A Midlife Holiday was a well written, enjoyable trip to Cyprus with 3 lifelong friends. Caro, Helen and Kay are fast approaching 50 and each have their own midlife fears and worries - ones that most women of this age can and maybe will relate to. A good, easy read that will make a perfect addition to your holiday reading list. I look forward to reading more from the friends in the future. I really enjoyed this title and appreciate the option to read it proper to release. I found the characters relatable and the story a nice comforting summer read. A great holiday book that won’t disappoint!

Three friends in their 50s join up for a holiday in Cyprus. With different life priorities by way of families and careers, each of them get an opportunity to reflect and review. The main focus of this story is on Helen, whose self-absorbed husband is away climbing Everest and who embarks on a romance with her Greek sailing coach. The friends’ storylines are secondary to Helen’s story and will presumably be the focus of the other books in the Midlife trilogy. This is a bit of a shame as Caro and Kay seemed potentially more interesting than Helen, the least sympathetic character of the three, though probably will get me tuning in to the next two books. A solid 3.5, rather than a 4.

I really enjoyed this story of friendship, empowerment, love and finding yourself again. The characters were well written and relatable, loved the setting and a holiday romance always warms the heart! Look forward to reading more from this author.

Ah, the delights of midlife and 50 looming oh so close. This book appealed to me, as you know, I’m nearing 50 and sometimes wonder where the feisty me has gone. This book explores some of the harder questions around authenticity p, identity and forgotten dreams. Looking forward to book 2.

It could be a rom com about middle age women and blah blah but there's something that makes you stop and think.
It's a life affirming story but it's also a story about getting old, losing the sense of who you are and finding it again.
The author is a good storyteller, the characters are fleshed, and the plot flows.
I hope to read other books by this author.

Three friends since college have hit 50 and their lives aren’t quite what they thought they would be at this point in life. They head on a holiday together in Cyprus and each manages to focus on what she needs in the here and now. After all, life is full of second chances and reinventing oneself.

A decent read, but a little cliche on Helen’s part. Though the power of friendship through the years is one we can all relate to. I have my own two besties from college and we still have each others’ backs. Grab a copy and escape to Cypress with the girls for awhile.

This was a sweet read. It’s about 3 best friends in need of a change of scenery so they get one. Easy and enjoyable - kinda like a cupcake. A bit too predictable and generic for my liking at times but I appreciated the insight into the value of women's friendships and what often happens in marriage and motherhood. The parts on caregiving were well done. An easy and pleasant read overall.

Perfect holiday reading. I read this in Italy not Cyprus but it matters not one jot. Three fifty plus women go on holiday together and work out what they want in life. It is warm and witty and will make you smile and give a little cheer in some places. Light but enough depth to make you think.

A fun read with some comical moments. Not really Shirley Valentine like but definitely enjoyable. I thought the story ended a bit abruptly but have since discovered that this is the first of a trilogy so hopefully the next two books can really unpack the characters.

Great book, I had the pleasure of reading this overlooking the sea. I already can’t wait for the next book as I want to read more. I need to know more about Helen and see what happens, I want to see how Kay manages to survive and be the parent to her elderly parents and autistic son. I didn’t particularly like Caroline’s character and felt little empathy for her.

Helen, Caro and Kay are women of a certain age who fly off to Cyprus for a holiday.
Being a massive fan of the film ‘Shirley Valentine’, I expected to absolutely love this book, but it didn’t quite hit the mark.
It was an easy enough read however, I found that I didn’t relate to the characters and if I’m honest I found two out the three ladies quite unlikeable. I won’t be rushing to read the next book in the series.

Three lifelong friends now turning fifty head off on holiday to Cyprus but it not quite what all of them were expecting. Not my normal genre but I devoured this book. It is a joyous funny read but covers the aspects of life that women of this age encounter - menopause, fertility , coping with the problems of both grown-up children and ageing parents. There were aspects of each of the friends with which I could identify. Echos of “Shirley Valentine” and how refreshing for the main characters to be of this age for a change. I would highly recommend this novel and am looking forward to the second part of the trilogy. This is one of those books that will have some readers completely identifng with one or more of the characters. 3 friends, woman of a certain age, go away on a holiday together and we follow their journey and get an insight into their lives.

I absolutely loved this book. It was an easy read, and all the characters were so relatable.

The book follows three friends, Caro, Helen and Kay, all middle aged and all facing different challenges on their life, as they all go on a well needed holiday to Cyprus.

Look forward to reading more books by this author.
