When Flora gets broken up with and gets fired from her job within the span of a few days, Christmas obsessed Flora isn’t sure what she is going to do until her best friend Livvie persuades her to live her life like a real life hallmark Christmas movie. Flora takes her advice and decides to follow her dream of moving to Lapland and living the van life and set up a mobile Christmas shop in a massive Christmas market with other van lifers. She quickly makes friends, and a nemesis and even manages to find time for romance with the grumpy guy who runs the marketplace. I am a sucker for a grump and sunshine trope and this filled the bill!
Although I don’t think I could live the van life, the market sounds fabulous and Flora was so much fun! I haven’t read the other books in the series but I will go back at some point and read them.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

Flora’s Travelling Christmas Shop by Rebecca Raisin is a story full of Christmas spirit. Flora loves everything about Christmas. She has Christmas clothing, purses, shoes, and pajamas (I want the jammies). When Flora is at her lowest, her best friend brainstorms with her to come up with the perfect job. It also solves Flora’s living situation. She suggests Flora have a travelling Christmas shop. Before you can say jingle bells, Flora is off to Sweden to buy a camper van. She then heads to Lapland to pick up her stock and join the Christmas market. Flora’s new life gets off to a bumpy start. The one person Flora hoped to never see again happens to be in charge of the Christmas market. Will Flora’s story have a happy ending like the holiday Hallmark movies that she loves? Flora has an over-the-top personality. She says what she thinks, dresses creatively, has a tendency to find herself in awkward situations, and she is very focused on Christmas. Flora is kind, compassionate, amusing, spirited, and totally unpredictable. There is humor all throughout the story. I am just amazed at the situations Flora gets herself into. The story is chockfull of all things Christmas related. Christmas trees, ornaments, hot cocoa, wreaths, snow, and so much more. Connor (aka the Viking God) is the exact opposite of Flora. He is a by the rules type of person. He is ecofriendly (a little over-the-top about it) and lacking in the humor department. Connor and Flora clash from the moment they meet (they have a humorous meet cute). I loved the descriptions of Lapland. I could understand why Flora was in awe the first time she witnesses the aurora borealis. It was interesting learning about the camper van shop community. I did feel that some of the repetition could have been eliminated along with the long phone calls between Flora and her bestie, Livvie (they went on for pages). There is mild foul language in the book. If you like to watch romantic comedies, then you will enjoy Flora’s Travelling Christmas Shop. Flora’s Travelling Christmas Shop is a charming Christmas tale with work woes, seasonal nightclothes, Reindeer name requests, a giant gingerbread house, a hot spot in the sauna, and a cheerful Christmas.

I really wanted to enjoy this book but I found the storyline very difficult to get interested in and the characters to be lacking any depth

After losing another future husband, and yet another job (because of yet another 'misunderstanding' that couldn't possibly have anything to do with her), Flora, our Christmas obsessed leading lady, decides she needs to star in her own Hallmark Christmas movie to turn her life around. She somehow gets enough money to buy a camper van in cash and sell Christmas stuff at a camper van Christmas shop thing that's totally normal apparently (I really can't picture everyone selling stuff inside their vans that are also their homes? With a kitchen? And bed? Right next to their product?) When she arrives she makes some friends and "mean girl" enemies and meets "Norse God" Connor (seriously, it's all she can say about him, I have no knowledge of his actual character traits past this) who's a big Christmas grump and definitely her Hallmark movie leading man.

Unfortunately, Flora really bothered me and everything ended up feeling surface level to me. She fluttered around sort of acting like she was doing everything while being selfless and thinking only of others, but really she was always ignoring someone ELSE in their process (at one point another vendor takes her sledding and very clearly tells her that she is not to pet the dogs because they are working, so of course she immediately does the moment he's not looking. We're supposed to think "aw cute quirky Flora she knows that lil doggo just wants some love!" But really it's like, that's a rule for a reason why are you so annoying stop it) I honestly don't know what Connor was thinking wanting anything to do with her or ever going along with her weird plots to get him to love Christmas and eventually love her? Somehow??

I'm as much a fan of cheesy Christmas stories and Hallmark movies as the next guy, but this one just sadly missed the mark for me. The writing style felt juvenile and I just didn't connect with anyone much at all.

