DNF at 47%

I was bored and the characters were very flat for me. I struggled to get into the story. The timelines were weird, and the writing style just didn't work for me.

Had a hard time putting this book down. Really dug the romance the way it was written as well as the others characters. Got a little confusing at times with the plot, but still enjoyable.

Interesting take on good vs. evil, with a romantic twist.

I absolutely loved this book! There were so many moments where I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next, I was on the edge of my seat! It was not at all what I expected, in a good way. The world building was done perfectly, in that you are immersed in their world but you aren’t bogged down by too many details. At times it gave me Practical Magic vibes, but I was 100% here for it!

Right from the beginning, I liked the story and wanted to know what was to come. Only the deeper I got into the story, the more I lost interest. I couldn't find an attachment to the characters even though I laughed out loud in certain parts. I felt more bleh when reading the story, but it did pick up within the last 2-3 chapters.

Bridgid wakes up one day and finds that she is 100 years in the future with no memories of how she got there and what she is doing. All around her, there are monsters referred to as 'the damned'. Thankfully, two witches are living in her home and help guide Bridgid to find her purpose and why she has come back. Honestly, my favorite part about this book was not the witches but the love story. I found myself sighing out loud in awe of the love described, and it really warmed my heart. Even writing this, I'm smiling while thinking about those scenes. The chemistry between Bridgid and her lover was A BIT spicy 🌶️ (not complaining about that)

Overall, it was a good story, just not the one for me. I wish I could have connected more with the characters and the plotline.

A quick and fun witch book. Nothing new, nothing special but still, a good story. read it on the beach, with a sugary drink in hand kind of book.

The Lost Witch was absolutely enchanting! Crutcher wrote a story that was so well written I found myself flying through the pages, unable to put the book down, pondering what would happen next. My favorite piece of this entire story was how believable the characters were.

The writing is clear and clean, and very immersive. The book hums along at a good clip, but the pacing makes sure we're given time to breathe between plot-intensifying moments. The story was absolutely engaging and the work that went into the settings was noticeable and superb. I felt absolutely transported and I'm so incredibly glad I was able to read an arc of this story

I read The Orphan Witch by Paige Crutcher as well and KNEW I HAD to read this one as well. She has a gift for writing about family and challenges and wraps is all up between the cover of a book. You won’t be able to put this own down. I just needed to read a few more pages, just a few more, every time I picked it up…and it was worth the late night to finish it!

The Lost Witch by Paige Crutcher is a great book that has it all: fantasy, fiction, mystery, romance, and entertainment throughout. I think the best part is that it doesn't feel like it is trying to do too much at once.

I made it about 30% of this book and just can't bring myself to finish it. It had so much promise but this one just isn't for me. thank you netgalley & the publisher for the arc.

Each character that I met, just made the book so much better in my eyes. I absolutely loved getting to know Ophelia and Finola. If I had to pick a favorite out of those two, it would definitely be Fin because she was hilarious. The girl had no filter and just made me laugh.

Besides those two, we also get to meet the trickster god, Luc Knightly. Now he was all kinds of yummy and a blast from Brigid's past. They had some serious sexual tension and chemistry which I ate all up. I'll also admit that I was completely right about something before it was revealed. Definitely made me happy and then bittersweet.

In the end, I was so scared of how this book could end for everyone involved. I'm glad to admit that I'm so happy with what Paige gave us. If it ended in the way I thought it was going to, well, I'm sure I would be writing a much different review.

When you tell me a book resembles Charmed in even the slightest, I am all in.

Brigid Heron, a witch, healer, and right hand to a Goddess, is Evermore's protector, and watches over to make sure the Lough is untouched by chaos looking to disrupt it. When a god comes in and offers to grant Brigid her dream, she is willing to do anything, including betray her Goddess. Years after her dream was given to her, a spell goes wrong and Brigid is cast a century into the future.

This book had soo much potential. I was waiting to fall in love with it the whole time. I think Crutcher had an exciting storyline, and interesting characters, but they failed to deliver and live up to their full potential. I wish the beginning of the story would have been set up better, and that the timeline throughout was much clearer.
From the bits we got of Knightly, I loved him. I wish we got a stronger relationship dynamic between them throughout. Ophelia and Finola needed more backstory, but otherwise their relationship with Brigid was developed well throughout. There were random times when Finola's podcast transcript were thrown into the book and they felt extremely out of place.

My overall issues with the book were the pacing and lack of development that could have made this experience a lot more exciting. The potential was there!

I loved the concept behind this book. However the timelines were confusing and all the characters were flat.

This is a captivating novel full of witches and eerie happenings. The characters of Bridget, Knightly, Ophelia, and Fiona are well written and enchanting. The story is one of lost loves, a haunted town, a wicked lake, and the four witches that evilly hold the lake and its ungodly inhabitants. It is up to Bridget, Ophelia, and Fiona with the help of Knightly to seal the lake backup and stop the terrible terror the four witches have wrought over the town of Evermore.

I enjoyed this book. The plot was paced appropriately and the characters were well developed. I would recommend this book to others.

I enjoyed this story and the characters, especially Fin and Ophelia. I felt a little disoriented about the timeframe since it felt like the Brigid story should have been happening in the 1800’s not the 1920’s. You do need a very active imagination to fully appreciate this book. The description of the monsters and the witches requires that you are able to visualize something outside of your typical fairy tale. I liked the interaction with Brigid and Luc and definitely wanted to finish the book to see what happened but I did skim through quite a bit. This book probably has a wide audience but it wasn’t really for me. I received an ARC from St. Martin’s Press through NetGalley and appreciate the opportunity to read this book.

The Lost Witch by Paige Crutcher is a fantasy story that incorporates elements of other genres. The idea of this book grabbed me and I think that, overall, it had some great elements. I did struggle a bit with the plot, due to the time travel. Since the main character did not move in a linear way through time, neither did the plot. This made it hard to track everything and connect with characters.

I really enjoyed stepping out of my normal genres to read this book. I do enjoy reading books involving witches past and present, as long as it is done right. I like it when the author incorporates reality, earthly characters, and even historical detail within the plot as well. Ms. Crutcher does all of that and more.

The plot was intricate, kept my interest, surprised me a few times, and kept that balance between realism and paranormal concepts. I am glad I decided to read this one!

Mesmerizing and magical !

The premise and themes that are featured in this book are probably some of my most favourite elements in fantasy. Paige Crutcher delivers an atmospheric, engaging and beautifully written tale with great characters, a captivating setting and an extremely enchanting storyline. This is the first book by Crutcher that I have read. I'm definitely going to check out her other books!
