A great suspenseful read! The cover is absolutely stunning and will lure readers in and they won’t be disappointed. Gave and Pippa live in a small cottage on the Australian coast but their perfect little world starts to unravel after a woman jumps. But did she?
This was overall an excellent read filled with suspense and a great psychological thriller.

What a storv! I was captivated from the start and did not want to put this book down.
The mystery throughout was and the depiction of relationships, family, love and the lengths people will go to for those they love was written in very well. As was how it dealt with mental health issues and the impact they can have on family and extended family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, even though I saw the ending coming.
I didn't like that there was a POV of a dead person. I nearly stopped reading v early on because of it, but then the story was too good and I just had to keep going and look past it. But it did take me out of the story a bit.

Gabe and Pippa have a gorgeous view from their cliffside cottage in a small coastal town. The only downside is the cliff has become a common spot for suicide attempts. Fortunately, Gabe is very good with people and has always been able rescue each person. Until one night, a woman named Amanda goes through with it. Or does she? Pippa can't believe what she thinks she saw. Did Amanda jump or did Gabe push her? Especially when she finds out Gabe personally knew Amanda, Pippa doesn't know what to think.
I have quickly come to love Sally Hepworth's novels and are a must read for me. They always draw me in almost immediately and keep me wanting more throughout the entire book. The twist of this one I never saw coming and completely shocked me, which is a common theme for this author.
Thank you Net Galley for the e-ARC!

This was a phenomenal read and might be one of my favorites from Sally Hepworth. She once again weaves mystery, lies, relationships and secrets into a page-turning masterpiece that I could not put down. I highly recommend it for thriller lovers! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Gabe and Pippa Gerard are a happily married couple, although they've faced their share of challenges in the seven years they've been together. Gabe struggles with mental illness and after an episode at his work, they decide to relocate to a seaside town outside of Melbourne, with Gabe taking on the primary caretaking of their two daughters and Pippa, an estate lawyer, acting as the family breadwinner. What they don't know is that their dream home is a popular cliffside spot for people to take their lives, and Gabe becomes well known in their small town for talking folks down from the ledge. One day, a woman visits the cliff and Gabe goes out to talk to her, but this time, he is unsuccessful and the woman ends up dead. As the police do their investigation, it becomes apparent that Gabe and the woman had a connection that threatens to unravel the tentative peace the Gerards have built.
I really enjoyed this twisty domestic thriller! There were a lot of plot elements, and at time it just all seemed like A. LOT. but overall, it was suspenseful and surprising and kept me engaged the entire time! There was so much depth and complexity to the marital relationships in this book and lots of threads connecting everyone. I loved the dual POV and getting to see the story unfold between the past and present day. A really enjoyable thriller!
Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the advanced reading copy in exchange for my honest opinion!

Really enjoyed this one. While it took a few chapters to get into it, once I did the twists didn't stop. Highly recommend this one.

"The Soulmate" by Sally Hepworth is a thrilling and captivating novel that I couldn't put down. I ended up reading this one in 2 sittings (which would have been one had I not needed to sleep). This book deserves 4-stars for its compelling storytelling and engaging dual POV narrative.
One of the standout qualities of this novel is its ability to draw you in from the very beginning. I found myself completely engrossed in the storyline and the uncovering of secrets.

⭐️⭐️/5
Thank you to Netgalley for my early review copy (even if I didn’t get to it prior to publication).
Meh. That’s how I feel about this one.
The premises sounds so good but I was pretty disappointed. This was totally forgettable and honestly I already forgot some of it.
The twists weren’t that shocking, I had one figured out from the beginning because it was glaringly obvious. I also didn’t love one of the narrators on this so that also plays a big role in my review and how I feel about this book.
Lots of family drama and drama involving powerful people with secrets. That pretty much sums up this story. I did like the POV of Amanda, I thought that was a nice touch. Other than that, this was a pretty boring thriller.
Overall, I just didn’t enjoy this one as much as I had hoped I would! The cover is cool though!

Sally Hepworth’s latest novel, The Soulmate, is destined to become another best seller. What can I say? The woman can write, and her stories are so compelling! They certainly get my heart racing.
Favorite parts of The Soulmate have to be the atmospheric descriptions and the isolated location. I enjoyed a few twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Overall another solid read, which I rate 4 out of 5. Thanks to the publisher for another solid read!

I was in a bit of a book rut but this one fixed it!! This was a great thriller!
Thank you Net Galley & to the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Mental illness was the main theme of this one. There was a convoluted family tree. Unfortunately, I am a fan of this Sally Hepworth novel.