Flora's Travelling Christmas Shop was a delightful light Christmas rom com. Christmas's biggest fan Flora has trouble holding down a job and is still looking for her place in the world. She decides to take a risk and join the Van Lifers movement to sell Christmas items out of a van at "Santa's true home," Lapland. She meets grumpy Connor along the way and is determined to bring joy to his life by helping him find and believe in the spirit of Christmas.

I loved this sweet story! The characters were great. Flora has massive chaos energy, but she is so charming and really cares about other people. I didn't feel like we got to know Connor very well, but he was a good quiet, organized, stoic opposite for Flora's chaos. The author did a great job of hinting at how Connor was falling for Flora without Connor saying a word. The secondary characters were all great, but it would have been nice to get to know them a bit more as well. I loved the grandparently couple Hanne and Juho!

Connor and Flora's relationship is sweet and a VERY slow burn, but when they finally admit their feelings for each other it is so worth it! It had that big emotional moment that I've been missing in my rom coms lately.

I also found the comparisons to Hallmark movies amusing. As you progress through the story, both Flora's inner monologue and her conversations with her best friend reveal where you are at in the plot by comparing Flora's life to the blueprint of a Hallmark movie. I don't know how others may feel about that but I thought it was entertaining.

Overall I would highly recommend this book if you love sweet Christmas rom coms, grumpy/sunshine, sort-of enemies to lovers, and chaotic FMCs just trying to get their lives together and find where they belong. It has great Christmas atmosphere and a satisfying ending.

2.5 Stars - rounded down because the Christmas Shop DOES NOT TRAVEL.

Flora is a hot mess without a job, a boyfriend or a free place to stay. She's overly obsessed with Christmas all year long. Seriously one of her deal-breaker first date questions is to name Santa's reindeer. So she decides to buy a van and sell cheap Christmas trinkets at a market in Lapland.

Flora's BFF keeps telling Flora that she's is overly kind-hearted and speaks up for others and that's why she loses so many jobs and beaus. I think it's because Flora is pretty self-centered and immature. She never stops talking and never listens. We only see one example of kindness early in the book. The rest of the time she's trying to shoe-horn everyone and everything into the never-ending Hallmark movie in her head.

She spends her entire time in Lapland trying to get Connor to believe in Christmas only so she can keep her illegal gingerbread display up. It isn't until 80% of the book that she even bothers to learn anything about Connor from Conner. Until then it is just assumptions and more imaginary Hallmarking.

There's no travel. Just a van parked in Lapland and a lukewarm romance.

Flora needs a little Kris Kringle magic. She’s lost her home and job in a few days. Her Bert friend Livvie is her nest advisor and gives her the idea of having a pop up market of all things Christmas in a camper van. Flora jumps on it and off she goes to Lapland where she meets others like her, a mean girl, and the cuties grinch ever named Connor.
I love the concept of camper van life because it’s nothing I would ever Do. Flora is a whimsical, zany girl who is a breath of fresh air. I love this theme in Raisin’s books. I also loved the mention of Diehard being a Christmas movie, because it is!

Flora loves Christmas - so much that she works in a Christmas shop, has a collection of Christmas onesies and expects her boyfriends to know all the names of Santa's reindeer. She doesn't have the best luck with employment and decides that owning a van that also serves as a portable Christmas shop is a great solution. Flora's trip to Lapland introduces the reader to Finnish traditions (like wife-carrying competitions) as she herself learns about the area and the process of owning a business. Through a slight misadventure she meets Conner without realizing he manages the same Christmas market where she will be for the next five or so weeks. It doesn't hurt that he is a gorgeous mountain of a man, but drat- he is not a fan of Christmas! With the help of some friends, Flora proceeds to make Conner understand the magic of the season. She creates many opportunities for Conner to engage in Christmas activities, and our dear Flora can't help but fall for him. Does it really matter about the reindeer - when Flora has found her Hallmark life?
The quirkiness of Flora is endearing. She keeps Connor on his toes, and he realizes that he has found someone who makes it feel like Christmas every day. The story develops slowly but with a satisfying and tender ending.

