Honestly I was tempted to dnf this at many points. It tried to be edgy and cool, with no new information. If you are currently a teenager (who I believe this books target audience is) and have just discovered you have anxiety or have realised you have alot of anxious tendencies, and have never before looked into help, then sure maybe give this a go, it has all the basics in here and is probably a good starting point to figure out what works for you.

I found the book very cringe and it was trying to be 'hip' but hey maybe it succeeded? Also the last 15% fully turns into an activity book for some reason, which made no sense as the odd activity had been worked in to the rest of the sections.

Honestly this could help alot of people, but it didn't help me and gave me no new Information.

Thanks to @netgalley for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book has a number of helpful ways to deal with anxiety. The way the information was presented made me feel like my friend was talking to me.

I have tried to read so many other books surrounding anxiety, but I found this one to be the best one yet! Not only did this book provide a wealth of information that was new and interesting to me but it also elevated itself with the graphics that were used throughout the book. If you are interested in reading about anxiety and ways to combat it, as well as ways that it is triggered, this is the book for you! I have already recommended this to so many others.

I absolutely loved this book! And actually caught myself laughing out loud a couple of times!
Let's start with the design and illustrations: so beautiful! The details were incredible and the overall look so curated. I loved how the book offers almost 100 concrete methods to help with anxiety and doesn't only discuss what anxiety is. Also, I really appreciated the fact that the author inserted useful resources at the end of the book. A great read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel for the opportunity to preview the e-galley in exchange for an honest book.

Full disclosure—I ran out of time and was unable to complete the book before it vanished from my shelf. BUT—I plan to buy it in the very near future! I must have my own hard copy of this book!

I am the sort of person who finds things like breathing exercises really boring…BUT, the way this book presented them was so amusing that I wanted to do them and share them with everyone I know!

And when I realized that there were coloring pages and mazes and word searches at the end…
Yep, I need this book. And if you ever experience any type of anxiety (and who doesn’t these days?) chances are, you need it too. Unless you’re offended by “language”. Then it’s probably not for you. But for me—5 stars!

This was quite helpful. I found some of the ideas interesting, some slightly repetitive. But it was still a nice book to read if you are a generally anxious person, like me.

I don’t know how to say this any other way, but I felt seen and heard with this book! It felt like I had someone with me who understood what I was dealing with, sometimes on a daily basis. Douglas provided tips and exercises that helped me get out of my own head and my own way.

It was like I was talking to a friend who was there to help, without judgment. With that said, this isn’t the kind of book you do in one sitting. It’s ok to read this in parts. One of the things I appreciated about this was this wasn’t a book specifically written for academics. The tips are easy to integrate into your everyday life.

I should note that for anyone who has issues with curses, this may not be the book for you. However, this book is highly informative without being overwhelming. If I had to provide criticism, this book seems geared toward women or anyone who identifies as female.

This is one that I will be referring to over and over again. Thank you to NetGalley and Andrew McMeel Publishing!

I loved the tone of this book, positive and upbeat with suggestions galore to help anxiety be less of a burden!
Everyone will find the layout and terminology quirky and relatable. The immediate remedy approach is excellent, assistance to stop a panic attack developing is instantly available!
Perhaps more masculine touches are needed, overall an enjoyable and straight forward handbook to soothe those anxious thoughts!

Many thanks to the publisher, NetGalley and author for allowing me to review this book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thanks to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC of this!

“People only remember their own mistakes, not mine. So I can let those memories go.” I thought this was such a profound thought, even if I’m not sure I totally believe it. This was a concise, easy to follow self-help book with a focus on anxiety (obviously) and I liked the tone the author took a lot. There were a lot of suggestions that I’ve come across already trying to deal with anxiety, but I think it did a great job of gathering and organizing those helpful hints.

Very blunt. Very real. Very useful. WARNING: If you are turned off by cursing this is NOT the book for you. Lots of great practical advice-some to do in the moment and some longer term ideas. I love the word searches, labyrinths and color by number pages! If you are experiencing anxiety (and, really, who isn’t these days) this book offers a wide range of solutions.

F*ck anxiety! Yeah right?

The title charmed me (obv) so I downloaded an e-arc from Netgalley and find out what it's about.

Turns out, this is a handbook for many things: dealing with stress, anxiety, and even has tips on caring for your mental health.

I was so surprised to find out some of it's content reflect the things I already. I mean, wow, I guess I'm handling my anxiety quite well.

It was also written with a humorous modern voice, which I enjoyed. Second only to the activities they added at the back portion (I hope I owned a physical copy lol).

