This book was pretty good I don't want to give a bad review I feel like i need to reread and I was possibly just in a reading slump

I really enjoyed this book even though I got the vibe this could have been a middle school read instead of truly YA. Not that there is anything wrong with middle school, I just don't feel inclined to read many, if any at all. I feel that Ezekiola and his friends proved that friendships can be as strong and precious as we all hope they can be. I also really enjoyed the magic system that this book has and how it's very unique from most things that I have read. If you want an easy magic world book to read, this might be the book for you.

Ezekiola and the Emerald Belt is a delightful and intriguing read which keeps me turning pages. The world- and character-building ignited my imagination, always leaving me wanting more with each chapter. This book also breaks new ground by teasing advanced concepts and subject matter, pushing the genre into sorely-needed new areas, which satisfied my mind and soul. Thank you, Lucy Kyan, for bringing this into the world.

Ezekiola is a 17 year old boy from a world called Circa. He is on the verge of receiving a belt based on his skills at which point he would then join that group and be bound to that brotherhood. He is a mind reader so he should be receiving a blue belt and, of course, he definitely won’t be an emerald belt. The Emerald belts are a warrior clan brotherhood and no one had received an emerald belt in 10 years. Also, several of the emerald belt warriors had recently gone missing creating quite the mystery.

While everyone at the ceremony impatiently waited for it to begin, it was delayed because the Headmaster was late. Unknown to all of those waiting, the Headmaster was in discussions with other leaders regarding something sinister happening behind the scenes. This situation would impact Ezekiola in ways he could never imagine. The ceremony was about to change his life, and his life path, forever. After the ceremony Ezekiola went to speak with his headmaster about what he assumed was a mistake. On his way there he found a rotating door that hadn’t been there before. Like a magnet, the door beckoned to him and called him forth through it. On the other side he found himself transported to a schoolroom he didn’t recognize in front of a girl he’d never met. The girl’s name was Leanne. He immediately felt a connection to Leanne but within minutes, he was transported back to his world. He would feel this connection again during one of his classes as he felt his power growing stronger. Meanwhile, in Leanne’s world, strange occurrences kept happening to her. Somehow she feels a connection to Ezekiola and these strange occurrences. How were the two of them connected and why were these things happening to her?

This book is an engaging fantasy read combing magic, mystery, science, romance and adventure. I have really enjoyed this book. While it is not a book I would normally seek out, I am glad to have read it. The author intertwined multiple worlds to create a compelling story. I look forward to reading it to my preteen girls during our nightly family reading.

This book is such a fun read. It’s a story of a Teenage Boy name Ezekiola who gets the Emerald Belts and this Belt brings you to a different portal to another planet. So Ezekiola meets Leanna the young lady in the other world. Ezekiola will discover something to his self why this is happening and why they always keep meeting each other it’s like they are meant to be “Destiny”.

I also love the strong friendship in this book.

This is Lucy’s first novel and it’s good. Her novel is well written and I liked that she used her knowledge and background in the book I can tell that she put a lot of passion into it. I highly recommend this book who are looking for mythology, stars, and a sprinkle of romance. I’m looking forward to reading your next novel.

Going into this, I wasn’t quite sure if this was going to be something I would love, and wow, was I WRONG.
This was such a fun read! I loved Ezekiola’s character so much.

This was INCREDIBLE. The world building and Lucy’s way of telling a story was phenomenal. You can just tell she was so passionate about this project and she cared so deeply for this story.

I was hooked by the first few pages and I so desperately want another book.

This was unlike anything I’ve ever read before and for me, that was so refreshing.

Thank you to Net Galley and Lucy Kyan for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Ezekiola and the Emerald Belt is a YA fantasy-adventure book and it exceeded my expectations. I loved this book and I can’t believe that it’s Lucy Kyan’s debut novel. I quite enjoyed her writing style and the pace throughout the book. If you’re looking for a YA fantasy book with an original plot and world building, I think that you will enjoy this book.

I believe that this is a good book and it was well written, but it just wasn't my style. The worldbuilding and charecters were well done, and that you should give it a try, especially if you enjoy fantasy stories.

Ezekiola and the Emerald Belt : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 shining stars

This is a book unlike anything I’ve read before. Here’s what it’s got going for it:

✨ Unique magic system
✨ In-depth world building
✨ Close-knit group of friends (& great banter)
✨ Plot Twists!!!

My favorite chapter was 23—the action-packed sequences were well done and a great climax of the high stakes.

In my opinion, although this book was labeled as YA, to me it read more like a middle-grade book. It was just so easy to follow along and the academy setting reminded me of the good times I spent with my friend group in middle school.

My question to Lucy Kyan—when will there be a book 2??? 😁

This book was nothing like I imagined it to be but at the same time it was very good, I felt connected to the characters and rooted for them, I think this is a very clever book for a trope that has been done before in many different ways but what I most loved about it were the characters which made the book amazing.

Wow! I am a fan of Lucy Kyan!
This book is amazing – well-written, captivating and so filled with symbolism and spiritual principles. I couldn’t put it down. It is one of those books that make you forget everything around you. It reminds me of “Lord of the Rings” and “Harry Potter” and it definitely has the potential of becoming a bestseller and a classic.
Truly a wonderful book, which I highly recommend for all age groups – a must read for people who like fantasy books and for all with spiritual interests.

I enjoyed Ezekiola and the Emerald Belt far more than I thought I would. I liked the world building, I liked the characters, the plot, and enjoyed reading about the different planets and the evil circulating them. I think this book might be a new “comfort” read for me and I see myself returning to read it multiple times in the future.

Fantastical, captivating and mystical!

I DEVOURED this book! I actually had to hold myself back from reading it too fast, I didn't want it to end. This was such a refreshing read, perfectly paced, and unlike anything I've read in a while. There's something deep about this book, it's almost a new genre in itself. It has excellent worldbuilding, I loved the storyline, the entire cast of characters, (yes ALL of them), loved the originality of the names, the humour, and at times, I had goosebumps for there's a mystical feel to this book. I enjoyed the connection between Leanne and Ezekiola and what's nice about their romance is that it doesn't overhelem the story.

It's one of those rare books where the story lingers with you for a while after you read it.

Can’t wait for the sequel.

Definitely a must read, I highly recommend it! Perfect for all ages.
