Book was okay. It was chaotic following both timelines and multiple perspectives and they were too easy to line up to the conclusion once they were able to be figured out, making most of the story predictable, albeit very farfetched and this coming from someone who reads the Stephanie Plum novels knowing they're fluff pieces. The idea, even as someone who doesn't necessarily trust law enforcement, that a grieving father getting emotional and raising his voice while surrounded by police in his own home clearly without a weapon in a clearly safe environment would immediately illicit the response of an officer reaching for his sidearm is preposterous, even in 2022. Romanticizing a 14yo making out with an adult to further a romantic narrative for a 40 something year old woman is gross. Why the same hospital? Why the surveillance of the 14yo leaving the hospital but nothing of the baby being taken? How did a busy senator disappear with no one noticing to steal the baby in the first place and if it was planned during the family outing, how was the 14yo unaware of the plan and fake pregnancy?! The 14yo wasn't missing for long, how could the child be unaware of the pregnancy (fake or not) while the public is simultaneously aware enough of it to have a topic of discussion on the news surround when she is going to deliver? People don't just go from no bump to full term overnight. There wasn't much thought given to hospital protocol advancements in the last couple of decades, either. A senator's spouse not being easy to identify via a quick web search? Really? The change of dna being certain enough to attempt apprehension, nevermind traveling for it, to 'oh wait, no, there's a son, it was only a partial match'? I am all for suspended belief for a good story to work, but this entire story glossed over so many obvious problems and made the entire situation way too simple and improbable that it feels like the author believes readers are stupid. The story itself is fine, but this read like a draft rather than a published piece.

I have not read any of the other books in this series, but I will be! This book did not disappoint and I really enjoyed reading it. Definitely has twists you don't see coming. I'm looking forward to this author's other books! Thank you NetGalley for this ARC.

Little Did She Know, by Willow Rose. This was a amazing suspenseful book that will have you anxiously flipping each page just to see how the book will end. I have to tip my hat off to Mrs. Willow Rose for writing a well crafted, and mind tingling book that I simply couldn’t put down. Willow brings back FBI’s special profiler Eva Rae, who is a boss in her own right as woman, and a FBI Agent. I was very pleased to read a book were the woman had a powerful leading character role. Eva Rae displayed her smart, intellectual thinking, and her special skills as a profiler, while she fought to stay on her subjects heels, or toe to toe with the subject. I don’t know about you, but I always love a good suspense or thriller book with action that has your mind running on nothing but adrenaline, only to see if the villain gets his just deserts. Eva and her team certainly will give you this satisfaction and then some. As you read the book, the many twist and unpredicted turns will have you trying to piece the story together, which is always the fun part for me. I loved the swift pace of the book. In my opinion, the book is a page turner that reads quickly. The information supplied in certain parts of the book was informative. These details in the book helped me to understand how certain things took place or shape in the book. As I said before, you will like that the story is a page turner. Some moments in the book will have you a little in shock, but that’s to be expected with a suspenseful book. I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers… read on!

A thrilling book with a lot of twists and turns. This was a good book but sometimes was hard to follow as the different chapters would be from different perspectives and sometimes it wasn’t clear whose they were. Overall a good read

Brief Synopsis: Fourteen years ago, a newborn is stolen. Fourteen years later, that same child (now a teenager) reappears and another baby is stolen. The kicker is, this baby has a heart defect and will die without immediate surgery. Can Eva Rae and her team of investigators track down the mysterious kidnapper?

Thoughts: This is book #10 in the Eva Rae Thomas Mystery series and can be read as a standalone novel. The narrative is laid out through an alternating “THEN” and “NOW” style. The characters are realistic, but I wouldn’t say that the storyline is believable. My only qualm is that the storyline was a little hard to follow, especially towards the end. In fact, I had to reread the last 25% and I still feel like I need a chapter summary to understand. That said, I enjoyed the twist and honestly didn’t see it coming. It was a great, light, “who-done-it” mystery.

Thank you to Willow Rose, Buoy Media, and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. If you enjoy police investigatory storylines with a dual timeline, this book would be a great choice.

Firstly, I am thankful for the opportunity to have received a copy of this Ebook through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I did end up enjoying this book, although to be honest the begining is a little confusing, the way it switches between characters and time frames without giving any kind of indication as to who and what is being referenced. It becomes clear after a few chapters though however and I got through this one quickly. I liked the fact the chapters were short and quick and the story progressed well with some twists and turns in there.

This was my first read by Willow Rose and I will likely check out some more of her novels soon. 4 Stars!

Wow! I have to say this was my first Willow Rose mystery and I’m still shocked - how did she do that!? I mean it’s all there and completely laid out, no questions out it but I didn’t have the mystery solved until she wanted me to. She’s a genius and I’ll be hunting down more of her work as soon as possible!

Eva, Alex and Walsh hunt down the answers for a girl appeared and a newborn missing. The multiple threads that seem to only be slightly connected are carefully sewn together to reveal a conclusion like no other. I could feel the emotions of the characters - sadness, exhaustion, desperation and the urgency. I could even taste the stake out M&Ms. I finished in one sitting, literally nothing could have made me put this book down.

I highly recommend this book to everyone that enjoys a good thrilling mystery!

Twist & Turns ✅

I should start by saying that I have ONLY ever read author Willow Rose’s Eva Rae Thomas series. I was introduced to the author by this very series and have loved all the previous books and this one just WOW, it did not disappoint.

This novel is one that has a fast-paced page turner that draws in the reader and keeps them at the edge of their seat the entire time.

