Parts of the plot and character development seemed rushed and the storyline was predictable. As a first time reader of this author, I wasn’t sure what to expect but overall I enjoyed the book and plan on reading more from this author in the future.

This was a cute shorter read and I do love me some bikers. That being said it was very short and kinda typical.

Badass Biker by Lily Harlem is the First book in the Dirty Bikers Series. This is the story of Carter Harris and Leah White. Leah is a straitlaced lawyer whose father is the town's mayor. Carter has grown up in the Devil’s Barbarians MC. These two should be attracted to one another but they can't help but do so. Enjoyed this book.

Badass Biker is the first book in a new "MC" series by author Lily Harlem.

Carter is a part of an MC that comes to Leah's town of Pierce every year for some sort of gathering of a bunch of different MCs. The concept isn't very well explained. I can't figure out/remember if they were all from the same club but different chapters, or different clubs. Like I said, I was very confused. It's not explained what they are there other than to cause trouble and problems for the town. And that is how Carter and Leah meets. Carter is on trial for defending his brother's in a fight. Leah is an attorney who specializes in criminal cases and she pushes her apprentice, Willow to take over the case. Carter falls for Leah instantly (or rather, his penis does) and is determined to make her "his."

I did enjoy the family aspect of this book, but I seriously missed the dark, gritty "MC" world. I would read more from this author.

That was a nice, quick, biker romance. It was your usual recipe of prim and proper girl meets big bad biker and they fall in love. But it was still a fun book. The writing wasn't anything special, but it also didn't annoy me like some other people's writing has. I'm giving this book three stars.

I was offered this book in exchange for an honest review on NetGalley.

Leah lives in a conservative small town where her father is the mayor. She is a Harvard-educated criminal lawyer, an independent woman with her life put together. Carter is a senior member of a motorcycle club. He’s doing shady deals every day and has a life filled with debauchery and fighting. Or so it looks from the outside. Although it doesn’t really help his case that he meets Leah while he’s on trial.

There is a chemistry between them that is hard to ignore. And despite Leah’s best efforts, Carter is very persistent. When Leah is going away on a beach holiday her car mysteriously breaks down and the only nearby transportation available is Carter’s motorcycle. So off she goes riding into the sunset on the back of his Harley.

While on holiday their romance unfolds and the chemistry between them is insane. I loved the romance part of the story. Plus, there is some serious spice in this book!

What I didn’t like is that we didn’t see much of them as individuals. I would have loved to see Leah in court, in her own element. While the MC club is a very important part of Carter’s life, we don’t get that much insight into his role in the club or his relationships with his club brothers.
The found family aspect of a MC club seemed missing. I would have loved to see Carter introduce Leah to the club, explaining their bond and what they mean to one another. Instead, all the club scenes were negative and chaotic and left me disliking his mother and several club members.

This was a fun, quick and easy read and you can honestly never go wrong with a good mc book every once in awhile.

It was interesting, but the writing style was to my liking. The characters felt too stereotypical but I will try more from this author in the future.

The thing I hated about this book was that it had to end. The best way to describe this book is that it’s a wild ride. One minute I was laughing out loud and the next minute I was on the edge of my seat. Really great stuff.

Good girl. Bad boy. A formula for success...most of the time. Carter falls for Leah instantly (or rather, his penis does) and is determined to make her "his."

My problem with "Badass Biker" is the way it misses all the key aspects that make motorcycle romances one of my favorite genres.

1. The found family aspect. Just because you have a tattoo dedicated to your club doesn't show me that you care about them. He spends a lot of time away from his compound and we never get to see him interact with his brothers. They probably do later in the story, but I was so bored I couldn't wait any longer. Also his mother? The way she suggests that he find someone to fall for him so they can use her? And I'm supposed to like her? I let it go the first time but when she brought it up a second time, I could just see the drama coming.

2. The danger/adventure. A big part of MC romances is the way the hero is protective over the heroine due to an outside force. What outside force did he have to protect her from? They take a casual trip to Mexico to smuggle fake passports that had no risk to it. Not to mention in the first chapter, Carter is the one that suggests to Leah to close the Mexican borders to her town.

The smut was good but the characters and storyline was bland and did not keep me engaged.

Can I just communicate how much I want my own Carter? Because I do. Right here, right now, asap, I don't know what else to say other than I wish he was pulling up to my front door right in this second. Ok, now that I have that out of my system I'm ready to write this review.

This is a fast-burn romance that includes enough smoking hot hotness that it should include a fire extinguisher. The chemistry between Leah and Carter is felt in the first chapter and only gets better from that point on. The two meet in the courtroom with Carter on trial for getting caught in a fight between his club and another motorcycle club and Leah is attending to support Willow who is Carter's lawyer. Leah catches Carter's eye which begins their twisty, turn-y journey. If you can't already tell, the book's characters are basically opposites but oh, how they attract! And when Leah decides to go on an impromptu vacation (though I feel weird saying that because she still worked during it), things take off. But not without Carter pulling some sketchy moves that had me wanting to slap him into tomorrow. But apparently, violence is unbecoming. Also, he's a fictional character so I'm up against that obstacle, but tomayto tomahto.

Anyways, this vacation ends up being not what Leah wanted but needed because she is able to relax and let her inner-self out with the help of Carter. They even go on a date to Tijuana for tacos, and some suspicious stuff happens during it but as Carter gracefully put it, "What you don't know can't hurt you". Now, I believe in the philosophy that the unknown can definitely hurt you but I'll make an expectation for Carter. Other than this trip though they share more cute moments with Carter teaching Leah how to surf, all of sex-wait that wasn't cute. It was hot, sexy, steamy, oh my. The sex was something, there is a scene on page 406 that'll make your jaw DROP. But I digress because the best way to experience those scenes is going in blind.

As mentioned previously, this book does have characters in a motorcycle club but the book doesn't focus much on it. It focuses more on Leah and Carter and their relationship. I honestly recommend this book to anyone who wants to read an opposites attract book where the characters are *chefs kisses*.

This book lives up to the title! Great character development, a strong plot, lots of action and suspense. A page turner I couldn't put down!

A first time author for me and I didn’t know what to expect but I actually really enjoyed this book!!

Really light on the MC theme, the main crux of this was the love story between Carter and Leah. That’s not to say there wasn’t some MC shenanigans but this was actually mainly contained to the latter part of the book.

Heat rating : super hot, this author does not go gently into her steamy scenes so be warned.

An overall fun read with an MC world and characters I’m excited to read more of
