This was definitely an easy read and so enjoyable. This was also the first book I've read by this author and I like the combination of humor and spice. The kink in this wasn't too much it was perfect and had me hooked from the beginning.
This is well written and so engaging. As a reader that takes a few chapters to get into books sometimes this one had me right at the start!

I got this as a late ARC from netgalley and even with being intrigued by the blurb I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. But I was PLEASANTLY surprised to say the least. This book does contain somnophilia that IS consented to by both parties involved. There is a bit of hidden identity and some love triangle lite (in that one of the guys is more of a check this off the list and the other is genuine interest), but the dynamic between the three is fascinating and I genuinely enjoyed the story. Watching them and their antics through the blizzard and everything their hike involved was a good time and I really liked it!

I think this title is a great step for erotica. I find it difficult to discover well written erotica that is still descriptive of the sexual activity. To this end, the title could have more details but I think it was great overall. I would be interested to see where this character and her beau go, or further novels that allude to the fairy tale stories but not overly so. I liked that the main character had her "fairy tale" commentary, but this wasn't a rip of any specific tale and didn't follow any of those tropes. It also didn't drag through too much backstory but was summed up very succinctly. Very well balanced.

I went into this expecting more erotica and less plot, but what I got was actually the opposite! I really enjoyed the storyline here and I think that the erotica could have been punched up even more. So much of what happened was just in Summer’s head, I would have loved getting to the sexy times even faster and exploring that a bit more before the eventual resolution. And definitely would have preferred less fade-to-black scenes!! Overall this was a fun quick read, just with less smut than I expected.

Summer's slumber is a great erotic novel. It may start out a bit odd, but slowly you can see the plot unravel itself and Summer's adventure will captivate you.
Beside the great erotic scènes, romance will slowly come into play where you won't expect it at first.

Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for giving me this eARC to review.

I will say that I read this a while ago but my review seemed to never go through so I am having to give this review trying to remember a lot of what happened but I do remember how I felt about the book.

I wouldn't say that this book is just erotica because while there was a lot of smut there was some plot where it followed the characters trekking through mountains. It was a quick and easy read which was great because it needed to be just that. Summer's Slumber follows Summer as she explores her sexuality so this book does involve kink and if you can find content warnings then that may be helpful. I gave this a 2.5 but rounded to 3.

My first reading this genre ever, and I'm glad I did, but not sure I ever will again. The last third of the book was interesting and fun to read because as I said I'm new to erotica and have never read anything quite so descriptive, it was a fun read. However the first 2/3 of this book were so boring. I wasn't expecting every page to contain graphic sexual descriptions, but I also wasn't expecting an dull story about three people hiking and ogling each other. Literally nothing interesting happens and I almost didn't make it to the end. Luckily it's not a long book and I finished it in a day. I think if I'd read part one day and then tried to pick it back up another day I wouldn't have. I do very much appreciate netgalley and the publisher's for a free copy of the book in exchange for this honest review.

I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this one, considering it's a genre I don't normally read. I was in the mood for a smutty romance though, so I picked it up. And I actually really enjoyed it! Sure, it wasn't the most complex book, but it was fun. I'll admit, I was rooting for a threesome/poly relationship the whole time, but I still enjoyed the dynamic. I'll be keeping an eye out for other books by this author!

If I could I give this a solid 3 1/2 stars. It was an easy read. Very hot. I read this for the spice and this is admittedly my first erotica but I felt like there was some fade to black where I wanted more detail. I felt there were times when the writing came to life but others were it fell a little flat. I never felt there was any real danger with the snow storm and issues they faced in the cabins. Summer just pulled another cabin out. But I really didn’t enjoy it.

This is a VERY VERY spicy book. While everything that happens within the story is consensual it could be triggering.
Summer is trying to break free of the mundane and find herself through exploration. She works for a guiding company and has to fill in at the last minute to take two VIPs up the mountain. They get to know each other in a very intimate way.
NSFW!

Summer is an assistant for an adventure travel outfit and she's about to be stuck in the Colorado mountains with Troy and Emery. Summer has a very specific fantasy that she wants to fulfill and she's positive that Troy is the one to do it. She's left the charger for her vibrator, Hops, behind and her friend/manager, Kera, has initially warned her off of sex with either man. Until Kera realizes that she needs to money, then she's perfectly willing to prostitute her friend/assistant for the sake of her business.
A little more character building - especially of Troy - would've gone a long way to improving this story. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Summer does a lot of talking to herself and a fair amount talking to her vibrator which isn't charged. All in all, Wooley does a serviceable job here, although the book was billed as erotica, it's not particularly erotic.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased opinion.

3.75/5 STARS
Oh lord, how should I write this review without revealing my fantasies? Hmm...

Basically, this book is about a woman who wants to complete what you may call a sex bucket list, before settling down in a relationship. Include 2 hot men from London, forced proximity, winter cabins, and being off-the-grid to the mix, and voila! We have Summer's Slumber!

I enjoyed reading this book, because I am the female MC. The female MC is me. We have the same fantasies. We have the same taste in men. We love to overshare. We are too blunt and honest.

The men, on the other hand... I want them in my life. I want them to be my wingmen. It would be nice to have male friends like them, who I can vibe with and confide in.

