Ghost of A Promise is a sexy, supernatural thriller centered around a 200 year old family mystery. Full of interesting characters and ghostly hijinks, A Ghost of a Promise is a great start to a new series.
Thank you to Netgalley and Kelly Moran for the opportunity to read and review this title, all opinions and mistakes are my own.

Really enjoy this! I love the paranormal and do paranormal investigations myself. I appreciated the definitions in the front of the book for those who don't know what the equipment is. Spooky love story that was just what I needed. If you enjoy ghosts, paranormal investigations, romance and haunted house you will enjoy this. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

An absolutely amazing love story. Throw in ghosts from over 200 years ago and it’s magic.

Ava Trumble needs to find solid proof of what happened to Sarah Kerrick, true love of her ancestor, Peter Trumble, or she will lose the Trumble mansion.

Enter, Jackson, host and lead investigator for the paranormal TV show Phantoms.
It’s a beautifully written tale of love, loss, grief and finding home. Knowing you aren’t alone and peace which comes from belonging.

All the characters are very interesting and I’m looking forward to reading more about them.
This was the first book in the Phantoms trilogy.

Thank you NetGalley for the e-book in exchange for my honest review.

It took me a couple chapters, but I really enjoyed this book!

Ava and Jackson are great leading characters with enough chemistry to make you swoon. The secondary cast of characters add a lot to the story, and make me excited to see more of them in future books. It’s a really well built set of characters.

The plot of the story worked really well for me too. There’s just enough mystery behind the haunting of Ava’s family house and history between their two families to make their hesitations and concerns plausible—for the most part. There were a couple of times where I got aggravated at Ava’s response.

I rounded to 4 stars, but I’m probably more at 3.5 since it took me a bit more to get into the book. I am looking forward to the next book.

A big thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the beginning of a new series. This book was just plain fun. I liked all the characters, well except for maybe her parents (they were a bit odd). Ava's aunt put undue pressure on her to solve a 230 year old mystery to the satisfaction of a lawyer. What?? This cozy mystery will surprise you, with the interesting modern day ghost busters! 4 stars The next book sounds fun as well. I think most romance, and cozy mystery readers will enjoy this book.

Ava Trumble has always loved her family's mansion, ghosts, and all. When her aunt passes and leaves the mansion to her, there is just one catch; she needs to discover what happened to one of the ghosts, or else she loses the estate to the historical society. Jackson and his ghost hunting crew are her last hope to solve this mystery. I could NOT put this book down and ended up reading it in one sitting! From the first page, it grabbed me and kept ahold of me until the very end. The story flowed so eloquently, and the romance between Jackson and Ava was steamy! If you love paranormal and romance, then read this book!

I was originally interested in this book because I'm a huge paranormal enthusiast and I particularly love ghost stories and this one sounded intriguing.

First off, I very much enjoyed the haunted house aspect of this story, it was compelling and had an engaging backstory. The fact that the paranormal team that came to investigate were depicted as down-to-earth investigators who wanted scientific proof was refreshing. There are so many shows and storylines with the investigators jumping at every sound saying "what's that" and just trying to provoke the spirits and that very much isn't what I enjoy. Also, the discussions of the different types of hauntings and the equipment used was awesome and really brought out the paranormal nerd in me.

I wasn't sure about the level of romance this book was going to have and I was a bit worried at the beginning that the romance would be the main focus and overshadow the ghost story plot but once I realized that the romance in the book was directly attached to the haunting backstory, I was more compelled to enjoy it. I'm not someone who enjoys romance in my fiction and it was a bit heavy in places, but that is a personal preference and I understand the target audience in this case.

Overall this was an enjoyable story. There were a few places where things nagged at me like the stereotype of someone with piercings and dressed in black would identify as goth and love anything scary which is a misconception and a few other very small things. It didn't take me out of the story though so again, it was personal preference. 3/5 stars.

I love Kelly Morans paranormal romances. While they are heavy on the romance, I find i dont mind it. I think that's entirely because of her writing style. This one was a particularly well written story. I loved Ava so much, and I wanted her to have everything. The paranormal team Phantoms was also a delight. I just loved how this story unfolded, and how each character interacted, and connected. Thank you Kelly for another wonderful story!

(I will be posting on my goodreads, storygraph, and tiktok)

I received this from netgalley. I enjoyed this one. I've been in a paranormal romance mood. So Ava inherits her Aunt's haunted house but she has to solve a 200 year old mystery to be able to keep the house or else it will be given to the historical society. She brings in a team of paranormal investigators from a TV show to help her out. If she can talk to the ghosts maybe they can help her solve the mystery. Of course there is a sexy guy on the team and they fall for each other. I liked that Ava and Jackson both had their own issues that they were going through as well. The ending is a little unbelievable but I'm reading a book with ghosts so you know. I wouldn't mind continuing the series.

4.5 Ghostly Stars!

An old creepy haunted house, threat of losing said house, a century or so old mystery, a curse, ghosts, paranormal investigators, and a woman, Ava, determined to save it at all costs, including her staying single… forever.
Too bad the lead investigator, Jackson, is super-hot and determined to flirt with her at every possible opportunity. But this thing between them seems way too intense and giving off major
déjà vu.

Meanwhile the ghosts are running amok and causing all kinds of trouble.
I used to watch Ghost Hunters constantly (no not the one with Zack Baggins, that’s Ghost Adventures).

