Sam and Dana meet one day and have an instant attraction! It's love at first sight. Everything is going perfect until Dana meets Sam's family. They are very wealthy and she feels very intimidated at first. After their quick engagement happens, a lot of bad things start to happen to Dana. She experiences all sorts of accidents that she believes are being caused by her mother-in-law, Evelyn. Why would Evelyn not want her son to marry Dana, or is there someone else causing these unfortunate events?

Wow what wild ride!! There was a lot going on here and I had a hard time putting this one down. It had a bunch a of twists that I did not expect and I was definitely not disappointed. If you're looking for an engaging read, I highly recommend picking up a copy of THE MOTHER-IN-LAW. It was a page-turner.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC in exchange for my honest review.

First of all, thanks to Bookotoure, NetGalley and Karen King for giving me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

It’s natural that you notice the cover first. And boy did I notice the cover. The cake, the font, it all stood out to me. But it should have neben 🍋. Iykyk. But all in all I find it very well done and it definitely grabs your attention.

The first thing that comes to my mind, after reading, is…. Thank the heavens that I have a great mother-in-law! 😂
But nothing is as obvious as it seems. We get a twist at the very end. My advice for this book, don’t trust anyone.

I found Dana to be the typical heroine. Shy, introverted, a selected number of friends, deceased parents. Then she meets Mr Right, Sam. There is nothing wrong with this plot line, it’s one I secretly enjoy. I think most people could relate to Dana. Their relationship is a whirlwind, wedding bells are ringing very fast. It’s a dream come true until we meet the in-laws, or rather Evelyn. At first it seems to be all right, but Dana has a feeling of unease.
“Mum means well; she’s just trying to make you feel welcome,” he murmured…. I can really really understand Dana’s unease at points.

The characters were all ok, could have more depth. It was all a tad stereotypical. But in this case, I really did not mind. I got the read that I expected and don’t mean that in a bad way.

The book so filled with a bit of (petty) drama here and there. All in all this was a light read, a popcorn thriller, and I use the worts thriller very lightly.

Delicious…
Dana has it made. She is madly in love with Sam, following a veritable whirlwind of a romance, and he with her. When he asks her to marry him she is beyond delighted. Sam’s wealthy parents ask her to move into the Manor House. Dana is less than keen. When circumstances conspire, Dana does move in and then things begin to take a dramatically downward spiral. Is someone trying to kill Dana? If so, who and why? Wholly entertaining and tremendously enjoyable. Characters are well crafted and credible and the plot is suspenseful but fun. Repetition in the narrative may be frequent but certainly does not deter from any enjoyment. A read to be devoured in one delicious sitting.

This is just the type of book I like to read. Deception, lies, and a mystery. Enter one young woman, Dana, who quickly falls in love with affluent Sam. He still lives at home with parents Harold and Evelyn. The mother doesn’t seem to pleased about the quick evolution of their relationship and Dana seems to be prone to many calamities.
But who is really out to get Dana? Why? And who is Tamara.
Read The Mother-in-Law and gather the answers yourself. You just might be surprised.
