Anytime I see Sheila Roberts’ name on a holiday or Christmas story I know it is going to be good! This one does not disappoint, as it has three different stories in it. Each story is nicely written and is a quick read for a little Christmas spirit. I love how each story has a very strong plot and the characters feel so lifelike. If you were looking for a great new holiday book, this would be a perfect addition to your reading.

I loved reading Darcy, Willow, and Kacey's stories. These are three stories by three different authors about home, family, starting over, adventures, and love. What a better way to find yourself and rebuild your life than at Christmastime. Sheila Roberts, Melissa Ferguson, and Amy Clipston, write three novellas about what was thought to be a perfect life has you running either home, or away, to find your true dreams. Love it!

If you like Hallmark Christmas movies, you may love "On the Way to Christmas." A collection of three novellas featuring Christmas romances, I was expecting feel-good holiday cheer. But to me, the stories felt rushed and a even a few characters disconcerting by turns.

Obviously, a downside of novellas is that you may feel like you missed the back story because there wasn't enough time for character development. But "A Christmas Do-Over" left me feeling like I missed the first chapters.

"Dashing Through the Snow" had Melissa Ferguson's characteristic originality. But one of the characters set me so on edge, I had a hard time trusting the rest of the characters who trusted this guy.

"A Perfectly Splendid Christmas" was what I expect from a Hallmark style Christmas novella. Small town guy and big city girl reconnect at Christmas and in a few impossibly short scenes have to decide if their love is worth changing their locations and life goals. No major complaints except the timeline, which again, is a downside of novellas.

Description from christianbook.com :

A Christmas Do-Over when job loss forces her to return to her small hometown.

A Yuletide breakup sends Willow Dashing Through the Snow solo on the Christmas Express---with hilarious results.

And big-city Kacey and small-town Drew share A Perfectly Splendid Christmas. But where do they go from here?

I know that I'm not the only one reaching for feel-good Christmas stories early this year. As the world seems heavy and exhausting, we all need stories of hope and joy.
Of the three stories, Dashing Through the Snow was by far my favorite; I loved the story of a Christmas train ride, and the characters made it so much fun.

Overall, I give this book 3 stars, but Dashing Through the Snow is a 4-star story.

I received a digital copy of this book, via NetGalley, in exchange for my honest review.

On the Way to Christmas is a fun collection of novellas set during the most wonderful time of the year. Sheila Roberts, Melissa Ferguson, and Amy Clipston bring us three stories of forgiveness, redemption, healing and faith. Sheila Roberts's story brings us Darby walking the walk to redemption. Known as the mean girl, people are not exactly clamoring to have her back. Will she find her redemption? Melissa Ferguson tells us the tale of Willow. Dumped on the eve of a wonderful Christmas trip, Willow decides to persevere and go alone. Will three men show her that all is not lost? Finally Amy Clipston introduces us to Kacey, a big city girl who gets called back to her small home town. While helping her sister, Kacey falls in love with her old love, small town guy, Drew. Will they meet somewhere in the middle? I love how these stories tackle real life problems during a magical time of year. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.

I love these kind of books because it allows me to "try out" new to me authors while enjoying some old faves just in case I don't like them. In this case I loved Sheila Roberts and look forward to reading more from her.

The first novella written by Ms Roberts was pure delight and a great way to begin this book. The characters, the plot, the dialogue and flow of this tale kept me engaged to the very end.

Overall this book was an enjoyable read. Delightful quick stories to brighten your day.

On the Way to Christmas contains three sweet novellas by Sheila Roberts, Melissa Ferguson and Amy Clipston. The stories are not connected, but had a wonderful Christmas theme and were a joy to read. I enjoyed myself in a small town, on a Christmas train, and reading a homecoming redemption story. I greatly enjoyed this book and recommend it.

I was given a copy by the publisherand not required to write a view.

On the Way to Christmas is a collection of three holiday novellas written by three different authors. Each story is unrelated and therefore can be read in any order, all at once or spread out throughout the holiday season.

Before reading this, I was already a fan of two of the three authors. Sheila Roberts was new to me. One of the things I love most about collections such as this one is that it not only gives me more to read from authors I already know and love, but it introduces me to those who were previously unfamiliar to me before. After reading her contribution to this particular collection, I definitely find myself wanting to check out more from her too.

