Another wonderful read by Skye Jordan. In this one we follow Tucker, who we have met before, and Lacey. I really enjoyed these two. It wasn’t a romance at first sight kind of book… sex yeah but not love. They had to work at being together and I enjoyed the fight.

This story shows that we all have a past and sometimes we need to work through our past to have a future.

I really enjoyed the look into the first two books of the Forged In Fire series.

Skye Jordan is quickly becoming one of my go to authors. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. Another enjoyable read!

This book can absolutely be read as a standalone but I do recommend the previous books in the series just because they are good reads as well. In this one we get Tucker and Lacey's story. Tucker has a rescue go bad and is struggling because of it. It makes him question himself on all levels. And where once he was happy with his meaningless affairs, now he wonders what he has missed by only going into temporary fun. Lacey has a great career as a photographer but her parents and her past with them make her insecure. When she meets Tucker, she think its just for one night-but when she learns that he lied about who he is and that he made a bet about her, she questions her decisions all over again. But when she needs help with her brother, Tucker steps up and shows that there is more to him than what she thought. Now they both have to decide if what they could have is worth the work they would need to put in in order to have it.

I really liked this story. Tucker and Lacey have this instant chemistry that you can't help but love. But they also have real people issues and that made them much more relatable in my opinion. I know exactly how Lacey feels with having issues with her parents, and honestly-I loved that about her!! Not that she had to deal with it but that it was something that I have dealt with my whole life, and it just made me feel like someone else gets it! I loved that this story showed that there is more to Tucker than just the man who lives for one-night stands. He has his own issues and is finally forced to deal with them if he wants Lacey. The way this story played out was done in a way that sucked me in and kept me reading, all while not wanting it to end.

I've read a few of this authors books. While I enjoy them while reading, I end up forgetting about the author until another book comes out. This book had so much emotion and growing that I think I'll remember her from now on. Solid spice levels, love interest fit the main H perfectly. 4⭐

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley and happily give my honest opinion- Having read the first 2 books in the series I wasn’t sure Tucker would be one of my favourites, but I definitely fell for him. Lacey arrived in his life while he is still trying to get over a tragedy at work. She is beautiful, smart, talented and only in town for a short time for a friends wedding. Exactly the type of girl he likes! They spark immediately and things get hot very quickly. They both expect this to be a fling, but neither of them have ever felt anything like this before and it throws both of them. They try to keep things casual, but they both see things in each other no one else does. They both bring out the best in each other. I originally thought of Tucker as a player, who doesn’t take anything but work seriously. He is so much more! He is strong, loyal, hot, caring and loves to help other. Lacey has been made to feel small by her parents and thinks she needs to prove herself. Tucker let’s her see how special she really is. Their time together comes to an end and Lacey has to leave. They both need to be willing to compromise if they want to be together.

This story I went into not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, as Tucker was not my favourite character from the other two books. However, with his own story we were able to see that he is not the shallow f@#kboy that he was portrayed to be initially. Instead he was a loyal friend, dedicated firefighter with his head on straight, who had his heart broken and his dream of a family ripped away from him.
Lacey was the perfect match for him, as she gave as good as she got and didn't take any crap. She was independent, badass whom Tucker had to show that their relationship was worth taking chance on.
Really enjoy this series and looking forward to the next book.

I think I've found a new favorite writer. This was such an amazing story. The author thoughtfully wrote all of the big characters and out her heart into the main characters. I was gutted and crying in parts and totally obsessed and sucked into the spicy parts. This is for sure the best romance I've read in a long time. Equal parts great plot and great spice. I cant rave enough about this story!

You can always count on a story with action from Skye Jordan and these firefighters do their best to save others. You can also count on a heat level as hot as the fires they fight. This is Tucker’s and Lacey’s story. There is so much more to Tucker than the notorious flirt and playboy image that he shows the world. Of course, he is also known as a serious, dedicated firefighter which the opening scene reinforces. Lacey is just as dedicated but puts on a carefree face to the world not much different from Tucker. Gripping action scenes in this book with the romance balancing them out. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes characters who are serious and fun. An irresistible combination

The third book in Forged in Fire, Playing with Fire is full of action, emotion, and depth. Tucker and Lacey are troubled characters with much to resolve, the story surround them is engaging and in depth. I think this is a fabulous addition to this series and would recommend to other readers.

