely. I think these are great books!

There were some parts in this story that I did like, I also really like the artist style. But some of the stories I felt like the writer only added things to keep up with the times and didn't add anything to the stories, rather than just having a good tale.

A great read the characters were interesting and the story was intriguing. Will look out for more by this author.

God. I just came back reading this graphic novel version after watching the films on Netflix and it made this reading journey even more enjoyable! I genuninely like the watercolor style, especially with how the color shades and light/dark tones are used for different atmospheres in different scenes as the plot developes. Another thing I really like is the bonus contents (I love bonus contents, yes thank you. Please give me more.), not gonna spill too much here, but the whole combination makes this book very enjoyable. I do hope the Blasco finishes this graphic novel series.

I know that Enola Holmes is quite popular and this beautiful graphic novel is a fantastic companion/addition to collections! I enjoyed following Enola (and Mycroft and Sherlock)'s adventures through the illustrations in this edition. A particular highlight was the secret notebook at the end of each story/section.

I highly recommend this as a needed addition to juvenile collections in public, school, and home libraries.

Perfect for fans of the film on Netflix this graphic novel adaptation of the Enola Holmes stories is sure to be enjoyed by readers aged 9+ particularly those who enjoy mystery and adventure stories with strong female protagonists and a dash of humour. This collection includes the first three stories in the series, each of which is a highly enjoyable read in it's own right. I especially liked the illustration style used throughout and can see this being a great springboard for developing readers into the broader genre of mystery/detective novels.

Content: clean, but at the very end there is a little ah ha moment about a murder.

I found this book absolutely delightful. I love that it's broken up into three cases, all of which are solved by a clever and feisty 14 year old girl instead of her notably brilliant detective of a brother.

The Enola Holmes stories find the delicate balance required in middle grade mysteries between genuine stakes and a lack of gruesome details. Enola investigates actual crime: theft, kidnapping, smuggling, etc. Her life is at times threatened, making for an exciting read, but never goes over the top. Enola herself also finds a balance between doing things her own way and fitting into societal expectations. This is a series that will work well for readers who enjoy a more historical setting. This volume is comprised of three stories, each telling a complete mystery of it's own while also contributing to a larger series plot. The text works in concert with dynamic illustrations to tell a charming tale.

This was so fun and I really loved the art style. I loved watching the Netflix film and was wanting to read the books and am so glad that I stumbled upon the graphic novel versions. The art style was really unique and I look forward to reading more from the series!

I am not typically a graphic novel reader. I have, however, read the Enola Holmes books and wanted to see how the graphic novel measured up to the original.

First of all, I have to say that I love the concept of Sherlock Holmes having a younger sister. The fact that she is as clever (or possibly more so) than her famous brother is even more entertaining. I will say that while the reading level of the book is upper elementary and middle grade, the subject matter is still a bit macabre so I would recommend it for ages 10 and up.

In Book One, Enola (readers will be clued in on the significance of her name) discovers that her mother has disappeared. Then ensues a bit of sleuthing on her part to figure out where she went and--more importantly--why she left (on Enola's birthday of all days!). She enlists the help of her brothers, Sherlock and Mycroft to solve the mystery.

The graphic novel retelling of this book was excellently done. The essentials of the story were kept in line with the original and I think this version makes the story more accessible to a variety of reading levels. This format also helps bring the story to life for visual learners and readers who may have difficulty focusing on a full page of print. It can be a challenge to find graphic novels with appropriate content for younger audiences. Parents will be relieved that this book is not only free of profanity but refreshingly free of women with exaggerated bustlines (that so often permeate superhero comics). I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading more of Enola's adventures in this colorful and engaging format!

I have watched the Enola Homes first season on Netflix and found it a mixed bag. The way the series was taken and the acting was all quite well done. I did not enjoy the portrayal of Mycroft because it felt extremely jarring from the original, and this was the main reason that I did not enjoy it as much as I could have.
This graphic novel is a collection of three stories set in the same world, and I was glad that there were two more stories because the first was a scene-by-scene match to the series. This last part is not a flaw exactly, just something most people should know going in. The art was fabulous, and that was the thing I relished the most about this book. The people and the surroundings are very vibrant and linger past the read.
I will not go into the details of the plot. If you have not heard of Enola Holmes yet, then all you need to know is that she is the much younger sister of Sherlock, whose mother tried to raise her as a feminist in the world they lived in then. It is not an easy world for someone like Enola, but the adventures and scrapes she gets into are entertaining to the reader.
This collection is not a complete one. Enola's mother, who goes missing in the very beginning, is still missing by the end of it. That part of the story is not revealed. I believe there is a further collection which might wrap that part up.
My rating is more for the graphic novel part (i.e. the art) than the plotline. Although interesting, it is not much of a draw to me (I do not think the stories are bad, just not for me).
I am not sure what kind of audience I can recommend this to, so I leave it to the discerning reader of this review to decide based on all that I have said above.

This book was delightful. After watching the Netflix series about Enola Holmes I just knew I had to read this. The story was quick and kept my interest the whole way through.

The illustrations are beautiful. I can’t wait to get my hands on a paper copy.

I had a hard time putting this graphic novel down. We see Enola go on a search to find their mother. But their siblings are looking for her which causes her to come up with a number of disguises. Along the way they end up solving some pretty amazing cases. As this graphic novel comes to a close it looks like the adventure has only just begun.

I am a huge fan of the Enola Holmes series, and I like wanted to read the graphic novel adaptation to these series! I have to say this was a delightful treat! I love the artwork! The artwork was very beautiful and gorgeous! I thought the graphic novel captured the essence of the story very well! I hope there will be more graphic novel in these series!
