4.5 stars!!!
Jason Bourne is back and wow!!!! We meet with Abbey again and the progression of her in this book was awesome but also sad because she won't be able to fully go back to the person she once was. This was such a thrill to read and I loved every moment of it!!!
Cannot wait for the next book!! Brian Freeman you did it again!!!

Bourne is back as the hero of the Robert Ludlum days. Sidenote: What I am surprised at was the romance that played more heavily in this book. I know some may not care for it but if you think about it, Bourne is trying to piecemeal his memory back and to care about someone who can give him a little piece of who he thinks he can be, he's going to reach for it. I am trying desperately not to give anything away except this tiny tidbit about romance.

I can't wait to read the next one in this series!

I would like to thank NetGalley and Penguin Group for this e-book for an honest review.

First time reading about Bourne in years, and really enjoyed this. Will need to go back and catch up on Jason Bourne, and can't wait for the next book. #RobertLudlumsTheBourneSacrifice #NetGalley

Brian Freeman has done an excellent job of continuing the Bourne legacy. He remains true to Robert Ludman's spy thriller series while still managing to update the people and events and adding his own signature to the legacy. I was a Brian Freeman fan and a Jason Bourne fan. The two have combined to become better.

For fans of Bourne, the action and consequences remain tense while the suspense grows with each chapter. We meet old friends and villians and see where our hero will land this time. The ending and it's lead up will be worth the wait. 5 easy stars.

Over the years, I've read less than a handful of the books in this series, but I've seen all, I think, of the motion pictures. Starting to read this book immediately underscored why I'm reluctant to see any movie made from a book: All the way through, all I could do was envision Matt Damon on a big screen instead of letting my imagination conjure up what the characters look like as is my preference (not that I'm not a Damon fan, mind you). Oh well, safe to say this one would make a great movie too, should that be where it's headed. And at this point, the damage is done - so yes, if it does, I'll go see it (or more likely watch it on TV). Meanwhile, I'll pass on some notes on what is a really, really good book.

If you're wondering, I had no problem "catching up" with what's going on; some things, in fact, don't appear to have changed much - Jason is still searching for the memory he lost and in a hold-hands-to keep-from-fighting relationship with former employer Treadstone and his handler, Nash Rollins (the latter Jason suspects knows far more than he's willing to disclose). At the moment, Jason is trying to locate and capture a killer-for-hire named Lennon - a man he believes can fill in most of those memory blanks.

Early on, they find each other and get into a tussle that leaves no one unscathed and Jason with hints that Lennon knows even more than he'd surmised. But the man gets away and Jason's chase is on again. Into the mix comes Abbey Laurent, an investigative reporter who, as loyal readers may recall, had a one-time fling with Jason that left both wanting more. Knowing closeness to him would put her life in danger, Jason reluctantly left her in the dust a couple of years earlier and, for the most part, never looked back. As luck (and the story) would have it, she starts digging into what she believes is a covered-up murder that, ultimately, ties into Jason's search for Lennon.

Needless to say, working out the details of that connection proves difficult and life-threatening for both Jason and Abbey, who seem to have found common ground both in the investigation and their relationship. Everything points to a seemingly up-and-up corporation run by a billionaire with a questionable reputation , but Jason and Abbey suspect there's a far more sinister purpose lurking behind the balance sheet that relates to a real-life timely topic. Problem is, security being at the highest level that can be bought, how do they gather evidence of what's really going on without getting themselves killed in the process?

The devil, of course, is in the details - none of which I'll reveal except that it's an action-packed adventure that ends with the mother of all cliffhangers: A revelation that reveals nothing (well, except the need to read the next book). Until then, many thanks to the publisher, via NetGalley, for the opportunity to read and review a pre-release copy of this one.

With his third installment to the Jason Bourne franchise, Brian Freeman reminds us why he was chosen as the steward of the brand. He continues to write excellent stories, with relevant plots, excellent characters, and the action that fans of Bourne and the genre in general love. The plot of this book has been ripped from the headlines of the world around us. What is truth anymore? Who preserves truth, and whose job is it to defend truth in an online world filled with social media.

If you've ever read a Jason Bourne thriller, you probably remember it well. I recall reading Robert Ludlum's first works with Jason. And I couldn't wait for those to be brought to the big screen. It's always been about memory or better yet, about Jason's journeys to find his 'before'. The Answers! And who better to guide us than Brian Freeman. I first discovered his fantastic storytelling abilities with Immoral and followed by Stripped, then Stalked; his first three Jonathan Stride psychological suspense police novels! I'm hooked. I recall hearing he had just finished The Bourne Sacrifice, and knew I had to read it. I'm so glad I have. What a thrilling book! To tell you about it, would spoil it for you. Jason is on a worldwide journey, searching for the assassin, who purportedly knew him BEFORE. Bourne follows him to Iceland and....the hunt continues. There is plenty of similarities to current facts or current fiction to keep this reader fully engaged!!! Read It!
I highly recommend this outstanding Jason Borne thriller! And remember I recall most of my past...

