Although the premise seemed to be a copy of now multiple others like it, I did enjoy the story for the most part. Although the "mystery" was easily determined very early on, I still appreciated the characters' voices and their interactions. I also appreciated the social commentary that is not always included a novel like this one. Overall, I enjoyed the book, despite its similarities to other novels and its predictability.

I absolutely love podcast books and this one was no exception! I loved that more mysteries were unraveled over the course of the story.

This book was amazing. I literally sat and read it in about 5/6 hours because I could not put it down!! I recommend it to my book friends as their next read because it is not getting the hype it needs!!

Amazing characters drive this storyline in all the right directions! Cam and Blair are complete opposites yet they balance each other perfectly. It's no wonder their podcast is an amazing success. But the success may endanger their safety due to people in the community not wanting their secrets exposed.

The story line is gripping, fast-paced and unique. The podcast is about Clarissa's disappearance and it is a story within a story. As they find out more about Clarissa their real feelings and intentions for their futures come to light. The dual storylines are extremely well conceived and flow together perfectly. This young adult/teen mystery had just the right amount of suspense to keep me invested and quickly turning the pages.

I truly enjoyed cam and Blair's podcast and I hope they find a reason to make more in the future because I would love to read more about them and their sluthing adventures! I look forward to reading more Ripley Jones books in the future!

A well-paced true crime YA thriller. I was completely wrapped up in Blair and Cameron's attempts to solve a twenty-year old case of a missing cheerleader from their school. These characters were perfect for the story, A few of the flashback plot points bogged me down, but overall this was an enjoyable read.

Missing Clarissa is a YA mystery novel that'll keep you glued to its pages from start to finish. Cam and Blair's characters are brilliantly crafted, and their friendship is both sweet and entertaining. Cam is a go-getter, while Blair's superpower is her ability to charm and schmooze information out of everyone.
The author's smart move to tell the story from the girls' perspective was spot-on, immersing the reader in the story and making us feel like we're part of their investigation. The girls' thorough research, including interviews with everyone from the local sheriff to Clarissa's family and friends, makes the story feel real and authentic.
The plot keeps you on the edge of your seat with its suspense and unexpected twists, but things get a bit muddled when Cam's love interest comes into the picture. Nevertheless, Missing Clarissa is a fun and engaging read, with a fresh take on the true crime genre. Kudos to Wednesday Books for giving us a gripping page-turner. Can't wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

It turns out I’m always a fan of a YA book with a podcast element, especially as an audiobook and this one did not disappoint! Two high schoolers investigate the case of a missing girl and start a podcast to share the details. Clarissa went missing in 1999 and the case went cold. Although I guessed the ending pretty early I still really enjoyed this one.

I would give Missing Clarissa by Ripley Jones a 2.5 star review because the concept I though was good but actually reading it seemed kinda weird to me. .

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read that held my attention. Loved the pace of the story and the plot twists along the way!

This was unfortunately not for me. I was very interested in the premise, but found the execution underwhelming, especially in comparison to some other mysteries I've read. I love true crime, and after seeing this compared to Sadie I was very excited to dive in! Unfortunately, it didn't hold my interest. It felt quite young, even for a YA novel.

In 1999, Clarissa was last seen at a high school party in the woods but disappeared without a trace. Now Blair and Cameron are trying to find out what happened and documenting their process on a podcast for their journalism class.

This was a fast, page-turning read! I ended up reading Missing Clarissa in two days because I had to find out how it was going to end! I think it could have benefited from a few more chapters where Blair and Cameron are still trying to figure out who is responsible. It felt like they figured it out too quickly and could benefit from some more wrong turns before they find the answer, but I also may have just wanted the book to last longer. Overall, this was a solid YA thriller.

This was a solid YA mystery with a well-thought out plot and dynamic characters and relationships. I would also say the red herring, which is fairly obvious in my mind, is probably actually perfect for this age range of readers.
What I enjoyed most about this book was more the coming-of-age aspect. The main characters are best friends. One of them is confident and sure of her future with a supportive mom. The other is floundering with a disconnected family and an emotionally manipulative boyfriend. Her story of growth throughout this book; finding out what she enjoys and believing in herself as a writer and storyteller was done so well. I loved it.

I really enjoyed Missing Clarissa by Ripley Jones. This was a quick, fun YA thriller with interesting characters. I ended up listening to the audiobook which added another layer to the story. The characters Blair and Cameron are creating a podcast for a class project about a missing local girl. The audio provided additional voices for the podcast and a different audio sound. The characters were well developed with interesting and distinct personalities. While the mystery itself was fairly predictable, that didn't take away from my ability to enjoy the story. I highly recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys YA, thrillers, or just needs a fun quick read.

I received this book as an ARC a while ago and didn't get to it. I put it on my list for Arctober and finished it in 2 days. Because it has been out awhile, I was able to listen to a bit of the audiobook so I can tell you that both the book and the audiobook are awesome. So, actually, it helped you. See, so really I did it for y'all! I did it for the review. 🤣🤣 Anyway, the narrator did a great job! IMO, she added to the story. This book reminded me of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. If you liked that book, I'd check it out!

Blair and Cam were typical high school best friends. They were 17 year old girls. Keep in mind this is a YA novel and won't be a complex who-dun-it thriller. I enjoyed the storyline and hearing the music for the podcast in the audiobook. That was pretty neat. I wasn't a fan of Blair calling her mom my her first name (Irene). I must have missed why she did this rather than calling her mom.

I liked that they were doing this research for a class, not just because they were nosey kids. It gave the story depth.

This was a fun to read YA thriller. I enjoyed the podcast theme with the Nancy Drew feel of the story. Highly recommend to all ages.

I love a good thriller, and I especially love a good thriller that has a mixed media element of some sort. So, Missing Clarissa was already shaping up to be an exciting book for me. I read it in less than 24 hours and loved how each chapter ended with a clip from Blair and Cameron’s podcast assignment. By the end of the book though, I felt as though the whole disappearance/murder was figured out too easily - the person behind everything was too obvious. As soon as this person was introduced to the book, I thought to myself: “I wouldn’t be surprised if they did it.” And I was right. There was some important social commentary sprinkled throughout the book that added to its depth, but the storyline led up to a predictable twist that I guessed from a mile away, which was sort of a bummer and affected my overall feelings on the plot and characters in this young adult thriller.

This was an okay read for me. I went in expecting A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and while Missing Clarissa definitely has some similar vibes to that, it didn’t quite meet the mark.

One of our MCs, Cam, felt immature, and I had trouble following her thoughts on occasion. The suspense element was fine, but I felt it could have been a bit more fleshed out. Basically, the premise was great and executed fine, but I wanted a bit more.
