I really enjoyed reading this book and discovered that once I started there was no putting it down. I finished it in one night, it was that good. It moves along at a great pace, has interesting characters and a story that does not disappoint. This book needs to be read, there is no doubt about it.

This is my first book by this author and although I picked it up in the middle of a series it definitely can be read as a stand alone. However, be aware that it does have a bit of a cliffhanger ending!

I had a little bit of a hard time getting into it at first, but it really only took a couple chapters before I was completely sucked in and really got into the story. There is a bit of a dual timeline happening (with the main character telling the story to another character), which I actually didn't mind. I liked how the story built gradually and came together at the end and honestly the love story between two of the main characters was the most enticing part of this story.

I didn't LOVE the writing, but technically it was well-written. I just enjoy more character building and dialog in my books, and I felt like there could have a been more of this in the book. Maybe it's because I didn't get a chance to read the previous books where some of the development already happened.

If you enjoy sci-fy and a bit of romance and fantasy and are looking to visit a whole new world, this was a entertaining read and I'm excite to read the next book. I'm really glad I was given the chance to read and review it!

Thank you to the publisher, the author and Netgalley for the opportunity to give an honest review of this book!

Wow! Okay so in the beginning, I wasn't so much into this book. However, after a few chapters I was hooked! The author's writing is definitely good but not my usual preferred style. I did enjoy this book though! A splash of romance, sci-fi vibes and a slap in the face ending. I felt like it left me on the edge... definitely makes you want to read more.

I didn't expect to actually like the book. But here we are, we never really know what happens once you open a book, and realize you couldn't put it down. Yep, I finished it immediately, it was that interesting. Hoping for more books like this.

A deeply spiritual pilot, joins the military to fight evil. He's shot down on a planet at the edge of galaxy and hides amongst aliens until caught. I enjoyed the book. The characters are well developed and the plot progresses at a nice pace. Looking forward to the sequel.

Call Of The Wind is a Sci Fi Space Opera with a touch of Fantasy. While it is about young love, it leans more on the spiritual elements. It brings to mind all the questions we’ve ever had about death, reincarnation, astral projection, magic, and salvation of the soul. Skarie takes all these elements and pits them against each other to produce a riveting story that leaves our souls clamoring for more.
While the war Baymond is fighting is a physical one, one can clearly see that by the way Samrat Condor had planned to kill Michio it is also a spiritual war. The war is not only to conquer and subdue territories but also to conquer the minds and spirits of people to forever bury the chances of a rebellion by depriving them of spiritual knowledge. Skarie uses biblical illusion almost paralleling the Christian God ‘’Jesus’’ whose war with Satan was more spiritual than militaristic. Master Michio’s role in this book is that of a Pastor pressed with the duty of imparting spiritual knowledge to believers and non-believers and Baymonds role is that of a Pastor’s son. With their knowledge of the secret teachings, they are a threat to a powerful sorcerer like Samrat Condor.