My only issue is with the dialogues. It's not terrible, but I just lost interest in reading them. I found myself skimming a lot and skipping to the smut. I also would prefer the pace to be slower when it comes to developing their sexual relationship. Make it a bit more slow burn, I guess?

Overall, I liked the book. It was a fun and easy read. However, please look up the content and trigger warning, because this book is k!nky and it is not for everyone <3

DNF was too weird she was always sleeping. Also too slow. Not a fan of this one. I tried to get through it.

Summer gets dumped at a Renn Faire for essentially being too promiscuous. She stumbles drunk into the “fortune teller’s” tent and is told she needs to get to know herself before she gets into another serious relationship. There is also mention of a spirit quest and spirit animals which are not applied appropriately.

Summer takes this to mean that she needs to have a lot of meaningless physical intimacy and check off all her boxes of links that she cannot fathom sharing or exploring with a partner, to get them out of her system before trying to properly date again.

She’s down to just one last kink - being the object of somnophilia aka Sleeping Beauty.

This is the most important thing I think you need to be aware of going into this book. Yes, it’s a fluffy erotic novel. The story really isn’t deep, but it does involve a lot around the topic of being intimate with someone while they are asleep. This is all consensual, so it didn’t creep me out, but for people who maybe haven’t read a ton of dark romance, beware this is different.

Summer finds herself being the guide for a couple of men for a multiple day snowshoeing trek when a snowstorm and fear of a bear throw some wrenches into the trip and she finds herself holed up in some cabins with these two men she’s attracted to.

I’m sure you can see where things might go from there. Pretty decent amount of spice and enjoyable story.

My only complaint really is there is a small bit where they’re hiking between two cabins and afraid of a bear lurking nearby and stay silent. As a past employee of some national parks, you always want to be making noise if you are in bear country as if they hear you coming they will typically leave as they don’t like human interaction either. What you don’t want is to startle them.

Thank you to NetGalley and PotionPress for the eBook ARC to review.

Whoa! What a ride. It was very fast-paced. The writing style kept me hooked and I didn't find myself losing any interest. I enjoyed getting to know each of the characters and how real the story felt. The author did a great job painting the setting, so it was easy for me to visualize the scene played out before me. I recommend giving this one a chance!

I had recently finished reading The Handmaid's Tale and wanted something light and fluffy, hence Summer's Slumber. Our main character finds herself at a crossroads in her life, and after a visit to a palm reader heads off to find herself, not just emotionally, but also sexually. She writes a journal with a list of boxes to tick off, and the last one is for her the most challenging.
She's working as a tour guide in the snowy mountains and has to look after a rich businessman and his friend, and they get up to all kinds of adventures.
The book was a little slow and possibly not enough of the 'good stuff' for my tastes. Maybe more romance than erotica, although some of the scenes are quite hot.
I gave the book 3 out of 5, which was a little harsh, but 4 would have been too generous.

Summer Fellers was determined to truly know herself before she jumped into another destined-to-fail relationship. Coming from a vanilla background in a small town, her journey would take her into a world of taboo sexual exploration.
Her spirit quest is abruptly derailed when she finds herself leading an adventure trek with two men during a winter storm. As the complications mount, her job, her heart and their lives are put at risk.
She finds new opportunity to make her kinky dreams come true, if she can keep her life from being snowed under in the process.
Can she find herself while literally being lost in the woods?
It definitely had my heart pumping in quite a few spots! It was a great easy read.

I have never read a book like this before but I was amazed by this. The details were spot on, in my opinion. I would most definitely like to read more from this author. The only error I saw was the page numbers were off so it was a but difficult to track my progress but that's okay. Thank you Netgallery for giving me a copy to read this very intriguing book.

A book about exploration, about a journey, and a snowstorm.

Summer’s slumber is mainly explained in the title, but after her current boyfriend breaks up with her and she’s left alone at a medieval festival, she begins a journey of exploring the one kink left on her list: Sleeping beauty. Then at work, the original tour guide gets the flu, and Summer has to be the guide for two guys in the middle of a snow storm. How will this affect her sexual journey? And possibly her love life?

First things first: finally a book that’s in third person. It seems to be a trend to write books in the first person POV, and I’m not the biggest fan of that to be honest. Mostly because I want to read about the characters, not like I’m them, if that makes sense.

This book is in the erotica genre, so heads up for a lot of steamy scenes. Almost porn without plot, well almost. The MC, Summer, is horny. A lot. So the kink, Sleeping beauty, as I’ve read now in this story and while doing some research online, is not the most popular kink. Mainly because of consent. I just want to be clear that Summer wants this, and gives her consent to it, and it is even mentioned a safeword is she doesn’t want to do it anymore. I think it was written really well, and the steamy scenes even made me tingly. The kink itself can be quite tricky, but when talked about it beforehand, and having a safeword, I don’t see why it can’t be played out.

I do wish there was more drive to the story, because I kept looking forward to the steamy scenes more than the adventure part. Also, I put this book down a lot and just skimmed pages, even skipped a few. I did really like the plot twist at the end, although I wish there was a plot twist in the middle or that something would’ve happened.. I guess I got lost in all the description about the trip that I ended up skipping reading the rest of them..

Overall, an easy read steamy book with a dash of romance.
