Not really mind blowing compared to all the other self help books I've read in 2023 but gets the job done reliably so I guess that's enough?

I really enjoyed this insightful and thought provoking book. It does cover some heavy topics including abuse, eating disorders, rape, depression, sexual exploitation and child pornography
though, so please be aware of these triggers before diving in.

"Bright Mind, Happy Heart, Best Life" is split into four parts, with a range of interactive questions and practises to get stuck into throughout, which are clearly explained and easy to follow, so it's very enjoyable and gives you further insight into your own thinking and how you're feeling, which I found so much fun, as someone who loves learning more about myself and my weird and overly complicated thought processes. The book's content is also backed up with some truly remarkable sources of knowledge and experiences, so you're definitely in safe hands here. I particularly enjoyed how Deanna included parts of her own journey into this, and those of the people she's coached, it made it all feel more personal and achievable.

This was just such an incredibly thought-provoking, interactive and intimate exploration of how simple but powerful techniques can really help you get out of your own head and your own way, and heal from past traumas and pain.

I'm a big fan of this type of books. I find them relaxing and that they help me remember some basic self-help strategies and truths that I can sometimes ignore in my day to day life. This is a great book to keep on your bedside table and read a little bit every night.

This one was just okay to me. I had a hard time getting into it, and I don't feel like the author ever really made their point. Not the worst, but not great either.

Bright mind, happy heart, best life by Deanna LoTerzo is like having your own personal life coach in your bedroom helping your discovery how to put the tools you need to move forward in life. This was one of my favorite books to read this year. It talks about the power of words. She shares her own experience in life and how you can apply those topics/ situations into your own life.

Did you know you don’t need to be defined by your failures, fears, and self-defeating behaviors? There’s hope for a brighter future where happiness, dreams, and fulfillment are the norm. Deanna LoTerzo shares her own personal transformation from crippled by many forms of abuse and a scary wake-up call to an empowered human being full of vibrancy and strength. Using science to back up her techniques, she’ll show you the correct steps to take back control, recover from depression and hopelessness, rise above forces wanting to pull you down, and become the person you were meant to be all along. She also gives examples from people just like you and me who were desperate for a way out of the swirling despair. Are you ready for your transformation?

Bright Mind, Happy Heart, Best Life is a life-altering revelation in the realm of personal growth and self-help. While I personally don’t care for the term self-help, I believe anyone looking for direction, a life coach, or relief from a feeling of despair, etc. will find the strength to make changes to their life through reading this book. What makes Bright Mind, Happy Heart, Best Life better than all the rest is the science behind the steps and techniques. Deanna LoTerzo has spent many years researching, studying, and proving her theories so it’s sound facts behind her process. The writing is approachable, honest, and laid out in easy-to-understand language. Each chapter builds upon the next like an interactive workshop in book format. This book is for anyone who’s experienced abuse, illness, mental health, and inner demons. I can’t recommend this book enough. Run, don’t walk, and purchase your copy to start your own personal transformation.

Disclaimer: I received a copy from the author in the hopes I'd review it. My thoughts are all my own.

Bright Mind, Happy Heart, Best Life is a self help book aiming to tease you out of negative emotions, behaviours and thoughts. The exercises are standard using mindfulness, positive psychology and neuroscience but I have seen them all before in other books. The book is quite heavy, and encourages you to dig up issues and delve into problems trying to work through emotions and feelings. While this may be useful to some people I prefer the Abraham Hicks Approach of just focusing on the good place you want to be. There is so much information, scientific references and studies, case studies and lots of details of the authors own problematic life, that I found myself switching off. The author has put a lot of work into the book and is obviously very knowledgeable. While this book was not for me I realise there will be lots of people out there who it will really help.

Bright Mind, Happy Heart, Best Life uses mindfulness, science and psychology with stories and examples to present different ways to live a happier life. The suggested exercises in the book look promising, but also familiar to things I have heard or read before. Fans of Deanna LoTerzo will most likely appreciate this book. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