As mentioned, the stories in this collection are shorter than your typical novel. For me personally, each one to somewhere around an hour to read. I love these types of novellas during the holiday season especially as it tends to get so hectic and it can be a little harder to keep up with a longer novel. While novellas at times can feel a bit incomplete, I did not find that to be the case in the stories included here. Sure, there were characters I would have enjoyed spending some more time with, but I didn't feel like I was missing anything by the end.

Overall, I thought this was a great collection with a good blend of humor, romance, and holiday cheer in each of the stories. If you love a good holiday romance and are looking for something quick and fun to read this holiday season, this is certainly one to check out.

** I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.

I had never heard of any of the authors in this set prior to reading this novel, but the blurb for A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston sounded promising enough for me to take a chance.

A Christmas Do-Over by Sheila Roberts
Darby doesn’t want to go home for the holidays, but a career fail sends her slinking back to the small town she always wanted to escape. No one there is especially glad to see the former mean girl—especially not her sister, Erica, or childhood best friend, Gregory. Darby is working hard to be a better person, but has she eaten enough humble pie to make amends?

Dashing Through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson
When Willow’s boyfriend of seven years dumps her on the eve of a romantic getaway, she decides to take the two-week train trip on The Christmas Express alone. Hurt as she feels, she can’t anticipate how the hilarious rebound ride with conductor Oliver, elf Ian, and aging world adventurer Clarence will heal her heart—and renew her sense of worth.

A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston
Kacey adores the metropolitan life, but when she gets away to help her sister during a family crisis and run her bakery, she falls in love with former classmate Drew. The problem: he’s a small-town man, and she’s a big-city woman. Is their love big enough to overcome such a major difference?

A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston was my favourite read, and the only one I actually finished. The other two seemed quite silly and juvenille to me.

A Perfectly Splendid Christmas is a sweet, second chance romance set at Christmastime, starring a music teacher as the leading man. A nice, quick read that had lots of Christmas cheer throughout.

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest review.

I confess, I only read Melissa Ferguson's story because I love her books. It definitely got me into the Christmas spirit and should be made into a Hallmark movie immediately!

Dashing Through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson was undoubtedly my favorite in this novella collection. 4.5 STARS all the way! It felt like the Polar Express mixed with a rom-com. Unique, sentimental, and fun! I loved the writing style and how real and comfortable the characters seemed.

The other novellas were both a let-down for me. Keep in mind, I'm not a Hallmark movie fan. Maybe you'll enjoy them. But both felt too cliché in my opinion.

Also, all the novellas are secular as far as Christmas themes go.

I'll definitely be reading more from Melissa Ferguson.

*I received a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

On the Way to Christmas by Sheila Roberts, Melissa Ferguson and Amy Clipston is a delightful compilation of three stories by these three women authors. A chill is in the air and there is a little more than two months til Christmas. For me it is the perfect time to start delving into Christmas stories. These are three feel good, wholesome Christmas stories.

The first story is "A Christmas Do-Over" which features Darby, a former mean girl, who finds herself making amends as she reconnects with family and friends in her hometown.
"Dashing Through the Snow" is an adventure on a ‘real-life’ Polar Express. Willow was supposed to take this romantic train with her boyfriend. Their untimely breakup has her going it alone. Will the magic of the holiday mend a broken heart?
Last but certainly not least is "A Perfectly Splendid Christmas". Kacey comes back home to help out at her sister’s bakery. Kacey gets the opportunity to make amends and reignite her friendship with her old best friend.
The three stories were all very different but they all leave the reader feeling good. while still giving that warm and fuzzy holiday feel. Definitely delightful. I got just enough merry making to feel very happy. This would be a great collection to pick up around Thanksgiving to kick off the Christmas season.
I would like to thank Sheila Roberts, Melissa Ferguson, Amy Clipston, Thomas Nelson – Fiction and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

ON THE WAY TO CHRISTMAS: THREE STORIES is an anthology set between Thanksgiving and Christmas and is a fun read with a lot of Christmas spirit. I’ve read books by Ms. Roberts and Ms. Ferguson before, but Ms. Clipston is new to me. I look forward to reading more books by each of them. And what a cute cover!