Fourteen years ago a baby went missing. Fourteen years later that baby, now a teen, is found in a swamp. Badly beaten, confused and pregnant. The missing baby, now found teenage girl, Carissa won’t speak to anyone, not telling anyone what happened to her. But now another baby girl is missing. From the same hospital Carissa went missing fourteen years ago no less. The police believe that the cases are connected. Questions are piling, no answers uncovered and now to race against time since the newly kidnapped baby girl is in need of a life saving heart surgery.

The FBI decides to call in former Profiler Eva Rae Thomas. She is the best but she also knows a personal stake in the case. Especially since being reunited with her sister who was kidnapped when they were little girls.

I am very picky about books. I know, I know it's a book and many things are not real life but it's the passion that her character Eva seems to emit into her case, the rush of racing against time, the elements that can hinder a law enforcement official in a case, etc. I can’t praise Willow enough for always being able to captivate my attention and keeping my face buried in a book until the very end. This book could be read as a standalone but because I have read the rest of the series prior to this one, I can understand more of this story line. Like why it's so personal to MC Eva. Without spoiling too much, in another book we get a glimpse on the day Eva’s sister went missing.

Such an entertaining read with a good mystery and engaging plot that I would recommend to other readers.

As usual I LOVED this book. I have loved everything written by this author after the first book I ever read.

It was a little confusing since each chapter was from a different person's perspective, but overall it was a good story. I was able to read it in a few hours.

I have been looking for a 5 star read for a few months and have finally found one. This book drew me in right away and was almost impossible to put down. Babies go missing and the book is about the detectives trying to find the missing babies. There were tons of twists and turns and I did not expect it to turn out the way it did. I loved every second of this book. The short chapters made it fast to get through as well. The only negative thing about this book was that it was a little confusing jumping between peoples stories and time frames but this book was still amazing that that didn’t bother me too much. Totally recommend this book to anyone looking for a 5 star thriller.

First things First, thanks NetGalley for providing me an ARC copy of this book.

Another thing probably worth stating is that I started this book without knowing that it was part of a series, yet even if I didn't had all the background of the main and other characters I could read it and understand everything. (And of course I’m gonna read all the others as soon as I can)

So, the book follows an ex FBI agent contacted by the police to help with a case of a missing baby taken from a hospital. This baby has a hearth condition and finding it is a task with a ticking clock. But the day that a baby disappeared a teenager was found, a girl that disappeared years ago from the same hospital when she was just a newborn. With an teen unwilling to talk cooperate the task of finding the newborn girl seems impossible yet every possible clue is worth following. As the story moves we realize that the narration is divided between the present and a similar case that Eva had 13 years ago, when a baby was stollen form a house.
The book is easy to follow and fast to read. The need for answers moves the narrative almost on its own. The characters present a mixture of work and home related problems, making them more real to the reeder. A very well written mystery that keeps you constantly on the edge of your sit. A must for everyone who enjoys a good mystery involving detectives, and that could be read in only a few days.

This was the first book in the series that I have read, however it is actually the tenth book in the Eva Rae series. I really wish that Netgalley would disclose this information in the descriptions, however I understand why they don’t for requesting purposes. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. It was a very quick read that I read in one sitting. There are many characters and simultaneous stories being told, however they all come together in the end. I did not have a hard time following along at all.

This book was sent to me by Netgalley electronically for review. I liked this book. However, I had a difficult time keeping up with the sequence of events, the plot. I could not discern if there had been one child stolen, two children, or even three. This was so confusing for me that I had to stop reading at times. I did persevere to the end, and the story did all come together in a timely fashion. However, there must be some way to write this book without so much confusion. That being said, this author is talented and gifted in writing this book, unique actually...different...not the norm...and totally fantastic in weaving such a story that does finally come together...enjoy this one.

I love this series and this book did not disappoint me….. I’ve again Eva Rae puts her own chaotic life on hold , this time for a child who was kidnapped as an infant and has now been found as a teenager in a swamp. Eva Rae must battle time as a new infant is now missing and they think is a replacement for the now teenage child. As always Eva Rae takes things into her own hands to solve the mystery and save the day. This story shows a new possibility for romance in future books…..can’t wait to read the next instalment

I received an advanced copy from NetGalley, all opinions are my own.

I would recommend this book to friends and my book club

This is one of the best mysteries I've read lately. Fast placed and just confusing enough to keep me going. I was getting a little frustrated with the chapters titled "Then" because I couldn't figure out what it was referring to. It was a great ending! I will definitely read more from this author..

Willow Rose creates another fast paced, page turner in Little Did She Know. Per usual, with her writing, you're drawn into the story right from the beginning! This book was a bit different than others, that I've read, because many of the characters weren't very likeable. For example: Ex boyfriend, Matt, seems to have turned into a self-absorbed jerk and the "main" victim is a know-it-all bully throughout most of the book. There's even an egotistical, negligent cop thrown into the mix. But Eva does the job with her usual care and professionalism.
Over 14 years ago, shortly after she was born, Clarissa was kidnapped from the hospital where she was born. Linda, her mom, has been searching for her ever since. So, being reunited with her kidnapped daughter should have been one of the happiest days of her life but it isn’t. Clarissa appears not to want anything to do with her mom and she absolutely will not talk to anyone, including the police.
Then another baby is abducted from that very hospital, again. Since the authorities are sure that they're looking for the same person who abducted Clarissa, they're desperate for her to answer their questions. So, they bring in former profiler, Eva Rae Thomas. Unfortunately, she's familiar with Clarissa's mom. Despite Linda being a bully, Eva is willing to help out. Especially since it could mean life or death for the missing baby.

This is a really good read. I did get a little confused with the skipping back and forth between two babies being kidnapped and missed an important point. This is one mystery I didn't find easy to figure out.
I enjoyed the story very much and the central character, FBI agent Eva Rae Thomas, is all around excellent. An officer, a mother, human, smart, tough and fallible. I want to read more.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for my advanced reader's copy. This is my own personal opinion.