The Bourne Sacrifice is the latest installment in the saga of Jason Bourne’s search to uncover his memory. The plot is fast paced and very exciting in his quest to uncover an organization known as Pyramid and a killer named Lennon.
Part of the story is extremely pertinent in today’s world with respect to misinformation vs. fact as reported by various media outlets- both mass media and social media.
Clandestine operations, murder, misinformation, intrigue and romance are plentiful throughout this well written (by Brian Freeman) and entertaining book.
I thank Penguin Group Putnam for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Another terrific Jason Bourne thriller. He is on the trail again, of the assassin, Lennon, who had managed to evade death when he previously pursued him in Iceland. His search takes him to Washington & NY while he works to unravel the worldwide criminal enterprise known as the Pyramid abd Lennon's involvement in it, which brings him back into the circle of life with Abbey, from his past. Together they race against time to uncover the players behind several deaths and to eliminate Lennon, once and for all Thrills follow one another as the plot twists &
and the bodies start piling up. Great dialogue, continual reconnect to Jason's past, and his ongoing search for answers from the forgotten years.
Bring on the next chapter👍

Jason Bourne is an icon and the late, great Robert Ludlum was his handler. In fact, when people would ask me who my favorite author was I would unfailingly answer, Robert Ludlum. Jason Bourne became a favorite character of mine and each new exploit filled me with expectation. When Mr. Ludlum passed away I was afraid Jason Bourne had died with him. But thankfully Mr. Freeman stepped into those big shoes and filled them perfectly.

Jason is back and joins forces with his old love to confront a problem that is as current today as inflation. In this world of 24 hour news, revolving social media platforms, polarization and alternative facts-who and what do you believe? Faced with the challenge of taking down the mysterious, powerful Pyramid, Jason must figure out what is real and what’s not.

Did I mention the action scenes? They won’t disappoint.

Mr. Freeman I’m sure Mr. Ludlum is saying, “Job well done!”

The Bourne Sacrifice is an exciting thriller by author Brian Freeman, continuing the Jason Bourne series originated by Robert Ludlum. The action keeps the reader's interest as Freeman knows just how to pace the activities that Bourne pursues in his attempt to do good. Here we have an agency created by powerful forces who try to change the public narrative with lies, misdeeds, and even death. Bourne meets a lover from his past and is challenged to both keep her safe, and keep her at a distance. Once on the thrill ride, the reader is advised (by me) to look straight ahead. Do not stop and wonder how this or that is possible. It's Jason Bourne at his best, and anything is possible!
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Interesting and well written I just personally couldn’t get into the story. An ax murderer who is connected to one of his victims families. She is not sure what to do with these visions and thoughts. Definitely creepy. Just a little slow and unbelievable at some points. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Usually a "new" author" to an old series spells trouble but not here. Bourne is just as bad and the book flies through the story. The investigative reporter from his history only bumped up the fun for me. Enjoy

Brian Freeman brings Jason Bourne back for a personal mission in a way that hardcore Bourne fans would deeply appreciate as much as the newer readers. The Bourne Sacrifice is by far Brian Freeman’s best and most action-packed Jason Bourne narrative.
Jason Bourne has left Treadstone and is now running all over the globe in hunt of his adversary and terrorist, Lennon, who claims to have the missing puzzle of Bourne’s memory. When Lennon teams up with a new terror organization called The Pyramid that specializes in employing social warfare as their major arsenal to achieve world domination discreetly, Bourne finds his love interest and journalist, Abbey Laurent, in the crosshairs of The Pyramid’s latest attack. Jason Bourne must grapple with his biggest challenge yet, starting a happy life with Abbey or chasing down his truth at the peril of losing all that he cares about.
The Bourne Sacrifice packs guns-blazing knuckles-busting action sequences literally from the first chapter. Brian Freeman’s eye for writing grounded and gritty shootouts and hand-to-hand combat sequences has improved drastically from the previous two books. The rivalry between Bourne and Lennon beautifully mirrors the classic Cain vs Carlos from Ludlum’s books. Freeman pits the two opposing forces against each other in a brilliant and successful maneuver to build up the momentous tense energy between the two without rushing the resolution.
Brian Freeman has wonderfully modernized Jason Bourne for the modern cutting edge technological era without detracting from his proclivity to handle spycraft and violence personally. The twists and turns are plentiful and thoroughly entertaining, many of which you won’t see coming. The foreboding and grim writing style is more reminiscent of Ludlum’s than ever, yet fresh and creative in its own right, presenting a stunning combination of the two to give the whole experience an ingenious vibe.
The Bourne Sacrifice’s unexpected cliffhanger ending will have you anxiously awaiting the next book in the series the moment you turn over the last page, such is the captivating aura of Freeman’s books. A must-read for all spy thriller aficionados.

Loved loved this Bourne book. I read my first Bourne story in 1996. I look forward to a new chapter in the Bourne series every year. Secret organizations, corrupt politicians, conspiracy theories, and always a never ending supply of adventure given to the reader in a Bourne story.
The Bourne Sacrifice does not disappoint any reader who’s looking to escape for a few hours into a world we are not usually exposed too. Abby Laurent and Jason Bourne together again in this story, fighting together to continue to survive and bring justice to wrongful doings. In this book Jason Bournes character shows emotions and feelings that we have not had the pleasure of witnessing in the previous books in this series. It was a nice element given into the story.
For any reader who enjoys a spy thriller give this book a try, if you’re are not familiar with the Bourne series you soon will fall in love with them

I first fell in love with the Bourne movies and now I'm in love with the books. But I suppose I'm just a huge fan of the Bourne character and the supporting characters in this book are amazing.

A secret society has murdered someone who is going to expose them. Abbey is brought in because all of the information is disappearing and someone wants her to find it.

Jason is out of Lennon and it brings in back into contact with Abbey. They cross paths as he tries to save her life again. His intention was to stay away from her to keep her safe.

Now that they're together can they bring down the people who are trying to destroy her and others who get in their way?

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