A Christmas Do-Over by Sheila Roberts

Darby was a mean girl growing up, and it doesn’t sound like she’s changed all that much in the ensuing years. When she returns home to the small town she grew up in, most aren’t happy to see her—not even her younger sister whom she’ll have to share a room with again. We learn of her biting remarks as well as her nasty persona, but she’s trying to change when she sees her former best friends are still as nasty as ever, and she realizes how it feels when she’s on the receiving end of the mean jokes. She’s especially trying to make amends with her sister and her former best friend, Gregory. But will it be too little too late?

The story has a nice flow and vivid descriptions. I loved the holiday preparations and how Darby’s attitude changed through her hard work, along with some of her relationships.

Dashing Through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson

I liked the premise of the story but some of it gave me a creepy feel—especially Ian, the elf. I liked that Willow was able to get on with her life and get a backbone after getting dumped by her boyfriend of seven years, and just when she thought he might propose. Lucky for her, he didn’t!

Clarence and his grandson, Oliver, the current conductor of The Christmas Express, gave the story a magical feel. I loved all the thoughtful things they did, each in their own way and not looking for anything in return. Willow showed the type of person she was from the start and had a goodness about her. Even if she couldn’t always see it, others seemed to. There were a lot of Christmas activities, and most were unexpected. I loved the closure and how lives can be redirected when you open yourself up to new adventures.

A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston

This was probably my favorite story, and I wish it had gone on a little longer since it ended too abruptly for me. Kacey comes home from Charlotte to the small town she grew up in to help her sister with her bakery while Dani’s husband is out of work. It helps that she can do her job remotely. Kacey never expected to run into her former best friend, Drew. She always hoped for more from their relationship, but when she went to the prom with his best friend and then started dating him, Drew could no longer even be friends. But now that their paths have crossed again and they’re both single, could there be more? If his life is enmeshed in their small town while hers is in the big city, will they be able to work it out?

There were an abundance of holiday traditions, and I loved Kacey’s relationship with her family, including her nieces, but also with Drew as they renewed their friendship. Drew was definitely on the quiet side even though he was a music teacher, but they balanced each other out. They just needed to learn to communicate better. She was very giving and wanted to make life easier for her family. The flow of the story was just right and the ending was filled with promise.

All in all, ON THE WAY TO CHRISTMAS: THREE STORIES, is a great read leading up to the holidays.

I have enjoyed all three of these novellas.

A Christmas Do Over by Sheila Roberts

Darby used to be a rambunctious teenager always testing her boundaries until she met up with the wrong crowd and started being a mean girl because she thought that made her cool. Now that she has gotten older she is still the mean girl but is trying to work on that. She has a sister who barely can stand her and Darby wants to change that.

So all she wants for Christmas is to show her sister and her hometown that she isn't the mean girl anymore.

Dashing through the Snow by Melissa Ferguson

I loved this story. As the story started out, I felt sorry for Willow because her boyfriend left her and she had to go on that romantic trip that he booked for them and then left her before they took the trip.

After reading this story I would love to trade places with Willow in a minute.

A Perfectly Splendid Christmas by Amy Clipston.

This book fits right in with the other three stories in this collection. I loved it from the beginning to the end and just could not put it down. As with any book by Amy Clipston, you will finish it pretty quickly because it is hard to do anything else until its done.

On the Way to Christmas is a compilation of three short stories by Sheila Roberts, Melissa Ferguson and Amy Clipston. This is an absolutely charming collection of stories, each one festive, Christmasy, delightful and heart-warming. Though they are short, each story is complete and well fleshed out. Each story has a different topic and tone and provides nice variety.

The first story is feisty and tells the tale of a mean girl who experiences a change of heart and decides to turn over a new leaf with her family and friends. The second story is a beautiful story about a newly single woman who uses the tickets her soon to be fiancé purchased for them both, on a cross-country Christmas train ride. The third story is about a young woman who returns to her home town to help her sister out during a difficult time, and is given a second chance with an old friend and hopeful flame.

These stories are enchanting, clean, sweet romances and the perfect choice for a busy holiday season. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for the digital arc of this seasonal new release.