I have truly enjoyed all of the books I have read by Sally Hepworth, and this is not a deviation! I flew through the story of Gabe and Pippa, with twists and turns that surprised me...and that is hard to do, as a seasoned thriller reader!
Enthusiastically recommend! TW: Suicide

I was excited to read this one, as I've enjoyed all of Sally Hepworth's books, and this one didn't disappoint. It was fast-paced, the characters were relatable, and the setting only added to the story - giving it an atmospheric vibe. I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys fast-paced thrillers, especially from Lisa Jewell and Lucy Foley.

" I'm starting to realize it's a rare family that doesn't have a few problems."
In Soulmate, a picture-perfect young family lives in a cottage on "millionaires' walk" in a coastal town close to Melbourne. Gabe and Pippa fell in love with the cliffside property before they realized that the location's curse is the reason why they could afford this home with a spectacular view. Apparently "millionaires' walk" is a very popular place to jump for those who have lost the will to live. But in the year since Pippa and family have moved in, charismatic, stay-at-home-dad Gabe has talked seven out of seven suicidal persons into stepping away from death. Until one evening, the eighth person who suspiciously lingered at the precipice was gone despite Gabe's efforts.
"We trust people based on the strangest, most arbitrary things, none of which have any bearing on whether or not you are inherently good. "
The story alternated between two women's POVs. Initially Pippa shared her observations about that fateful night and occasionally hinted at problems in their family. And the second narrator was the all-seeing ghost of Amanda, the woman who died.
"People always talk about love like it's a magical thing, a gift from the gods, a sunbeam from above! But it's horrible, being in love. The vulnerability it exposes. The person it makes you. It sent me nutty for a while. Made me lose my edge."
As these two narrators progressed, they revealed the crumbling foundations within two households. They also showcased two very different concepts of romantic relationships. Only one of the two couples included soulmates.
The Soulmate is my first novel written by Hepworth. It was a Netgalley ARC that took me a long time to get to and then to finish. The first few chapters alluded to dark secrets and worse information eventually emerged. When I finished it, I felt unsettled, just a tick below perturbed. I got into crime fiction because I liked the puzzle aspect and because most mysteries feature justice – ie. that there will be karmic balance. The Soulmate is not a classic mystery but a domestic thriller. What I didn't like was the lack of karmic balance and the way mental illness was deployed in the plotline. The writing was good; I had no complaints. But with alternating female narrators, I'd recommend the printed book over the audiobook, which is how I had completed this story. The plotline and its resolution, however, were a bit of a stretch. Maybe domestic thrillers are not for me.

Meh, not my favorite, but I couldn't pinpoint exactly why. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book!

This was a good book! I went in entirely blind and was happily surprised with a family drama kind of thriller. I would compare this to Rock Paper Scissors, maybe? Told from the perspective of multiple people (even a dead person), this book takes you on a ride through several years of ups and downs; children’s bath times, sketchy investors, affairs, an illegitimate child, and unspoken love. Honestly so many good parts of this book, I can’t choose just one.

I really enjoyed this book. The storyline felt a bit more unique and I found myself continuously going back and forth on how it was going to end, which made it even better. I enjoyed the short chapters and multiple POVs as well. This author can be hit or miss for me, but I enjoyed this one!

I loved this one! It had me hooked from the very first page and had me flipping the pages to see what would happen next. This one had so many shocking secrets and revelations and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. Highly recommend this one!

Another case of why did I wait to read this one? It was intense, and there was a lot going on in "The Soulmate: A Novel" by Sally Hepworth, but good lord it was so well done. I spent my entire time thinking I knew what was going on, but at the same time, I didn't. I thought everything was cut and dry, but things were tangled among the four main characters in the story, leaving you constantly wondering if you have it all figured out. In short, you don't. You have no idea what is going on, and there is so much more beneath the surface that remains just out of reach throughout the book.
Did she jump? Was she pushed? What is everyone hiding? This one deals with heavy topics of suicide, murder, mental illness, infidelity, and a marriage of convenience. "The Soulmate: A Novel" by Sally Hepworth draws you in from the very first page and keeps your attention until the unexpected end.

Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress for this blacklist eARC!
Pippa and Gabe live in a picturesque home on a seaside cliff. It is everything they could hope for except for the fact that the cliff has become a popular spot for people to end their lives. Gabe has gained a reputation for talking many off the ledge and saving their life. Until one day, he isn't able to and a woman jumps to her death. Or did she?
This was a perfectly fine domestic thriller. The story overall unfolded in an expected manor that didn't have any surprises for me. It was a quick read but very forgettable. I didn't find much connection with Gabe or Pippa and found them to be a bit flat. This was my first Sally Hemsworth book and I am willing to read more before saying the author isn't for me.
