okay i absolutely aTE THIS UP!! sophie gonzalez has consistently been one of my favorite ya authors FOR A REASON!! im going through a really bad slump and this book was truly one of the first ive fully enjoyed and connected with while going through a slump. i loved the enemies to lovers aspect of this and it was handled so well, the plot itself was original and funny, i had such a good time, and the ending was simply the cherry on top. all in all, an amazing ya romcom and honestly i expected nothing else from this author

This was so enjoyable! John Tucker Must Die x The Bachelor but make it sapphic. I was constantly laughing out loud but the last third had me champing at the bit for the girlies to get their revenge against the most infuriating ex-boyfriend. I was 80% satisfied by how it all went down but maybe I'm just super jaded.
Sometimes it was difficult to differentiate between the two FMCs POVs. I was going to say the audiobook could've benefited from a dual narration but upon checking the credits, it was?? The narrator for Maya and her delivery, particularly her disgust towards Jordy, were fabulous but I thought she was just doing a more subdued voice for Skye. Maybe it was the characters themselves that could have used more development.

I loved reading this book. It was a lot of fun. The plot was great, the characters were lovable, and I couldn’t put it down!! Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC! 🫶🏻✨

i loved maya and skye. jordy was the worst. i love the concept but i kept getting confused about how it’s a YA book

This was an interesting read. I think it might have read better if the characters were a little older as they were college aged and on a show with Bachelor vibes. I do love a good enemies to lovers though and this didn’t disappoint.

This was such a fun, light-hearted, girl-power read. I love the bi representation within a TV reality dating show environment. My only drawback is that I wish this hadn’t been YA, as I think the storyline would’ve worked better with adult characters. However, it was still a great book that left me fired up in the best way possible!

I’m a Swiftie, obviously, and also a sucker for a dating reality show backdrop with a twist (Charmed Offensive is forever a favorite of mine). This was fun, fast-paced, and overall well-written. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advanced copy of this story in exchange for an honest review. I am currently working through my ARC backlog and will be posting full reviews momentarily for books that have been completed!

Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie G is a charming and relatable romance that kept me hooked from start to finish. The characters are well-written, with great chemistry, and the book captures the messy, complicated nature of relationships in a way that feels real and refreshing.
The humor and emotional moments are balanced perfectly, and I found myself laughing and rooting for the characters throughout. While the story is predictable at times, it’s still a heartwarming and fun read that I’d recommend to anyone who loves a good rom-com. Definitely worth picking up for a feel-good escape.

I could not get past the first few pages unfortunately! This was way more YA than it sounded like and the opening scene gave me the ick. The main characters are like 18??? This one was just not for me.

Reality TV dating show? Check! Second-chance romance? Check! Fun queer twist? Check! It’s funny, full of drama, and a fun read for sure.

A hilarious, queer twist on second-chance romance wrapped inside a reality TV dating show. It’s sharp, funny, and full of delicious drama. Perfect for fans of fake dating, enemies-to-lovers, and messy, swoony fun.

I really wanted to like Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales because the whole exes-on-a-reality-show idea sounded messy and fun, but honestly, it just didn’t hold my attention. The pacing dragged, the drama didn’t hit like I expected, and I found myself losing interest pretty quickly. I think some people might enjoy the humor and the unique setup, but for me, it just wasn’t giving what it needed to give.

3.5 stars. This has a reality show setting. The main male character, who has become famous by being royal-adjacent, invites several ex-girlfriends to participate. The prize at the end of the show? A second chance. Two of the girls started out hating each other because he cheated on each of them with the other. They end up having to room together during the taping of the show and, as they get to know one another better, they decided to team up. Instead of a second chance with him, though, they want to take him down. This was a bit of a silly, unrealistic premise, of course, but it turned out to be fun. I LOL’d several times. I loved the snark and sarcasm, the shenanigans, the LGBTQ+ rep, and the funny situations that the characters found themselves in. My biggest problem with this book is that the characters are super young-just barely out of high school-and that felt weird. It wasn't marketed in my store as YA as far as I know, but maybe that was it's intended audience. The characters were in fairly adult situations, though, so maybe new adult is the right category. Given the storyline, it read like adult, and I was only reminded of their age when it was explicitly mentioned.

we all know the typical love triangle which is not really a triangle because its just the guy liking two different girls who don't like each other in a romantic way right? okay now imagine we take that and eliminate the guy cause he's the biggest asshole; we are left with two girls who are kinda enemies kinda rivals but end up falling in love with each other.
that was the weirdest description ive ever made about a book but i do hope you understood the vibe :D
(got this book after sophie announced on her insta that the book was available for a limited amount of time on Netgalley, so many thanks to her <3)
i liked this book very much. firstly because the trope is honestly quite original and ive always wanted to read something like this. secondly, its SAPPHICS PLEASE we need more bi and lesbian representation in books. the setting was really funny bc the show in which the characters are participating -called "second-chance romance "- is just straight up making up every single thing that happens on and out of set. i watch a lot of shitty tv programmes like that and i found it super eye opening, just reading how jordy literally lied to every single girl on that show to make himself look good i swear...a true pathological liar.
the characters unfortunately i couldnt totally connect with from the very beginning, and in the very end too i felt like something was missing. i really fancy reading about the thought process and emotional hurricane inside people before bigger actions really happen, and i feel like in some moments i couldnt get that from maya and skye in this story. i dont know if it's the writing process of the author, which is completely fine and other people might find better than okay, or if im really just a very intense bish who loves feelings. however, it wasnt that big of a deal because i did enjoy both maya's and skye's journey throughout the book, and i grew up really fond of them. they are quite the opposite to one another: one impulsive and the other an overthinker, one more open to feel and the other very closed uo; but that also was an important part of their growth as people.
oh mama that ENDING and the lesson it gives you. i really really loved how the main issue was dealt with and how it shows that even when we so thoroughly prepare something for such a long time it will not always go the way we want it to. i loved how they didnt give jordy a redemption arc at ALL, he didnt deserve it that bish.
had a great time reading the book and im totally going to support sophie from now on. really eexcited to read more of her books. definitely recommend this one if you wanna have a cute entertaining and light hearted read this summer.

I’m not usually super into YA romance, but this was cute! I also do watch a fair few dating shows, so I always love a book featuring one.
I do think the story could’ve been a bit more flushed out, but overall I had a good time!

A really fun, sweet and cute romance! I thought this was a really fun take on the reality show trope. Filled with heart and also funny! I read it SO fast, fully engaged.

This one was so fun! It was like if a reality dating show met John Tucker Must Die Loved the dual POV, the reality show plotline and behind the scenes details (since the bachelor shows are my guilty pleasure) and the girls on the show. My biggest issue with the story was the age of the characters- I just had a hard time taking a dating show seriously when they're all 18 years old, but I guess it works for a YA audience. Overall a fun, enjoyable read

This book was charming and so fun! I loved the reality show setting although I generally find a dating show setting for a teen novel a little odd. Nevertheless, I liked the romance and the characters and would recommend this novel.

Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales is a perfect example of a queer romance done right. It follows many common tropes of the genre while being unique, challenging, and wonderfully charming. I'll read pretty much anything she writes in the future. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this review copy!