Flora loves Christmas, but her caustic wit and abrasive personality gets her fired from her job in a Christmas shop. Trying for a complete makeover in her life, she decides to buy a van (camper and shop capable) and heads to Lapland and a Christmas market, hoping for her own Hallmark Christmas experience. When she meets Connor, who looks like a Norse god (but hates Christmas), she vows to herself to remake the man into someone who loves Christmas as much as she does.

This was an entertaining book, seeing Flora try to circumnavigate the rules of the campground while stepping on the toes of another woman who has her eyes set on Connor. The Lapland setting helps bring the Christmas setting to life.

I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read and review this book.

Does Conner love Flora or is it just an infatuation?
Flora loves Christmas more than anything else in the world, so she’s gutted when her Scrooge-alike boss fires her from Deck the Halls Christmas emporium. But now she finally has a chance to follow her dreams – and what better place to start than the home of Christmas?
Before she can say ‘sleigh bells’, Flora’s on her way to Lapland in a campervan-cum-Christmas-shop. She can’t wait to spend her days drinking hot chocolate and taking reindeer-drawn carriage rides, but something Flora didn’t expect was meeting Connor, a Norse god of a man who makes her heart flutter and snowflakes swirl in her stomach. There’s just one problem: Connor hates Christmas.
Can Flora convince Connor of the joys of Christmas – and will she find a festive romance along the way?
I haven't ever read one of this author's books before.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley. This in no way affects my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

I loved the premise of this book, and was really excited when I started and it was very clear that Flora is an autistic woman whose special interest is Christmas (I'm not sure if this is every explicitly confirmed, but it's so incredibly obvious to me, and I was thrilled to discover it). However, that's about as far as my praise for the book goes.
From the beginning, everything goes wrong for Flora-- in the first few pages she's broken up with and fired, and we find out that both of these are a pattern. While her friends sympathize with her and say she's not the one at fault... in most of the situations we're shown in the first 35% of the book (the point at which I DNF'd) she IS the one at fault, or is at least equally to blame-- but she never takes any accountability for it.
There wasn't a whole lot of plot in the beginning, which I would have been fine with had I liked the main character (being a romance, and a Christmas one at that, I'd usually be quite happy with very little plot). And likewise, I think I would have been fine with Flora's characterization had there been a bit more of a plot. As it was, I didn't find myself rooting for the character OR being swept up by the story.

I love a good enemies to lovers, so a part of me was tempted to keep reading once she got to Lapland and discovered that the handsome stranger who'd helped her out (and who she inexplicably hated) was Connor, but by that point I'd already convinced myself to keep reading a couple times, and both times hadn't gotten out of the story what I'd been hoping for.

This book will really get you in the Christmas spirit! I loved the two main characters Flora and Conner. Flora was quirky and fun and her love for Christmas was over the top in the best way possible. This was definitely a cozy, holiday read that I will be recommending to everyone! I couldn’t help by smile when reading this!

This was the perfect book and it really got me into the Christmas mood! I loved Flora as a character. She was passionate about the holidays and had the perfect amount of quirkiness. I couldn't stop laughing at the sauna parts because they reminded me of when I traveled to Finland for work and was in for quite the culture shock!

This was my first Rebecca Raisin book and I can't wait to read others.

I’ve enjoyed others in this series, but this one I unfortunately found lacking. While I like a heavy dose of “Christmas” in my Christmas romance, this was a bit too over the top for me. The biggest issue I had is that the book is basically entirely dialogue - Flora’s internal dialogue, or dialogue between the characters. It almost felt as if I was reading a play or a movie transcript. I prefer a bit more prose. The romance was quite lackluster and I unfortunately didn’t find it believable. If you’re into van life and Christmas this might be for you. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Flora and Connor. Flora owns a van that she sells Christmas trinkets out of. Connor is the manager of the festival that hosts the Christmas shops. There is an instant attraction between them. They each have trust issues but together they work them out and fall in love.

New cover but a joy to reread. Ty his should be a holiday favorite, Pure holiday fun! This is a whimsical and romantic holiday story to enjoy.

“Can you name all of Santa’s reindeers?” That’s Flora’s surefire way of finding out whether a man is suitable or not for her. Flora has the greatest love for everything Christmas and wants everyone else to have that joy too. The problem is that most men think Flora is just plain kooky and quirky. Who wears Santa or Reindeer onesies when it’s not even Christmas?

