I could not put this book down! This is the first book i have read by Sally Hepworth but it will not be my last! There are a handful of plot twists throughout that kept me so interested in the story. The story is told from two different point of views (Amanda and Pippa). This really kept me engaged as the story unfolded. I also enjoyed the short chapters - made it easy to pick up the book on short work breaks, etc. There is also an emphasis on mental illness and how this can impact not only those with the mental illness but others in their lives. Overall, this was a very exciting read with secrets being revealed throughout and plot twists I never saw coming.

Another suspenseful read by Sally Hepworth. I always enjoy her books because they are a little deeper than your typical thriller.

Gabe and Pippa Gerard have had a tumultuous marriage so they decided they need a fresh start. They moved to a small coastal town outside of Melbourne into their dream home. The only down side is “The Drop” which is a popular place for people to go to end their lives.
Gave has become somewhat a town hero for his ability to talk people out of jumping off the cliffs. Unfortunately, one night it doesn’t work, and a woman “jumps”. It is ruled a suicide, but was it really?
Pippa discovers that her new life is full of lies and deception as she tries to figure out if the woman really jumped and why her husband lied to the police about knowing her.
This book had lots of twists and turns and the main plot twist at the end came out of nowhere. Sally Hepworth always does such an amazing job at build up and delivery.

Read this knowing you’re getting more than just a thriller and a mystery. You’re also getting a story about marriage, mental illness, and love. I love Sally’s characters. I’ve read a few of her books, and I always find myself feeling deeply for the characters in her books.
The Drop. It’s a beautiful beach view and a scary place due to the danger it presents. Gabe and Pippa have decided to risk it for an opportunity to raise a family in a beautiful home near the beach. Until a tragic accident happens. Or was it?
I recommend this book to both thriller and drama lovers alike. I feel it covers multiple genres.

A crazy wild ride for sure. This book has some seriously jaw dropping twists. The characters were so well developed they felt like friends. The atmosphere was amazing. The suspense was intense. This book has every element of a great read that will keep you up way to late to find out what really happened!

The Soulmate is a compulsively readable novel that I found hard to put down. I am already a big fan of Sally Hepworth, and she didn’t disappoint with this latest thriller. It’s the story of Gabe and Pippa, and their two young daughters, who live in a cliffside cottage in a coastal town near Melbourne. Unfortunately the cliff, known locally as The Drop, is a place that attracts people who want to end their lives. Gabe has become somewhat of a local hero because he has talked down many of the troubled and suicidal jumpers.
One night, a woman approaches The Drop, and Gabe goes outside to talk to her. Things do not go well. Then Pippa finds out that Gabe knew the woman. What exactly happened at The Drop?! That’s really all you need to know.
I found this thriller highly entertaining from beginning to end, and I have thought about these characters often since I finished the book. If you like a story with secrets, betrayals and tons of twists, this is the book for you! Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

I have been spending these cold, winter days cuddled up reading books and "The Soulmate," kept me company last weekend! Before I get into what this book is about, I want to give a TW for suicide.
"The Soulmate" is about a woman named, Pippa, who moves to a house on a cliff with her family. This cliff happens to be a place where sadly, many choose to end their lives. Pippa’s husband is known in the town for talking people down from the cliff before they jump, until one night when a woman falls to her death. At first, this seems like a tragic story of suicide, but then Pippa realizes she knew the woman, Amanda, and so did her husband. Without giving too much of the story away, there is obviously more to this story.
This book is told from two perspectives, Pippa's and Amanda's. While I didn't necessarily love either character, they were well developed, and I was glued this book the entire time. This story has many layers and will hold your interest as you try to figure what is happening and who to trust!
Thank you to Sally Hepworth, NetGalley and the Publisher for this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.

Totally loved this book. So many twists and turns, totally unpredictable, Sally Hepworth give us the misperceptions of a perfect marriage. It’s not always what it looks like and it’s about what really goes on behind closed doors, Two couples who’s lives are joined, a suspicious suicide,. Full of lies, deception and secrets. Well worth a read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed this book! Kept my attention well and I finished it in 2 days. A few twists at the end that I didn’t see coming made it worth the read.

