It really isn't summer until there's a new Elin Hilderbrand book set on Nantucket, am I right?? This one focuses on the staff, guests and owners of a run-down historic hotel, complete with a ghost. With a wide cast of characters, I found it a little bit hard to keep track or get too invested in any one storyline. Overall this was enjoyable but I found it could have been shortened a bit to no ill effect. Not my favorite book by this author but still a solid beach read that is sure to entertain her loyal fans. Much thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my ALC!

One of my favorite Elin Hilderbrand books to date! I loved the woven bit of mystery, the flow kept me entertained, and all of the characters were likable. I had the chance to listen to this on audio book and it was fantastic. I found myself yearning to "get back to the characters" any free moment I could spare.

I flew through this book. It included the ghost of Grace, a chambermaid killed in a fire at the hotel back in 1922 but the details surrounding the death were a mystery - hence why she's "haunting" the hotel. At first, I thought this was a little hokey for Hilderbrand but it was tastefully throughout the book.

Lots of plot details and each character had their own storylines and were nicely wrapped up in the end. A solid 5 stars for anyone looking for a great women's fiction read (or listen)!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Just as enjoyable as the ebook. Loved the ghost and how the book was wrapped up at the end. Elin Hinderbrand is one of the very best in this genre.

Fresh out of a long term relationship and looking to start fresh, Lizbet Keaton applies for the job as General Manager for the Hotel Nantucket. Grace Hadley, a ghost, has been trapped in the hotel since 1922 after a fire engulfed the fourth floor storage area where she slept. Can the two women move on from their pasts and find peace? That is the premise of The Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand.

After spending thirty million dollars to renovate and renew The Hotel Nantucket, Xavier Darlings goal of impressing two women begins. The first is a popular travel blogger who goes by Shelly Carpenter, though no one knows her real identity, rates hotels using keys (instead of stars). Her expectations are so high that she didn't award a hotel with five keys because the type of pen was not up to her standards. Xavier wants to be the first hotel Shelly awards with five keys. But who is the other woman Xavier wants to impress? Well, that, you'll have to read the story to find out.

There are a lot of characters in this story. And I mean, a lot. This is both good and bad. Good because I was always entertained, but also bad because I couldn't find myself invested or their stories didn't get the proper closure. This complaint also includes Grace Hadley. Someone I'd consider a main character had large lapses of time where she'd go unmentioned and I wasn't a fan of that.

Overall it was an enjoyable beach read. The romance was well done and while one plot twist was pretty obvious, the other did surprise me.

Elin Hilderbrand has done it again. Not only did she make me want to buy and run on hotel on Nantucket, she made me love every single one of her characters---even the ones that I hated at first. I loved the playlists and can't wait for them to be released when the book releases. Not a fan of the paranormal, but this book is THE exception. Five stars and PLEASE someone take the description of the hotel and create this hotel--mirror ball, whipped cream, cashmere throws and all!

I wait all year long for Elin’s beach reads - it means summer is truly almost As always, there’s quite a cast of characters (and cameos from some old favorites - a mention of Fast Eddie Pancik on page 1 was truly chef's kiss!) - I’m a little more halfway through now and I don’t want it to end because I’ll have to wait another year for the next one! It releases June 14, so get it on your radar now.

This novel was such a cute, fun story about a new hotel in Nantucket and it’s staff which include everyone from a general manager recently out of a long term relationship, a couple of front desk women for completely different backgrounds, a male maid from a wealthy background trying to atone for past mistakes, a secret millionaire as the head of housekeeping and more unique characters. I loved following each characters stories and rooting for their success with this new, magnificent hotel!

This novel would be such a fun pool or beach side read this summer which is perfect because it releases June 14th!

FIVE BIG BEACH STARS!
Full reveal - I read the story first, but Erin Bennett's voice is completely engaging and quickly pulled me back into this magical tale.

Elin Hilderbrand is of course infamous for her beach tales set on the Island of Nantucket. It's awe inspiring that she continues to create unique story after story taking place on such a small short. This book, however, is one of the best.

In Hotel Nantucket we, as always, meet a great cast of characters dealing with secrets and problems of the heart - some big, some small. Best of all, the stories are set at a luxurious new hotel. My favorite sort of reads include a luxurious backdrop !

