Brilliant, just brilliant. What a superb no nonsense approach to anxiety. This was a thoroughly refreshing guide from the usual self-help books on anxiety. The punchy way that Douglas speaks is like having your best mate right by your side, who’s there to help fight your battles with you. It’s insightful, relatable, and very clear. It doesn’t go over your head, but nor is it patronising. Short, but highly effective, the book covers everything through techniques, advice, affirmations and more. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley for an eARC of this book to read and review

F*ck Anxiety by Lauren Douglas is the perfect book for me. As someone who struggles with anxiety, I found these tips and tricks for coping to be very helpful. The title says it all: F*ck anxiety. That is exactly how I feel about it. It is an annoying to be so in my head, and this book has lots of great strategies for getting out of your own head. It explains the science behind how anxiety works and gives us real advice for what we can do to help ourselves when we are feeling anxious. It is full of positive affirmations that are always nice to read, and offers an honest and funny insight into dealing with anxiety.

F*ck Anxiety is a short and sweet book that covers many of the fundamentals of dealing with anxiety. It includes coloring sheets, word searches, breathing strategies, stretches, and mental exercises. F*ck Anxiety is designed in a very accessible and aesthetically pleasing format. There are a wide range of strategies available. Throughout the book, the tone is very welcoming and non-judgemental. This would be a great book for anyone who is already familiar with anxiety strategies or for someone who is exploring strategies for the first time. F*ck Anxiety releases on April 5, 2022. This is such an aesthetically pleasing self-help book! The language won't be for everybody, but I feel like you'd be able to tell from the title alone if this book would be for you.
I really loved all of the suggestions in this book as far as easing anxiety and lessening stress. I think it is very well written and is straight to the point!

I will definitely be getting a hard copy when this is published!

Thank you netgalley for providing me with this ARC.
I really liked this book. I don’t read a lot of self help/self care books and this was something refreshing. I think this is a great book but some of the things that might work for someone might not work for me or someone else. Overall this is a very informative book and I could see myself purchasing it in the future.

This is the best book on anxiety I have ever read and I’m actually preordering the book as I type! This is a practical yet welcoming way to not only deal with the anxiety that you feel in your day to day, but also gives you sensible and achievable ways to preempt the nasty huge Anxiety spirals that some of us get. Bravo, Ms Douglas. What an excellent book! You can consider anything you write to be in my automatic Must Buy category!

I have struggled with anxiety for over half my life. Its been a long struggle. I won't lie and say "oh goodness this is all I'll ever need for my anxiety!" because that would be unfair and untrue. However, I will say that this book take a firm but kind stance on ways to work around anxiety/panic attacks or to help calm those spiraling thoughts. I am not a big believer in self help the way most books do it. It's always a little too rah rah for me. But this isn't that. It was a good thing to have at my fingertips and will definitely be a title someone else keeping in their anxiety toolkit

Start to finish this book is amazing! There are many self help books out there dealing with anxiety but I feel like this one really gets me! Not only do we get 101 ways to cope with anxiety but we also get hyped up to the point of feeling as though anything is possible! "First things first: you're a fucking lovely human being. Secondly, you're super safe here."
F*ck Anxiety will help you identify triggers and quickly do what works for you to get back to calmness and peace...or at least not be to the point you're paralyzed by anxiety.
There are so many techniques, suggestions, and detailed exercises for you to work through, many with easy to follow, numbered step-by-step instructions. I love that not only does this book map out ways to deal with anxiety internally but there are also several chapters devoted to working through anxiety when it comes to the people in your life- good and bad!
There are examples of situations you might find yourself in and the best way to handle them. One section is devoted to self care and another to silence and ways you can keep your mind busy without saying a word. So glad I found this book and can't wait to buy a few, one for me and extras to gift a couple copies! Thank you to Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley for a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review. 5 stars.

This book is for a very specific audience, and I don't mean the anxiety-riddled one. It's for the type of women who love the language of being the baddest bitch alive, the hottest shit around, etc. I'm a woman and I have anxiety but the over-the-top language didn't work for me. It just tried too hard to be funny, witty, and millennial. And I don't mind f-bombs or cursing in general, I don't mind jokes or breezy voices in books. In this book, it was cringe-inducing though. As I said, a very specific audience, and there's nothing wrong with that but it should be put somewhere on the book so some person who doesn't call themselves a bitch, doesn't feel the womankind and sisterhood speaking to their soul, or doesn't call their body a lady doesn't get this book with different expectations.

With all that being said, the actual information provided is not bad at all. If you can get behind how it is written, the information is clear and organized, doesn't diminish real therapy, and actually provides important information on how to get a therapist and how to recognize red flags with them. The organization of if you feel like this or if this is not helping go to this or that page is very helpful and I think that this would be a good book to have around you to reference in day-to-day life. Chapters on how to calm yourself but also how to care for your body, prevention from anxiety through little things, affirmations, and more. Overall, well-rounded book for stressed-out people. The extra pages with puzzles and coloring pages are on one hand nice addition but on the other, I think it's more so to fill in the blank space than to make the book more balanced.

Thank you, Andrews McMeel, for the advance reading copy.

As someone who needs such books on anxiety and mental health, and love having them as lifelong companions I find this book really helpful.

The book is beautiful inside out with beautiful illustrations and artwork.

I find the titles of each chapter quite fun and apt. The tips given are practical and actually comforting.

I would recommend this book to those who are actually fed up and tired of getting anxious, unable to carry out normal activities during most days. But I would suggest you to read this book in parts and not to read it in one go.

You will be totally hyped up reading each part.

As someone who struggles with anxiety, I really wanted to give this book a shot. Upon reading it, I realized that while these might work for some people, I just found it rather cringe-worthy. Perhaps self help books are not for me but right off the bat, this book just didn't give what I expected it to.

Currently, the formatting makes the book impossible to read. I will redownload again in a few weeks to see if there is any change.
