Description

One favor deserves another, or does it?

Against their better judgment, Ann and Rhonda agree to help a young girl in distress at the request of the vice-president of the United States, Amelia Swanson. After almost losing their lives because of an earlier request of hers, they plan on being more careful.

Amanda Rogers was an intern for Senator Worthington’s office when she was drugged at a staff party and got pregnant. Now, alone without parental support, she and her friend, Jax Thomas, arrive at the hotel to wait out the last weeks of pregnancy in privacy. Senator Worthington and his wife want to adopt Mandy’s baby girl, but she’s made no promises. Jax would like to marry Mandy and raise the baby with her, but Mandy’s parents have made it clear that Jax deserves better than someone like her, and Mandy’s torn.

After vowing not to interfere, Ann and Rhonda find it more and more difficult to stay neutral. But they have other things on their minds. Aubrey Lowell, who almost ruined The Beach House Hotel managing it, their old nemesis, Brock Goodwin, and a couple of others have opened a nearby hotel called The Sand Castle, a playground for the hip, and have every intention of destroying The Beach House Hotel, no matter what it takes.

There is much to celebrate as happy news from both families and the hotel is shared by all. As Ann and Rhonda agree, life can sometimes be as sweet as one of Jean-Luc’s desserts at The Beach House Hotel.

Life can be many things, and as the people in Dessert at the Beach House Hotel, know, the way things are today can look so different as you move along through the days and months. Ann and Rhonda, has agreed to help a young woman as a favor to the Vice President of the United States. As I was reading this book, I kept thinking this is, don't judge a book by its cover. It looks like this calm, relaxing beach read, but reading the story, it had my imagination going all over the place. Many things that are happening, like life, we have to wait to see how things turn out. That is the way the story goes. It is people's life, and we have to wait, just like they do, to hear the results.
Judith Keim's books has a way of connecting you to the people in the stories. This was no different. There are many things happening, but like the family and friends they are, they all blend together.
This is book #6 in the series, and you can read this book by itself, but I highly recommend reading the series. Each story has some of the same people, but there are other people added, so it is a different journey each time. I received an ARC from Wild Quail Publishing through NetGalley.

Thank you NetGalley, Judith Keim, and Wild Quail Publishing for the ARC of Dessert At The Beach House Hotel. This is my personal review.
Ann and Rhonda are back again, and this book is as fantastic as the others in the Beach House Hotel series.
Rhonda and Ann own the Beach House Hotel and reading this book and being back was them felt natural and like I was with family.
They were asked by their friend who happens to be the VP if they could help in another situation by having a guest come that needs a place to stay that is safe and can have privacy. Of course, being the wonderful women, they are they did not hesitate to assist.
I adore all the characters in this series, and I know you will too. Again Judith Keim has written a book that will entertain you from page one to the last page.

I really love this #TheBeachHouseHotelSeries. The two main characters, Ann & Rhonda, keep me coming back for more. I enjoyed another story involving the female VP, Amelia Swanson, working with the ladies to help another woman in need. These stories #JudyKeim creates with such a wonderful cast of characters are just what’s needed for the perfect read.

Book Review: It is indeed a treat for the reader best served with a cup of coffee or tea.

Dessert at The Beach House Hotel
by Judith Keim

In the sixth installment of The Beach House Hotel series, Dessert at The Beach House Hotel is scrumptious. While it is a stand alone novel, it helps to know the backstory of its characters. Author Judith Keim, adds in just enough bits of information to keep the reader informed to follow along the story. Yet, it also inspires to read books 1-5. There’s a lot of spilled tea to hear about in those books and maybe a few cookies too.

The story’s surface theme seems to be the miracle of birth. Secondary is people in power bullying others to get their way in an under current of added conflict. Because of this, the reader can’t help but root for the characters associated with The Beach House Hotel. There’s a third thread of thought subtly running alongside the others. Tradition versus non-tradition. Is younger/hipper always better in our youth obsessed society? Or is a societal religious reputation more important than a young family member? The score should be tied with a balance in between, not a zero-sum game.

For instance, wondering what Amanda Rogers will decide regarding the fate of her unborn child keeps the pages turning. Will she go along with the planned adoption, or will she keep this bundle of joy for herself? And will her parents ever accept her again with either decision?

Will the senator who is used to getting his way, bully everyone to meet his agenda?

And will the competing hotel aimed at the next young, hip thing win over the guests destroying the traditional, quality service at The Beach House Hotel?

For such a large cast of characters with intertwined threads, this is a leisurely paced story best served with a cup of coffee or tea. It is indeed a treat for the reader and a delightful way to spend a day cozied up with these characters.

I want to visit the Beach House Hotel. It gets better and better each time I visit via a bestseller by the marvelous Judith Keim. Her descriptions throughout the book are so on point I can hear the waves and smell the salt while digging my toes into the sand. Annie and Rhonda are two ladies that I would love the be best friends with or at least have a margarita with them in the afternoons. Cinnamon buns abound and all that happens in the name of love are all the desserts at the Beach House Hotel. Thank you so much to #NetGalley, the publisher and the author for my requested advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Ann and Rhonda from Beach House Hotel series have become some of my favorite book characters, and reading this book felt like catching up with them! The Beach House Hotel is facing competition from a new hotel run by Brock Goodwin, who still hasn’t given up trying to make their lives miserable. There is also a new guest at the hotel that adds additional complications.

I really like the way that Ann and Rhonda’s friendship has deepened, they have become an extended family and each book adds new people to their close-knit group. There is some love/romance, but the focus is really friends and family. This is a part of a series, and I would definitely recommend staying with the first book and reading in order - it will give context to the relationships, and also some of the minor characters.

I received a copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