Our heroine, Lizbet, is recovering from a terrible breakup when she is chosen to become general manager of a hot new property that Richard Bran-type billionaire Xavier Darling has purchased. A bit over her head, she will use her local knowledge and dogged work ethic to ensure the that staff she has hired makes Xavier proud and earns the elusive high rating of the mystery hotel and restaurant instagram rater Shelly Carpenter.

Hilderbrand juggles a lot of characters including a hotel ghost, magnificently. There is plenty of drama but everything wraps up neatly at the end - as it is, of course, a beach read! #TheHotelNantucket #Netgalley #LittleBrownandCo

If you want to imagine yourself relaxing at a pristine beach or luxury hotel, if you are looking for some smart romance, if you are hoping for a novel that stars heroines that that are strong and fierce, then this book is for you!
Best of all, Elin includes her own best of the best recommendations in Nantucket at the end of the book in her signature voice. I can't wait to go! #Hachetteaudio #netgalley #hotelnantucket

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. I love Elin Hilderbrand books, but this one will not go down as a favorite. It was a good read, great plot and excellent characters, but there was too much going on, and just not as good as her other books.

In the 1920s a fire destroyed The Hotel Nantucket, killing a young chambermaid as well. Now it’s been renovated from top to bottom and turn into an elegant hotel. Lizbet is hired as general manager who puts together inexperienced staff that work to achieve a charismatic atmosphere. Of course they have to get along with their coworkers and the guests. You know there’s drama oh and the ghost of the chambermaid keeping things interesting.

I really enjoyed this story. I felt like I was a guest in the hotel and just hanging out in the lobby seeing things unfold. It made me want summer to come even faster. It gave me vibes from The Blue Bistro, an earlier book by this author. I liked the multiple points of view and the amount of tension in this one.

After reading one of Elin’s books I always want to book a trip to Nantucket. This one is no different. The perfect vacation read.

This will be posted to my Instagram shortly.

This was an excellent book. Nothing less than I expected from the author. This will be a repeat beach read for me when I get my pre-ordered signed copy. Thank you Elin Hilderbrand!

I love Elin Hilderbrand, It's such a treat to read it this summer.
It gave me similar vibes to Golden Girl, Which is my second fave book of her.. My first favorite is 28 Summers.

What I loved:
-The story was through multiple points of view (similar to Golden Girl). You got to hear not only from the main characters but also secondary characters who had smaller parts in the story. Which i really enjoy!

When you are approved for an Elin Hilderbrand advance copy, YOU DROP EVERYTHING, even if it doesn’t release until June. I feel like I’m part of an elite club for getting my hands on an advance listener’s copy of this gem!

I think a common misunderstanding is that this author is a romance writer. While her novels are very light-heartened and beachy, that is not at all the truth and I am very glad I gave her a shot.

Hotel Nantucket focuses on a quirky group of individuals, alive and paranormal, who form unlikely camaraderie while working in the opening season of the haunted and once dilapidated hotel that was repaired to perfection by a British millionaire with questionable motives. The story unfolds over the course of one summer where the group tries to achieve what has never been done before, earn 5 “keys” (stars) from a harsh, undercover travel review blogger. Everyone has their own secrets and there is no shortage of drama that summer… but can they pull off the 5 keys? And will they uncover the truth about the hotel’s haunted past in the process?

This story was a great escape to a faraway summer paradise. I felt like I was in the hotel alongside the characters and knew them intimately.

Additionally, I am admittedly biased, but having gone to college in Ithaca myself, all references to the area warmed my nostalgic heart and was a nice unexpected addition.

This was a truly enjoyable book and I devoured it fast. The narrator was also amazing and one of the best I’ve heard for audiobooks thus far.

Brb reading Hilderbrand’s entire back list!

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Hachette Audio, LB&C, and the author for this ALC!

Even though a 28 y/o male certainly isn’t the target audience for this novel, my husband’s unsolicited thoughts from listening to 1/3 of the audiobook with me during a road trip: that the author used “blue hydrangea” too often (even when I tried to explain it was because of the hotel’s signature colors and painting the scene, which did not bother me at all) and he believes some of the references to pop culture (peloton, Olivia Rodrigo song, etc) will date the book quickly

Perfect light beach read! A little bit of everything; romance, mystery, crime and a happy ending. Loved that a ghost story was incorporated into the book.