This hit a little too close to home since I have a spouse who has similar issues as the husband in this book. In fact, his storyline for diagnoses was eerily similar. I know the author probably wanted to make these a mystery, but the bells in my head went off immediately for me.
It did have some twists and turns I did not see coming. And, I could not put it down for a second because I had to know how this was all going to end.
The ending was a little sad, but also was wrapped up nicely. Great thriller!

This was a slow unraveling of a complex story. The conclusion was shocking and not at all what I was expecting! Like the peeling of an onion, this plot unraveled slowly. Intricately pieced together and featuring interesting characters, I flew through this one in a day.

This one was an incredibly quick read because I had to find out what was going on!! At first I was a tad confused by the POV and timeline changes but once it got going I was fully intrigued. There were lots of plot twists.
Thank you St. Martin's Press for the ARC of this one.

I’m torn, I don’t know if I loved it because of the twist at the end and how it has effected my heart or if I want to take a moment and sob until I process and feel better. This was a mystery/suspense for about 85% of the book and the last 15% was a Grey’s Anatomy-esque drama, the good kind. Safe to say, I did not expect that ending and for it to effect me as much as it has

This book was definitely twisty in so many ways I wasn’t expecting. Told from “Then” and “Now” perspectives of two wives, Pippa and Amanda, I both liked and disliked all the characters at some points of the book. When it all came together in the end, I was pretty devastated for all. No spoilers here but suffice it to say that there is betrayal, affairs, genuine mistakes, mental illness, love that you didn’t realize existed til the then, loyalty, death … and then there are two that are Soulmates. Great book and I loved the short chapters that kept me saying, “just one more chapter” til way past my bedtime.

This was a great mystery. I loved how all of the characters were connected in the end. the POVs were amazing.... how we could hear a story from a character we never technically met -brilliant! The author did a great job setting the scene as well. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Omg so twisted and different points of views from past to present. I would get up in the middle of night after a tiring day at work to get my next installment. You just never know what’s going to come at you. The promises/lies of Pippa and her husband Gabe and Max and wife Amanda. The known and unknown connections. The secrets and the support.
So good, and a suspenseful!

Soooo...I haven't read this author yet BUT I have two of her previous books on my bookshelf to read. I was one of the lucky few who was given an ARC of The Soulmate and had to read it now. It realeases in April 2023.
I usually have a hard time with domestic thrillers but not with this one. I was so engrossed in this story that I finished it in less than 2 days. I loved the format, POV and setting for this one. I especially enjoyed the underlying love story of Max and Amanda.
I also loved that it deals with the background and emotional trauma that a spouse with a mental illness can create. I have to admit that ending with Max... completely shocked me which isn't easy to do. Highly recommend this one! I'll definitely be pushing this author's other books up the TBR.
I sincerely appreciate St. Martin's Press for the review copy. While a review wasn't expected, I have offered my opinion and these are my own thoughts.

✨Book Review - The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth✨
Gabe and Pippa Gerard just moved into their dream home, a cliffside cottage in a rural town in Melbourne. They think this is a perfect place to raise their two daughters and have a fresh start. But, there’s a darker side to their new home. It has a cliff that is known for people to go to end their lives and Gabe has become a hero in helping save those people, until one day he doesn’t. Pippa thinks she sees something but her husband says something different. She has a lot of questions and wants to find the truth. Trust her husband or trust her gut?
This book was great! It had some good twists and I loved reading the different POVs. We went back and forth from past to present from both Pippa and the dead woman, Amanda. I wasn’t sure about having Amanda’s POV at first but it wasn’t supernatural or weird, it actually was written in a way that helped move the story along. It was dark and twisty and I enjoyed reading this.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This novel tells the story of Pippa, her husband, and their two young girls, who have just moved into a home on the edge of a cliff where people famously visit to kill themselves. Their lives become upended, however, when the most recent victim at the cliff winds up being someone entangled in their lives.
This story wasn’t as compelling as I wanted it to be, and it’s funny because I looked back and realized that was how I had felt when reviewing the other book of Hepworth’s that I previously read. I was underwhelmed with the plot twists and just not as interested in what was happening as I wanted to be.
Thanks to Netgalley for this Advanced Reader copy!

I could not put this down! I stayed up all night to finish this novel and I have no regrets. The plot twists were AMAZING! Definitely worth the read!
