This is the first book I have read in the Beach House Hotel series. It is a light romance but has enough substance that it was an entertaining read. I will definitely go back and read earlier books in the series to get more background on the primary characters. The focus on making a difference in the lives of others was touching and made the story a positive read for me. While some close to being inappropriate sexual situations, it doesn’t quite cross the line. But I do think they weren’t necessary. However, friendship, relationships, support, and learning to appreciate oneself were great threads that were scattered throughout the pages.

Thank you to NetGalley and Wild Quail Publishing for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

This was such a great book! I will go back and read the rest in the series that I missed. It was a book that may contain trigger warnings for some, that it deals with giving the baby up for adoption. I would definitely recommend this book.

# Dessert At the Beach House is a wonderful novel by author # Judith Keim. Tnis is book 6 in the series and fine as a stand alone. When I'm ever caught up I'm going to read the rest.
Against their better judgement they agree to help a young girl in distress. This request being from the vice-president of the United States, they almost lost their lives because of her last request....
Thank you for the advance copy,

Dessert at the Beach House Hotel by Judith Keim
The Beach House Hotel Series, Book 6

Another uplifting "close the book with that warm hopeful feeling) story by a favorite author.

The ladies are back, and it was lovely to read another book in the series.

Ann and Rhonda are asked a favor by the Vice President and they can not refuse.

A young woman is pregnant and in need of help.

Mandy is pregnant and disowned by her parents.

The ladies give her a temporary place to stay.

They have competition from a new hotel.

There is a romance but it's not the focus of the story.

I really enjoyed this lovely novel full of heart and heart warming good feeling vibes. Just good characters where life is not all sunshine and roses but friendship and family play a part of their lives.

I would recommend this book for people who enjoy series, who enjoy good fiction that leave the reader with a warm glow and a smile.

Thank you to NetGalley, The Publisher and the author #JudithKeim.

Ann and Rhonda are back at the helm of the Beach House Inn and their lives are getting more and more complicated as their Inn family and their personal families keep growing. When they agree to help a young woman friend of the Vice President (that we met in the previous book, Margaritas at the Beach House), they have no idea how even more complicated things will get.

Amanda is a sweet, naïve girl who finds herself pregnant after being drugged and raped. Her friend Jax has a perfect solution – marry him – but Amanda doesn’t feel she’s good enough for him because of her self-esteem issues thanks to her parent’s attitude toward her. While Ann and Rhonda try to stay neutral, it’s hard for them to see Amanda’s indecision – keep the baby or allow the Senator she has been working for to adopt the baby.

Added to the situation are family pregnancies, illnesses, marriage issues – you know – LIFE on a grand scale. This book is like a family reunion of individuals from previous books, and, while the author does a good job of giving snapshots of everyone’s background, I recommend starting with the first book and reading them in order. When I got this book from NetGalley, I went back and read the previous books so I could do this book justice. The books are great reads with complicated characters and interesting storylines: lots of good guys, a few bad guys and lots of laughs. Ann and Rhoda are polar opposites whose strengths and weaknesses complement each other as they work together and realize that family is key.

Dessert at the Beach House Hotel is the sixth book in Judith Keim’s Beach House Hotel series and the second in succession in which VP Amelia Swanson plays an integral role. The ask this time is for Ann and Rhonda to help house a young unwed mother who had been working for Senator Samuel Worthington as an intern. When young Amanda (Mandy) Rogers attended a party she was drugged, apparently raped, and found herself with child but no memory of the events. Having been disowned by her own parents, the Worthingtons have offered to help the young woman in exchange for adopting her baby.

Mandy and her friend Jax Thomas arrive after a long, tiring drive. They settle into the reserved room with Jax sleeping on a cot. Jax is able to secure a position in the hotel as a landscaper, which includes a small apartment, and the ladies take Mandy under their wings.

This is a sweet story with excellent messages. I liked the characters, the setting, and the conclusion. I do recommend this book!

This book was disappointing to me. I had such high hopes, having heard many good things about this series, but I just didn’t feel like this book delivered. In fairness, I’m new to the Beach House Hotel series, but thought I could pick up here and enjoy the characters. They were good characters, I’ll happily admit, but I felt like I started reading in the middle of the story instead of beginning an entirely new book. There were references to side characters with little explanation of who they were or why they were significant. It seemed if you’d read some previous books in the series, this would be visiting old friends, but I felt rather lost, and so lost the thread of the story because of it. The new characters that were introduced this book were well-written and quite interesting, keeping me working through to the end to see their stories’ resolutions, but with more effort than I normally like to give a book. I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. This is my freely given, honest review.

This is the second book that I have read in this series. I need to go back and read the other four books. Amanda's story is one that hits to the heart. It is hard to be in Washington, D.C., but when the people you trust do bad things, just makes me angrier. Now Amanda is left alone, without any family support, to deal with a pregnancy. Jax, her best friend, has been in love with her for a long time and is supporting her during this time. Jax wants to marry her but, thanks to her parents verbal abuse, does not think she is good enough for anyone. The senator who Amanda worked for is pressuring her to let him and his wife adopt. Amanda goes to the Beach House Hotel to sort things out. No matter what she does, her life will change. This happening while the Beach House Hotel undergoes some competition. Another great story in the Beach House Hotel series. Hoping Amanda and Jax will continue to be in the storyline. Thank you to Ms. Keim, NetGalley, and Wild Quail Publishing, for the opportunity to read and review this book; all opinions are my own.