I absolutely love this concept. Ghosts, Paranormal Investigators, Romance, what more could you want!?

I loved reading about the behind the scenes of the investigation.
The relationships between the crew were developed and intriguing at times.
Most of the characters were likeable, the small-town vibe was spot on.

My only issues were that Ava was way too stubborn about accepting her feelings for
Jackson. Give it up already, literally and figuratively!

I was also hoping for some more drama between the other potential heirs to the house. It would’ve made the stakes higher and the ending that much more satisfying.

I’ve already read the second book, Give Up the Ghost, and it was even better than the first. I am currently, impatiently, awaiting the third to be released.

Check them Out!

A big thanks to the Publisher & NetGalley for gifting me a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

WOW....This book was brilliant! I've never read anything from this author but I will be looking for more of her books. The story was well paced, the characters well developed and the dynamic between Ava and Jackson was perfect. I really enjoyed this story

Ghost of A Promise is a win for me. This is such a wonderful take on the the paranormal romance genre. I loved the premise as I am a huge fan of ghost hunting shows. Honestly, I don't have much to say except that this is going to be my new comfort series. I read a lot of "comfort" books to get me out of a slump and Kelly Moran's Ghost of a Promise actually pulled me back to reading. I can't wait to read her next book.

As a romance story this is a two-star book. The characters are a little flat and if there weren't “fated bloodlines” in play the chemistry would feel non-existent. As a result that aspect felt contrived and like it only existed to further the (much more interesting!) plot. The chemistry between other characters did add some flair so in that respect seeing how the series developed could be fun.

However, as a cozy mystery series that centers around a paranormal research group? This is a five-star read. The redeeming bits of this book were all in the mystery solving and the establishment of this world’s ghost mythos. Having re-branded this as a spooky mystery series (and not a SF/S romance) I am already excited to read the nest book that was teased at the end of this one.

In this book, Ava inherits her family estate off the coast in Maine. She has plans to turn it into a Bed and Breakfast however her Aunt has left one stipulation for her to inherit. The mansion is haunted and has a history and Ava must solve the 200 hundred year old mystery of the disappearance of a young girl or the Historical Society will inherit. Ava enlist the help of a paranormal investigating team and of course she and the handsome host, Jackson seem to trigger some occurrences.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The writing was fantastic and I felt like I was there with the investigating team. If you like stories with ghosts, a haunted house and a good love story, this is the book for you. I am anxious to read more by Kelly Moran.

When Ava needs help to solve and mystery and keep ownership of a family mansion that she hopes to turn into a bed and breakfast, she seeks the help of a ghost hunting reality television show. This haunting romance will intrigue readers and keep them engaged.

Ava must solve a two hundred year old mystery in order to inherit her aunt’s house which she hopes to turn into a B & B. When she brings in the team from a ghost-hunting tv show she gets more than she bargained for. Show host Jackson has a connection to the old house and as soon as the two meet, sparks fly! Personally, I didn’t find this book at all scary—just delightfully suspenseful. The author did a great job of developing the relationship with a bit help from the ghosts. The supernatural elements were well-handled, taken seriously without being over the top. A great start to a series!

So - just a word of advice - I wouldn't recommend reading this before bed. I'm a total wuss when it comes to scary movies and shows - so take that with a grain of salt - but still I got chills more than once reading this one. In fact I would rate this as a 5 star ghost story - but for me was more of a 3 star romance.

Ava Trumble - like other women in her family - has a deep connection with a home that has been in her family since before the American Revolution. Her great Aunt has recently died and left the home to Ava - on the condition that she find out what actually happened to the woman who died there. To help figure out what happened - Ava calls in the team from the television show Phantoms to help investigate the ghosts in the house and find out more. The show's host - Jackson - is a distant relative of the other family involved in the mysterious disappearance so long ago. When he meets Ava - their instant connection is apparent.

I adored the paranormal aspects of this book - it is an extremely well written and vivid ghost story. The romance side to it - was a bit of a miss for me. As much as I loved Ava and Jackson when they were sweet and sexy together - I hated when they weren't. Ava is extremely distrustful of Jackson. Like - extremely. To the point of me really not understanding it. He hasn't been in the same place for long enough to start a relationship with someone for a long time. And his parents divorce clearly had a big impact on him. But that doesn't explain Ava's almost cruel level of scoffing at him and pushing him away. I am not sure what Ava's basis for this was really. She clearly felt she had to choose between a relationship and her house - and she chose the house. But it still felt like we were missing something. I think some more depth was needed to that part of the story to better understand her and to maybe make the resolution of that side of things more satisfying.

Overall - I definitely recommend!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions (and shivers) are all my own.

Ava is given a task to solve a mystery from the revolutionary war era. Her family home is known for being haunted, but many points are not known. When Jackson and his tv group of ghost hunters show up to help, the sparks fly. The ghosts also help them, as they also want a resolution. Good story overall, although some of the dialog and wording reminded me of how young they were. At times I felt Ava acted liked a teenager, but may just be me. Look forward to the next in the series, as this is book 1 of 3. Would recommend.

This story pulled me in right from the start. Jackson and Ava had immediate chemistry and fight it for a good chunk of the book. The writing was a bit choppy in some parts, but overall it was a great ghost story with just enough mystery, romance, and conflict. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