When Flora loses her “dream” job of being a cashier in a Christmas shop for being too kind to customers, and then her best friend and roommate takes a job in the states, Flora decides she needs to make a change too. With her love of Christmas, she decides to join the Van Lifers, start a traveling Christmas Shop, and head to Lapland, Norway. Everyone knows that Lapland is where Santa lives. But that Hallmark ending that Flora is looking for will take some doing. First, arriving in the Christmas community in Lapland, Flora in her boisterous and eccentric ways finds that not everything she heard about the friendliness of van life is true although she soon finds friends. Secondly, even being her own boss, Flora has to answer to Connor, the manager of the community who although a hunky Norwegian, is a Grinch. He doesn’t even believe in Christmas and thinks Die Hard is a Christmas movie! With the help of her new friends, Flora makes it her mission to change his mind. She wants to help Conner find the joy and magic of Christmas and win his heart. Flora is looking for that Hallmark ending.

This is such a delightful read, with lots of giggles and at the absurd situations that Flora creates and finds herself in. It’s a true holiday romance about finding that magic again and believing in that joy. You discover that Christmas is more than about all the glittering lights and the shiny tinsel on the tree.

Many thanks to #netgalley #rebeccaraisin #florastravelingvhtistmasshop yo read and review this book.

Wow! Rebecca Raisin provides a GREAT Christmas novel! Flora is a zany Christmas fanatic, who has not had the best luck in relationships or finances. When Rebecca decides to purchase a van and have a traveling Christmas Shop she is taken away from the area she knows best and works to meet new people. Flora meets Connor and has a rocky start with him. However after getting to know Connor she helps him to see that people do have the best intentions and that he is worth understanding and believing in the true meaning of Christmas. This was an amazing read, and my interest is piqued into reading more of Rebecca Raisins other works.

Thank you NetGalley for a pre-release of Flora's Travelling Christmas Shop.

I absolutely loved this book. Down on her luck, Christmas enthusiastic Flora goes on the adventure of a lifetime - seeking her own Hallmark movie-like happily ever after. The characters are endearing and the story moves along quickly. I'd love to see this book made into a movie. I highly recommend that you give this book a read.

After finishing Flora’s Travelling Christmas Shop by Rebecca Raisin, I couldn't tell you whether the author was writing an homage to Jenny Colgan’s Bookshop Around the Corner or a satire of the Christmas season.

The two books have a few surface-level similarities. Both protagonists are unemployed. Both take a chance on a dream. Both have an unwieldy vehicle. Both leave their home to start their new life. There are a few other similarities but I don’t want to get pedantic about it.

It’s important to note, though, if you liked Bookshop Around the Corner, you probably will not like this book. I’ve seen some promotions that suggest otherwise and just need to correct that error. Flora’s Travelling Christmas Shop is definitely not for lover’s of Jenny Colgan’s NYT’s best seller.

It’s not that Flora’s Travelling Christmas Shop is a bad book, though it isn’t a good one. Let’s compare Nell to Flora for a moment. Nell is hopeful, determined, vulnerable, loving. Flora is crass, presumptuous, abrasive, thoughtless, and naive. Nell wants to share her love of books by bringing her traveling bookshop to book deserts. Flora wants to sell crappy Christmas merch from her campervan.

I think the author tried to write Flora as a quirky heroine. She’s chronically late, thinks the rules apply to everyone but her, expects others to help her, lies and manipulates to get what she wants. The love interest, Connor, is a grumpy guy who might have been an appealing character except that we hardly ever see him.

Flora has to sell off all her precious Christmas collectables in order to buy a campervan and travel to a Christmas-themed pop-up village where she will sell Christmas stuff she buys wholesale. This is weird – why doesn’t she sell the Christmas collectibles from her van? Oh yeah. Because she can’t afford the van until she sells all the Christmas stuff. Now do you see why this feels like satire?

There’s an old saying that even a stopped clock is right at least once per day. You can apply that saying to this book. There are a few brief moments that aren’t awful – that’s about the best I can give you on this story. Let me just end by mentioning that Flora and Connor dance to “The Little Drummer Boy.” I’m telling you … satire.

I received a digital ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
