Not a fan. I had a lot of trouble getting attached to the characters. Your thrown into the story and spend 80% of the book playing catch up. Once you are caught up its over and ends very very abruptly. I honestly wondered if I was missing a few pages. Can't say I will pick up the sequal.

2 1/2 stars. I had a hard time getting into the book. Although it is the fourth book in a series (I didn't even realize it was the fourth book in a series until I started to write this review) it is easy to understand what is going on. The writing is fine, There is romance, action, science fiction and fantasy. I just didn't really connect to the characters. In part I think because the the forever love between the main character and the princess just seemed a bit contrived. I didn't feel it.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This one took me forever to get in to....turns out space operas might not be my think. I enjoyed the premise though!

Mystical, magical with a touch of romance between two childhood friends. But the love story has its challenges.

Star Rider Book 4, so technically I'm in the middle of the series, but I think this book can be a standalone in terms of how the story enfolds and yet at the end kept you hanging.

An average read for me.

Thank you Netgalley & BooksGoSocial for the ARC.

This was an interesting read. A bit hard to get into, but then the pace picked up and the story rolled along.

I did enjoy the story set up of the character being imprisoned and telling his story to a fellow prisoner. It was a good way to tie together the story and keep me reading until the end. A sci-fi setting of journeying to other planets, a bad guy trying to take over the galaxy, and the fight against him. Some romance thrown in, boy falls for princess and princess decides to marry another for political reasons.

I hope there is a sequel. Hard to decipher on Goodreads if one of the author’s other books is a continuation of this story….

Call Of The Wind is a Sci Fi Space Opera with a touch of Fantasy. While it is about young love, it leans more on the spiritual elements. It brings to mind all the questions we’ve ever had about death, reincarnation, astral projection, magic, and salvation of the soul. Skarie takes all these elements and pits them against each other to produce a riveting story that leaves our souls clamoring for more.
While the war Baymond is fighting is a physical one, one can clearly see that by the way Samrat Condor had planned to kill Michio it is also a spiritual war. The war is not only to conquer and subdue territories but also to conquer the minds and spirits of people to forever bury the chances of a rebellion by depriving them of spiritual knowledge. Skarie uses biblical illusion almost paralleling the Christian God ‘’Jesus’’ whose war with Satan was more spiritual than militaristic. Master Michio’s role in this book is that of a Pastor pressed with the duty of imparting spiritual knowledge to believers and non-believers and Baymonds role is that of a Pastor’s son. With their knowledge of the secret teachings, they are a threat to a powerful sorcerer like Samrat Condor.

This is my first book by this author and I didn't know it was in the middle of a series, it definitely can be read as a stand alone but it does feel like I was missing something a few times
A fantasy with many mystical elements, accents of Buddhism and other religions, with a teenage protagonist who has many lives behind him and is aware of it, and who must fight against an intergalactic threat of unprecedented cruelty, all that was ok, however the world and the fantasy doesn't seem right, the whole time I was thinking of magical medieval vibes and then got sucked out of it with the guns and flying ships, I just couldn't get into it.

A deeply spiritual pilot, joins the military to fight evil. He's shot down on a planet at the edge of galaxy and hides amongst aliens until caught. I enjoyed the book. The characters are well developed and the plot progresses at a nice pace. Looking forward to the sequel.

All good and well-written too, but...
But I would like to understand who had the brilliant idea of splitting in two what was clearly a very long book, without closing in a structured way the first part, which in fact seems incomplete.
Of course, selling two volumes makes more money than selling one, but the book would have deserved a minimum of work to make this cheap trick attractive to the reader.

Thank you to the author and publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review. I just couldn't get into this book. I am not sure why but this was book I picked up at least 20 times to try and read and ended up rereading a lot. I think I will have to come back to this one eventually but its not one that had me staying up all night reading.

Wow! Okay so in the beginning, I wasn't so much into this book. However, after a few chapters I was hooked! The author's writing is definitely good but not my usual preferred style. I did enjoy this book though! A splash of romance, sci-fi vibes and a slap in the face ending. I felt like it left me on the edge... definitely makes you want to read more.

I enjoyed many of the concepts in this book but found it dragged in spots. That's just me, though. I will look for the next book to see what happens.

This is my first book by this author and although I picked it up in the middle of a series it definitely can be read as a stand alone. However, be aware that it does have a bit of a cliffhanger ending!

I had a little bit of a hard time getting into it at first, but it really only took a couple chapters before I was completely sucked in and really got into the story. There is a bit of a dual timeline happening (with the main character telling the story to another character), which I actually didn't mind. I liked how the story built gradually and came together at the end and honestly the love story between two of the main characters was the most enticing part of this story.

I didn't LOVE the writing, but technically it was well-written. I just enjoy more character building and dialog in my books, and I felt like there could have a been more of this in the book. Maybe it's because I didn't get a chance to read the previous books where some of the development already happened.

If you enjoy sci-fy and a bit of romance and fantasy and are looking to visit a whole new world, this was a entertaining read and I'm excite to read the next book. I'm really glad I was given the chance to read and review it!

Thank you to the publisher, the author and Netgalley for the opportunity to give an honest review of this book!

I really enjoyed reading this book and discovered that once I started there was no putting it down. I finished it in one night, it was that good. It moves along at a great pace, has interesting characters and a story that does not disappoint. This book needs to be read, there is no doubt about it.
