Summer's Slumber by E. M. Wooley was a quick read. The author was new to me and the book was great escapism. It featured Summer who is working in Colorado at a small ski town. She joins a potential investor and his friend to snowshoe up the mountain to all three cabins when the guide is sick. Both men are attracted to her. The story details Summer's exploration of her sexuality and a sleeping beauty fantasy.

Some may find the storyline to be a bit taboo but everything was consensual. I liked the map included in the book which detailed where everything was located.

CW: explicit sexual language

What a story! I absolutely loved the plot. Regardless of the amount of erotic scenes, the story was great. That being said, this story is one where the reader must go into it with an open mind. If you are one that kink shames or isn’t comfortable reading others kinks, you should not read this. However, it was beautifully done and I look forward to reading more from this author!

I am sorry to say that this book missed the mark for me. I do not mind smut or fetishes, but these particular fetishes made me uncomfortable. Additionally, there were typos and grammar issues. The dialogue was completely unnatural and over the top. I realize it was an attempt to sound “English”, but truly nobody talks like this. I was puzzled by the random love story mixed in with the excessive smut and did not enjoy the juggling/indecisiveness of the partner selection.

I really wanted to like Summer's Slumber, but I could not get into it. There wasn't much plot or character development.

After splitting up with her ex and getting advice from a fortune teller, Summer is on discovery quest to explore what sex-life has to offer, before her next serious relathionship.

Running from her small town life, Summer is getting to know herself while working in a guide tour place in Colorado. When her boss Kera is out sick, Summer gets the opportunity to trek up to the mountain with two hot Brits, one of them being a potential investor in Kera's business.

When a snowstorm strikes, their trip is derailed, but as they say the best things happen unplanned...

Summer's Slumber is an erotic, kinky novel with a plot.
The heroine is working through her list in a journal, which is full of kink in the bedroom, the latest one being the sleeping beauty syndrome. With the help of the two Londoners, she hopes she can check the box next to it.

The main story is spicy and intriguing in its simplicity, the writing is good, the story luring and the romance kinky, so you are looking at an easy and enjoyable read.

I also loved that at the beginning of the book you have a link to see which kinks are mentioned and the map of the place with tagged mentioned places.

New to me author E.M. Wooley delights me with an erotic novel filled with kinky exploration. The story starts out with a heartbroken Summer who made a few jests with her boyfriend and he dumped her. On the advice of a Renaissance Faire fortune teller, Summer embarks on an erotic exploration to find herself. I wasn't sure what this would be like and I'm pleasantly surprised by the story, the erotic scenes, and the happily ever after.

Fast forward a few years and Summer's been spending the last few years expressing her sexual freedom. I thought when she was recommended to find herself, she would figure out what she wants in her life. What I didn't realize is that this was all about her sexuality and determining what she would do sexually. Summer never experiments with other women from what I can tell. She is purely focused on men. Her journal of sorts is a black book diary of her escapades. They are cute, kinky, and filled with roleplaying. Her latest checkbox on her sexual self-actualization is focused on her "Sleeping Beauty" kink otherwise known as somnophilia. Basically, she wants to consensually be taken whilst she is kind of sleeping. Who knew that there is a specific name for this fantasy? Also, who knew that what I agreed to with my spouse on the weekends is basically somnophilia? Learn something every day!

This story is more than just erotica. Summer is actually working for an outdoor adventure company that is pretty cool. Her competency in this comes through and I'm impressed with her logistical skills. Her most recent tour is with potential investment backers for her friend's outdoor adventure company. Quite frankly, the outdoor adventure sounds like so much fun. I would love to try it out. Emery and Troy are the two looking over the outfit and seeing if it rates being invested in. As they say, mixing business and pleasure could be a problem. Summer wrestles with this cardinal rule.

I'm glad she let go of her inhibitions and her cardinal rule. Her sexy romping with Emery and Troy is delicious and a voyeur's delight. I enjoyed every single sexapade and warn readers that it may generate a little bit of "me-time". There are a couple of reveals in the conclusion that wasn't a surprise. I did like the happily ever after and how all conflicts were resolved. This erotic romance is highly recommended to readers who enjoy a little kinky roleplaying.

I don't know what I read. But as the Germans say- Das war ein griff ins klo (That was a grab into the toilet) which is exactly what this book was🙃
It's so bad it makes you question not only your sanity, but also the author's and the people who rated it 4-5 stars.

The FMC's (Summer) whole personality trait is that she's horny. She sees any man and all she wants to do is just take him to bed. That's literally all there is to her personality. She has a ridiculous and creepy fantasy of a man having sex with her while she's asleep cause she's a on "spiritual (sexual) journey." Should've seen that coming when I saw the title🙃

I get that it's an erotica but there needs to be certain boundaries made. There's also no sub plot, it's just Summer going on and on about her fantasy with every man she sees. It's a poorly written work as well. The prologue should've been indication enough for me to stop reading it.

So yes, I DON'T recommend this. Giving it 1 star is me being generous for the sake of the author.

Summer's slumber by E. M. Wooley.
Summer Fellers was determined to truly know herself before she jumped into another destined-to-fail relationship. Coming from a vanilla background in a small town, her journey would take her into a world of taboo sexual exploration.
A good read with an unexpected twist. Which I didn't see coming. 4*.

I didn’t like it or hate it… I just …. There’s nothing good to say about this book. I felt like I was reading a college students journal. It wasn’t well written or very imaginative. I didn’t care for any of the characters either. I hate giving blah reviews, it just makes me sad.

This was the first erotica I've read that's a single story (I generally read short story collections) and I was pleasantly surprised that it was able to keep the sex scene relatively varied despite involving the same three characters and spanning only a short period of time.

While the general idea of the main character's kink (having sex while pretending to be asleep) did not grow on me, it was done in a way that wasn't creepy or gross as I thought it would be.

While the whole storyline was a little hokey, it worked. Not exactly my style, but well written. I'd read more from this author!

This was a very arousing, fun book to read. Summer is searching for something….adventure and fulfilling wild fantasies…before she settles down into a regular relationship. When she unexpectedly ends up leading two guys on a trip through a blizzard, she finds that her goals may have changed.
