A purple pail travels around the world via oceans, rivers, and various modes of transportation. A child in each country finds the pail and uses it for something different in each place. I loved the idea of the story. I loved how the pail started and ended in the same place. I wish the writer talked about the pail moving from place to place more. The story just seemed jumpy and disconnected. The illustrations were very well done. The colors are bright and pictures are simple enough for a very young child to really love.

I really liked the story and the artwork. All the different kids around the world doing so many different cultural activities was really fun to explore. The only thing I wish it had more of was an explanation for every scene, to help kids and adults exactly identify the people and actions depicted.

Delightful! Shades of message in a bottle, the Purple Pail sails around the world as if it has a hand in its destinations. Each child was using the Pail in their own country when it rolled out to sea only to join the next child. Some of the places it visits are Ireland, Maine, Central and South America, Malaysia, and New Zealand. At the end is a map to follow. Niki Leonidou is the fantastic illustrator who brings color and more to the simple drawings. This is a great book to read with someone else, especially ESL.

The purple pail got swept by the sea, and travels around the world. Some kids found it, and said it's name in their language. Children will learn some other language and the use of a pail in many different countries.

The Purple Pail by Christine Ieronimo is a fun read. The Purple Pail focuses on the object of the Purple Pail. The Pail ends up on different beaches and shores all over the world. Wherever the Pail ends up, when it’s found someone uses it for a task. When that person is done they put the Pail back where they found it. Then the Pail somehow ends up at a new destination. I liked The Purple Pail and enjoyed the vibrant pictures. I believe it would be a great story to read for any type of story time. Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for the opportunity to read this book. My review is also on Goodreads.

The Purple Pail by Christine Leronimo is the perfect story for children. Children loose the purple pail all the time and it travels around the world.

This is a sweet story about a purple pail’s journey around the world. At the beginning of the story, a little girl in the U.S. loses her purple pail in the ocean. The pail travels across oceans to children in countries around the world where it used for carrying clams, fruit, candles, honeycomb, chocolate, and more before it finally washes up on the original beach where it was lost. The little girl is now a woman and her son finds the pail.

This is a beautiful story about the ways we are all connected. I love how it all comes full circle in the end. The map at the beginning was informative, and I also appreciated the translations for purple pail in every country it visited. My 4-year-old twins enjoyed this story and the bright illustrations.

Thank you to Netgalley and Clavis Publishing for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Ava is at the beach with her favourite purple pail which she happily fills with beautiful shells that she collects along the shore. A huge wave roars in, sweeps it up, and away it goes on a worldwide tour. The pail washes up on many different shores in foreign countries around the world. It interacts with different children who find it. Purple pail learns their unique language and is put to use in many different ways according to their needs.

The book opens with a map that pinpoints the journey of the kidnapped victim. This would be an educational and unique introduction for Social Studies lessons which would enable students to learn all about various cultures and languages in different countries. The Purple Pail highlights diverse children partaking in conventional activities that are native to their own culture. Lovely detailed illustrations enrich the text making the story come alive. I love the premise that globally we are all connected and I recommend this book.

A purple pail takes an around-the-world trip to numerous cultures and countries. While I appreciated the global nature of the book, it did not specify what countries we were visiting. I think that could get confusing for children (it did for me and I'm an adult!) My nephew enjoyed the illustrations and the purple pail's travels.

The idea of this story was great, and I think we would have loved, but it was very hard for a child to follow. My child gave up on this one fast.

The Purple Pail is a picture book about a pail (think beach toy) that finds many uses across the world. From a market, to a vineyard to a floating candle ceremony, the purple pail is part of many cultures and vocations. Each page has colourful pictures and every second page or so has 1-2 lines of text. While there are some challenging words, I could see young readers enjoying the pictures and creating their own story to go along with them.

The book opens with a world map and plots the journey the pail goes on. I think this would be a great entry point for Social Studies lessons on geography and culture. It is also an opportunity for children to see diverse people and multicultural characters. I would highly recommend this book for Social Studies teachers of children in the K-4 range as well as parents of young children ages 3 or so and up.

I really appreciate the opportunity from Netgalley and the publisher to read and review an advance copy of this book! I am looking forward to purchasing a copy for my students in the future!

This is a cute story about the many used across various cultures of a purple pail!

At first it is hard to follow as I didn’t immediately understand the pail itself was traveling, but it was a cute story nonetheless and nice to see all the various uses different needs across the world.

This book has the potential to be cute, but honestly I had a hard time following the story. I know the pail is supposed to be travelling around the world, but the story didn't always make that super clear that it was traveling so it just felt disjointed.

This was a cute book with good illustrations. I think it could have been even better if there was more of a story with each child.

A sweet story showcasing different cultures around the world and how we're all connected in more ways than we think (we all have a use for the purple pail!)

I find this story of the traveling purple pail so amusing!

It's like the story of a traveling coin/note. How the purple pail helps different people in different parts carries a good story.

I love the illustrations. They are simple, neat and pretty.

Such an adorable book with a creative story line and underlying message about lost items finding their way home. The illustrations were cute and I even spotted some local areas to me which was a pleasant surprise!
