The messages behind this action-packed story are universal and readers will see themselves inside. Learning to overcome performance anxiety by helping others is an excellent life lesson. Readers will learn so much about racing too, especially with the racing terms defined in kid-friendly definitions in the backmatter. The story itself, however, is very wordy and tells more than it shows.

This is a fantastic book to read to your little ones both young and old that gives them a lesson as well. NASCAR legend Dale Earnhart Jr. wrote this book about facing your fears and never giving up, something all of us need reminding of.

This was such a cute story about a race car that “keeps breaking things.” But the best part was the message about not letting your nerves and fears get the best of you, and not letting them hold you back. Buster overcame those worries and did his best all while helping a friend in the process. The illustrations were fantastic as well.

I received and ARC of this book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Recommend from birth and up! People who love racing will love it extra much.

This is a sweet little story and teamwork and self-love told and illustrated in the spirit of John Cena's Elbow Grease. Earnhardt does not disappoint. Usually one would gravitate toward a story like this for boys, but one of the race cars is female and the book is dedicated to his two daughters. It's a great choice for everyone!

This was such a fun book! I love NASCAR racing it is something my Grandpa and I would watch together. I liked that the story was fun and also had a lesson in it. I liked that you met the team before the story began and got a little information on them. The graphics were fun. It is definitely one I think would be fun to read to your kids.

I’m always on the lookout for car-themed books for my kids and Buster’s Trip to Victory Lane didn’t disappoint! The illustrations are so fun and colorful! The cars have distinct personalities and sounds and the pages are just plain fun to look at! I also love the way the words travel along the page as if they’re part of the race too - very fun for all readers! The overall theme of caring more about the team than your individual performance is a good message for kids, particularly those who are starting sports or school activities that can get competitive. Definitely a cute addition to a bookshelf for car loving kids!

Buster’s Trip to Victory Lane is a cute story about racing and worry. Buster worries that he makes too many mistakes but when he helps his teammate, he learns that as long as you learn from your mistakes, that’s what matters. Both my 6 and 10 year old daughters enjoyed this book and I enjoyed reading it aloud to them.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book for my honest opinion.

SUPER cute illustrations that will keep the attention of car fans and not-so-much fans. The racing dictionary in the back in a great addition!

Tara Rum Pum (Bollywood movie about facing and conquering your demons as a race driver), but even better.

Thanks for the ARC, NetGalley and the publishers - quite the uplifting read!

This book was way too long. It led to reading drifts. The illustrations are fantastic. So are the explanations in the beginning and the end of the book about different racing terms. I do not know if this is the first Dale Earnhardt Junior kids book but if it is, before he puts out a second one, his coach needs to work on pacing of a story.

Thanks to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I highly recommend it for readers ages 4-8 or NASCAR Fans. Really cute illustrations and a dictionary in the back of racing terms. I also loved the introduction of the characters on the first page. Very Cute!! I grew up watching Dale Earnhardt Sr race, so I knew I’d want to add this book to our library!

I love the introduction of the main characters at the beginning of the book and the racing dictionary at the end of the book. I love Scuff's eye patch, so nefarious.

Buster has some anxiety about the upcoming race and his abilities. I like that the teams worked together to help Buster overcome his fears and they did it by focusing on the positive.

Overall, a fun children's book.

I grew up watching Dale Earnhardt Sr race, so I knew I’d want to add this book to my kids’ library! While the writing was a bit clunky, the illustrations and story made up for it and I especially enjoyed the dictionary at the end!

Buster’s Trip to Victory Lane is a great story about the power of team work and the importance of helping our friends. My son was instantly attracted to the illustrations of the race cars, and enjoyed the story. Obviously the authors time as a race car driver and part of a team was great inspiration for these characters and story.

This book is cute! I read it to my son who loves anything to do with racecars. He requests to read this almost daily. Highly recommend.

This was fun kids book that deals with Buster, a little car learning to face his racing fears. The illustrations are good and it has an overall positive message. However, I think that the other cars could have used more character, and sometimes the text seems a little long winded. It definitely isn’t as strong as Elbow Grease.

Still, an overall fun book that I think many kids will enjoy!

Buster’s Trip to Victory Lane is a beautifully illustrated book that talks about the difficulty and rewards of trying new things. The author uses a race car named Buster to teach perseverance and the importance of trying even when things don't always go right the first time. Buster also learns about friendship and comradery through his racing team.

I love the style of art chosen to illustrate the book. The message is present and understandable throughout the story.

The author is none other than the world famous NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Having previously read his autobiography leads me to understand that he knows the importance of diligence especially with trying new or risky things. His use of a race car as the main character is perfect and a nice change from the many animal themed children’s books that are so common with teaching lessons.

Buster’s Trip to Victory Lane would be a great addition to any school or home library. Any little race car fan would love the sweet message and fun illustrations.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson: Children’s!