Reminder that there is no absolute way of dealing with anxiety, you gotta find our what works for you best. F*ck Anxiety will give you tips, and I hope that if you do read it, that you find what works.

Absolutely BLOODY loved this book!
I really struggle with anxiety; I have CBT and have dabbled in medications for it and this feels like the next step. I've already pre-ordered it on Amazon.

This isn't a book to read and then put into place; it's one to pick up when you're having a wobble...or a stress..or are ruminating or catastrophising; it's broken into easy to absorob chunks that are categorised to help you easily find them. There's a wise word, an empathetic ideas to remind you of the scope of anxiety that is actually normal (the bit that is helpful and keeps us safe) and what you can do to tackle those thoughts, or to ground yourself and find calm.

It's beautifully presented, easy to read and non-judgy. The tone is friendly and young - I loved the sweary nature, the fact that it's no bull and out there. I've got a few friends who will be recieving this too!

This is an attractive and accessible book. It offers suggestions that are easy to implement, some of which very quickly centered me.

I enjoyed the earth-toned illustrations, and the depth of calming methods presented. Not everything works for everyone, yet this book offers such a variety that there truly is something for everyone.

While I enjoyed it, I think it will mainly appeal to younger female-identifying patrons for two reasons:
1. Every illustration portrays a female.
2. Nearly every page contains a minimum of one curse, which is unfortunate only because it self-limits its audience. I so frequently hear patrons complain that swear words quickly turn them off of an entire book. It’s a shame in this case, because otherwise the book is pure gold. Luckily, the title itself will serve as a great warning to those who prefer clean language.

Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for access to this ARC.

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 Must appreciate swear words! 😁 We don’t cuss a lot in our family; however, our kids are old enough now and we can appreciate the sassy or emphasis added use of the F-word, A-word, B-word, Sh-word, etc . . .!!!! P.S. It's the elementary school teacher in me.
🤩 A non-fiction/self-help book that won’t put you to sleep! Woo hoo! It can be read in small increments, out of order, or binged all at once.
🤩 Absolutely gorgeous book design—cover, layout, illustrations. 😍
🤩 Clear, practical, & effective strategies for reducing and handling anxiety. Swipe picture to see the lovely back of the book for description.
🤩 Mental health awareness and real-talk.
🤩 Hey ROMANCE AUTHOR FRIENDS, it would be a great resource as you're writing. I appreciate it when characters use these types of healthy strategies.
🤩 Timely book with mental health concerns so high. In our family, we are not officially diagnosed with anxiety. But, we have had times of increased anxiety that have bordered on being able to deal with it in our own family love and support or contemplating getting professional help. This book is perfect for all levels of anxiety. It gives great ideas for decreasing anxiety and dealing with symptoms or attacks with hopes of living your best life. It normalizes and encourages openness to getting outside help as well.
🤩 Spoiler: Tip number 67 is Read A Book, so of course you will love this book! 😉
🤩 Great book for gift giving—birthdays, holidays, celebrations & loving on friends.

What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 The illustrations of pillows, plants, and people are gorgeous in this book. I just wish a few of the people could be male or less female. This book is amazing and important for all people. With this book on our coffee table, the guys in our house pick it up as much as the girls, flip to a spot, and read aloud a little snippet of wisdom.

This book is a must-have for those suffering with anxiety in the modern age. Even those who are therapy frequent flyers will get a lot of takeaways to add to their toolbox of strategies to call upon when the big bad grim reaper of anxiety shows up. This book is a beauty to behold; definitely one of the more attractive self-help books out there! The prose used by the author is entertaining, cutting-edge, digestible and yet still meaningful and credible. There is not one single sentence about this book that I would change, in fact, I just submitted my pre-order for not 1, but 2 copies! This book is a game-changer and I want an extra copy on hand should I see someone I love struggling who might benefit from the wealth of knowledge Douglas has shared.

I LOVED THIS BOOK.

This is a fantastic read for anyone dealing with anxiety, as well as people who may not consider themselves sufferers. There are a ridiculous amount of coping mechanisms and strategies to work through. Not only is the reader presented with options to try, we are also given additional information on ways we can implement them into our lives, and the science behind each strategy.

This book is written by a woman for women, and I could not love that fact more. It's a simple and fun read, and definitely has reread value. I will for sure be going back to this book time and again as a reminder, and to help myself going forward. Highly recommend this book!

A collection of really helpful tips to help you cope with anxiety - a lot of the information can be found online but I really like having it all in one book :)

I’m sure it’s great without a digital version. This didn’t quite load well, but I enjoyed the parts I could see and read.