Highly recommend! I listened to the audiobook and narrator was wonderful.

The reader was EXCELLENT. Just finished this one and know I will be thinking about the characters for awhile! I love the unique viewpoint of Grace and how she has her own opinions, but was also very non biased or judge mental for being from a much different time. The women in this book were all over the place personality wise and lines were crossed and blurred constantly, but somehow there was also forgiveness and empathy portrayed multiple times. I felt like I was in the hotel as a guest with a behind the scenes pass to spy on the staff! Can this hotel please be real?! It sounds so stunning! I would definitely recommend this book!

This story centers around an accidental death where the deceased is now a ghost and a main character in the story. Sound familiar? Well, it should because 'Golden Girl' had that same storyline. Right from the beginning, there's a lot of name dropping, book titles, authors, song titles, and their artists. It makes me wonder if the author is getting paid by the word. The next thing that I noticed was the anonymous person whose hotel reviews were paramount to this story which made me think of Mrs. Whistledown in 'Bridgerton' as they tried to figure out who Shelley Schwartz, the hotel reviewer, is. I also am aware of something that I guess the author is not, people from San Francisco would NEVER refer to their city as 'San Fran'. I would definitely make that correction before publication as well as explain to the narrator the correct pronunciation of 'BuckNELL', it's not 'BUCKnul'. OK, with those things out of the way, the hotel staff characters were, for the most part, likeable people and the reader does get involved with their lives.

What a perfect beach read! I felt instantly transported to the newly renovated Hotel Nantucket. I really loved all the characters, especially Lizbet. I was surprised about the ghost who haunts one of the floors, but that was a fun addition! Hilderbrand's writing transports you to lovely Nantucket, it feels as if you are there! I really liked the narrator, good pacing.

Thank you to NetGalley and Little, Brown and Company for the arc of The Hotel Nantucket for an honest review and feedback, This was my first Elin Hilderbrand book, and it DID NOT disappoint! WOW, this was such an entertaining book, I truly enjoyed it. Elin (who lives in Nantucket) does a wonderful job of describing everything in the setting, that I felt like I was actually at the hotel or riding my bike along the island. I truly believe this will be a summer hit when it is released on 6/14/22.

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
After a tragic fire in 1922 that killed 19-year-old chambermaid, Grace Hadley, The Hotel Nantucket descended from a gilded age gem to a mediocre budget-friendly lodge to inevitably an abandoned eyesore — until it's purchased and renovated top to bottom by London billionaire, Xavier Darling. Xavier hires Nantucket sweetheart Lizbet Keaton as his general manager, and Lizbet, in turn, pulls together a charismatic, if inexperienced, staff who share the vision of turning the fate of the hotel around. They face challenges in getting along with one another (and with the guests), in overcoming the hotel's bad reputation, and in surviving the (mostly) harmless shenanigans of Grace Hadley herself — who won't stop haunting the hotel until her murder is acknowledged.

Filled with the emotional tension and multiple points of view that characterize Elin's books (The Blue Bistro, Golden Girl) as well as an added touch of historical reality, Hotel Nantucket offers something for everyone in this summer drama for the ages.

I love Elin Hilderbrand as a fun, women's fiction author. Her books are always a fun, not-too-heavy-but-not-too-light read. Basically, to compare it with a favorite childhood story, Goldilocks and the three bears, Elin Hilderbrand is Mama Bear's stuff. Hotel Nantucket took a little departure from what I am used to in her stories with the character of a ghost being one of the narrators, but I loved Grace. I would love to have seen more of a development of the romance story for Lizbet, however, with a book this long, there were a lot of characters to get to, and I did love all their stories. Even the characters Grace deemed villains from the start ended up being a lot more than one-note.

Another bonus with The Hotel Nantucket was that adultery was not glorified in the novel. In previous novels, romanticizing adultery is the one aspect of many Hilderbrand novels that I have the most difficult time stomaching. The Hotel Nantucket steers away from that without pretending it doesn't happen.

All in all, I raced through this novel because I couldn't tear myself away from it! It left me feeling uplifted AND wanting desperately to visit The Hotel Nantucket or somewhere like it!!