This is the sixth book in The Beach House Hotel series. Rhonda’s daughter’s family is facing the loss of her mother-in-law Catherine. Ann’s daughter may finally realize her dream of becoming a mother. Vice President Amelia Swanson needs a favor from Ann and Rhonda. A young teenage woman needs a place to rest and relax In preparation for the arrival of her baby. Senator Worthington and his wife hope to adopt the baby. As pressure is applied, Mandy seems reluctant to give up her baby as she considers a future with her friend Jax. Aubery and Brock opened a nearby hotel called The Sand Castle, a playground for the hip and their plan is to put The Beach House hotel out of business.

Rhonda and Ann are wonderful characters, while running the Beach front Hotel they continue to help those in need, while looking after their own family. With loss and new beginnings for both friends , this series is heartfelt and will inspire many readers. I do hope this series continues as the friends have many moments left to share.

I really love this #TheBeachHouseHotelSeries. The two main characters, Ann & Rhonda, keep me coming back for more. I enjoyed another story involving the female VP, Amelia Swanson, working with the ladies to help another woman in need. These stories #JudyKeim creates with such a wonderful cast of characters are just what’s needed for the perfect read.

Book Review: It is indeed a treat for the reader best served with a cup of coffee or tea.

Dessert at The Beach House Hotel
by Judith Keim

In the sixth installment of The Beach House Hotel series, Dessert at The Beach House Hotel is scrumptious. While it is a stand alone novel, it helps to know the backstory of its characters. Author Judith Keim, adds in just enough bits of information to keep the reader informed to follow along the story. Yet, it also inspires to read books 1-5. There’s a lot of spilled tea to hear about in those books and maybe a few cookies too.

The story’s surface theme seems to be the miracle of birth. Secondary is people in power bullying others to get their way in an under current of added conflict. Because of this, the reader can’t help but root for the characters associated with The Beach House Hotel. There’s a third thread of thought subtly running alongside the others. Tradition versus non-tradition. Is younger/hipper always better in our youth obsessed society? Or is a societal religious reputation more important than a young family member? The score should be tied with a balance in between, not a zero-sum game.

For instance, wondering what Amanda Rogers will decide regarding the fate of her unborn child keeps the pages turning. Will she go along with the planned adoption, or will she keep this bundle of joy for herself? And will her parents ever accept her again with either decision?

Will the senator who is used to getting his way, bully everyone to meet his agenda?

And will the competing hotel aimed at the next young, hip thing win over the guests destroying the traditional, quality service at The Beach House Hotel?

For such a large cast of characters with intertwined threads, this is a leisurely paced story best served with a cup of coffee or tea. It is indeed a treat for the reader and a delightful way to spend a day cozied up with these characters.

From the publisher:
Against their better judgment, Ann and Rhonda agree to help a young girl in distress at the request of the vice-president of the United States, Amelia Swanson. After almost losing their lives because of an earlier request of hers, they plan on being more careful.
Amanda Rogers was an intern for Senator Worthington’s office when she was drugged at a staff party and got pregnant. Now, alone without parental support, she and her friend, Jax Thomas, arrive at the hotel to wait out the last weeks of pregnancy in privacy. Senator Worthington and his wife want to adopt Mandy’s baby girl, but she’s made no promises. Jax would like to marry Mandy and raise the baby with her, but Mandy’s parents have made it clear that Jax deserves better than someone like her, and Mandy’s torn.
After vowing not to interfere, Ann and Rhonda find it more and more difficult to stay neutral. But they have other things on their minds. Aubrey Lowell, who almost ruined The Beach House Hotel managing it, their old nemesis, Brock Goodwin, and a couple of others have opened a nearby hotel called The Sand Castle, a playground for the hip, and have every intention of destroying The Beach House Hotel, no matter what it takes.
There is much to celebrate as happy news from both families and the hotel is shared by all. As Ann and Rhonda agree, life can sometimes be as sweet as one of Jean-Luc’s desserts at The Beach House Hotel.

I always enjoy returning to The Beach House Hotel, if feels like I am visiting old and dear friends. As always I love the book, and the author of this series. She has the ability to tell such wonderful stories, and I seem to connect with the characters in her books. I certainly would recommend this book to everyone.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher Wild Quail Publishing, and I am under no obligation to leave a favorable review the opinions expressed here are my own.

Dessert at the Beach House Hotel by Judith Keim is another heartwarming season with Ann and Rhonda. Oh, how delightful it would be to enjoy one of Jean-Luc’s desserts! Amelia Swanson, the vice-president of the United States calls and asks if the two friends will make a room available for a former intern, Amanda Rogers. Mandy served in the office of Senator Worthington and was drugged while attending a staff party. The result of her assault is an unexpected pregnancy. The VP would like to help Mandy spend the remainder of her pregnancy at the Beach House Hotel where she will have privacy, especially since her parents refused to allow Mandy to return home in her condition. Mandy is accompanied by her best friend Jax.
There is news and competition in the neighborhood! Some investors, with the help of the despicable Aubrey Lowell and Brock Goodwin, have renovated a hotel they named The Sand Castle to market to younger guests as the ultimate fun place to stay. Their plan is to cause the Beach House Hotel to falter financially due to lower occupancy. This causes a bit of concern for Ann and Rhonda, but the girls are smart and anticipate the game Lowell and Goodwin are playing. They also were protective of Mandy during her pressure from the Worthington's about her baby girl.
I liked the main characters and enjoyed the interactions during the progression of the story!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and publisher for the opportunity to read this book