Playing with Fire is the 3rd book in the Forged in Fire series. Tucker and Lacey have smoking hot chemistry and an instant camaraderie from the moment they meet. Due to their circumstances - him being a firefighter/search and rescue and she working overseas as a photograper, they must find a way to overcome their differences, each while dealing with their own personal family and relationship traumas. I love the secondary characters in this series as well - her brother and the fire station family as the book covers not only their relationship but their relationships with those close to them. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

This was a quick, easy and fun read that was enaging all the way through. I havent read many books with a fireman as a main character but I realised how much I like it when I was reading this. It was well written with good characters and a good storyline with just the right amount of romance and steam. I really enjoyed it.

Received this arc for an honest review.

Tucker a firefighter and a person that only did one night's stand changed the night he lost a man during a flood. The man was to get married but instead died now Tucker can only think about him, he still does his job but that is about it. Until he sees Lacey walk into the bar, hit it off, and though neither wants a relationship they end up spending time together.
Lacey a photographer is in town to take photos for a friend's wedding, she also finds out that her brother is in a hospital and works at getting him released. Both Lacey and Tucker have a lot of issues that are similar yet still run away from commitment. The story is full of emotion and the characters will keep you going. The ending was really good and overall just a fantastic book and very much worth the read.

Two star-crossed lovers who can’t be together is not a new concept, yet when Skye Jordan writes their story, she brings it to life. Tucker and Lacey are made for each other, yet Lacey is unwilling to make it work even seeing that Tucker is the real deal. In reality, it does seem to be insurmountable. Ms. Jordan doesn’t give her readers fluff, man and woman fall in love, woman gives up career for love. Life doesn’t work that way and I for one am appreciative of how it did work for Tucker and Lacey. A compromise and their very own happily ever after.
While this is the third in the series, you can read this as a standalone but please do yourself a favor and go back and read the others too, you’ll be glad you did.

This was a really fun read...I read it in one day, just didn't want to stop :). I enjoyed the characters, development and heat of the story!

I simply loved everything about this book, Both Lacey and Tucker were easy characters to like and it was easy to root for them to succeed and to find love and their stories were well developed. They had lust at first sight that continued throughout the book. The development of their relationship was certainly fast-paced but made sense in the overall time frame of the story.

I was hooked during the first chapter and couldn’t put it down. Lacey has come back to a place where she has conflicted feelings. This town was a place where she met her best friend but it was also an area where she had bad memories dealing with her family. She has returned for her best friends wedding. The first night in town she goes to a bar and finds a guy that checks all of her boxes. Hot, funny, and perfect one night stand material. Tucker was ready to get back in the saddle, after having suffered a tragic loss while he was working as a SAR swimmer. When he sees Lacey come into the bar he knows this would be the perfect person for one night of fun. Little do they know that the one night will change their lives forever. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

From the very powerful opener to the book to the dramatic ending, this tale is a joy. The emotion of Tucker and Lacey is really well told and we see their work issues, care for their community and upset from Lacey’s troubled family through their eyes. Whilst the relationship does seemed doomed from the start, you really care for our couple and will them on through the misunderstandings and the geographical distance, as well as the walls that get put up.

Playing with Fire by Skye Jordan

Lacey is a world class photographer with killer looks. She walks in to a local bar and is taken with the bartender and his remarkable looks and persona. There is an immediate chemistry between them but Lacey is only in town for her best friends wedding and she doesn’t do relationships. Tucker is everything a woman wants sexy, stunning to look at firefighter also part owner of the bar. He is passionate about his job in the extreme and cares about people, kind and compassionate on the inside. He doesn’t do commitments or relationships as had a bad experience in the past.

An easy fast read with many threads to it and fun characters with the occasional steamy moments .

Enjoyable read Skye Jordan doesn’t disappoint. 4.5/5

Skye did not disappoint. What a steamy read! Firefighters aside, it was great to see the development of the characters, the empowerment of women in a relationship, and just the family sense of this community. I look forward to reading more and looking up other titles in this series.
