This was great!! The suspense honestly kept me going, kept me asking questions and wondering what would happen next. If anything, it made me want to keep an eye out on all of Hepworths future releases. 5/5 stars!

Thank you NetGalley for providing this book for an honest opinion. This book had so many twists and turns that it was hard to put down. The storyline was unique and I wanted to keep reading and reading. Obviously, we know that they was a story about the woman who jumped from the cliff, we just didn't know what it was. The story was told from alternate characters and timelines. It was written nicely to keep you hooked until the very end.

Leave it to Sally Hepworth to write one of the more creative thrillers Iโ€™ve read in a while. The Soulmate was creative and had me hooked from the first chapter. The alternating view points of Pippa and Amanda was well done.

Gabe is known in his small town as a hero for being able to convince people to not end their lives by jumping off the cliff behind his house. He has saved many lives, until he doesnโ€™t. A woman jumps to end her life. Police rule it a suicide at first before they realize the case may not be as simple as it seems.

Sally Hepworth is a must read author and will not disappoint with The Soulmate.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martinโ€™s Press for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion

Ok, Sally is an auto buy, auto pick up, auto request for me. Iโ€™ve been reading her novels since 2016 and watched how sheโ€™s grown her writing from โ€˜๐˜’๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜น ๐˜ธ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜บโ€™ fiction to fast paced domestic thrillers. And this one was No difft. โฃ

With short chapters, The Soulmate is easily bingeable. Itโ€™s a story about a couple who live on a cliff side. A place of beautiful sunsets and gorgeous views but with the darkest of secrets because itโ€™s also the place where people come to end their lives. โฃ

One day Pippa is at the window looking out back when she sees a woman wandering the steep cliffs so she sends her husband Gabe outside to talk to her. That on its own is not abnormal, Gabe has a gift of calming others down and has done it before. โฃ

With a brief second of Pippa looking away, the stranger and her husband go from talking to him looking over the edge. What happened in the moments between is what the reader will discover between the flash backs (and multiple MC voices) . โฃ

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC for my Kindle.
I have read all of the author's books and enjoyed them all. This one was a twisty, suspense novel that didn't disappoint me.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martinโ€™s Press for the early copy of Sally Hepworthโ€™s newest novel.
I became a Hepworth fan fairly recently when I picked up The Good Sister, and was thus very excited to get a chance to read The Soulmate. The storyline wasted no time catching my interest, and kept a good pace throughout.
Gabe and Amanda recently purchased their dream home, a cottage near a cliff, which unfortunately is a frequented place for suicide. It becomes Gabeโ€™s mission to talk people off of the ledge, until one night he is unsuccessful. As the investigation progresses, it turns out the woman not a random person, after all, and Gabe may have something to hide.
The alternating point of views between Pippa and Amanda gave interesting perspective and helped with strong character development. The Soulmate kept me guessing until the end, and I recommend it highly to anyone looking for a good domestic murder-thriller.

The Soulmate is a thrilling and suspenseful novel about the lies and secrets that can take root and grow in a marriage. Sally Hepworth does a beautiful job painting the image of a picturesque seaside town where Gabe and Pippa reside. However the home is also located in a spot known for others coming to end their life. After Gabe is with someone on the night of their jump from the nearby cliff, questions arise on how Gabe previously knew this person. The perfect amount of suspense in this book!

At the beginning, Gabe and Pippa seem like the ideal couple. They even have a perfect โ€œmeet cuteโ€ story. As we read on, we find out that things are far from perfect.

There were so many unexpected twists here. Honestly, there may have been a bit too much drama for my liking. Also, Iโ€™m not sure how I felt about the ending.

That being said, I think readers will be drawn to the short chapters and many twists and turns the story takes. This was a fast-paced, suspenseful novel!

Awesome! Full of intrigue. I wanted to keep reading to see what would happen next. Loved this author!

Gabe and Pippa move into their dream house outside Melbourne with their two daughters. The house hides something sinister - The Spot. Its tall cliffs have become a popular spot for those wishing to end their lives. Gabe tries to talk a female from the ledge but failed and her death was ruled a suicide. She said she jumped because her husband was cheating, but it turns out that Gabe knew who she was. This is when Pippa starts to have questions. Secrets unravel as she begins to discover the truth.

I love Sally Hepworth, so I was thrilled to get an ARC for this. This twisty domestic suspense novel shows the good and bad sides of marriage and that nothing is ever as it seems. There were a lot of twists throughout - some I saw coming and some took me off guard. I enjoyed this ARC and would recommend it to other suspense lovers.

Absolutely fantastic! I was so invested in Gabe and Pippa's and Max and Amanda's stories and secrets.

Sally Hepworth continues to write complex, layered and intriguing characters whose stories I need to know. She is among the best and this book is among HER best. I could....not....put....it....down.

Thank you to the publisher for gifting me a copy. It is my pleasure to write an honest review,

My first ebook ever. Not sure why it took me so long, but I am glad I jumped in. Sally Hepworth only writes bingeable books and this one kept me flipping the pages.

I know a book is good when I think about it all day at work and am more excited to read at night than I am for dinner (I love food). I also love a book that has some aspects of real life marital issues. Marriage looks so different for every person so I find it wildly fascinating to read about marital problems- especially fictional ones that involve murder.

This was equal parts sad romance as it was a domestic thriller. Alternating POV, short chapters, and attention- grabbing, this book is guaranteed to keep your interest until the last page.

I am still thinking about the ending.

Gabe and Pippa live in a seaside cottage with two adorable little girls. Sounds like a dream, but all is not as it seems. Their house lies not far from a cliff. A cliff that is well known as a suicide spot. It is also well known that Gabe has saved many people from jumping. Over and over again he is somehow able to talk people down. Until now. Late one night they see a woman approach the cliff. Like usual Gabe goes out to meet her, but this time the unthinkable happens.

I really enjoyed the opening. It was intense and had an eerie quality but The Soulmate is a domestic suspense novel. There are no major twists and turns. Rather the story focuses on the characters and really delves into their strengths and weaknesses. Their mistakes and their goals. You follow along the ups and downs of two marriages and gain insights into their lives. There is always an unsettling feeling as you wait for something bad to happen, even as it's slowly revealed that plenty has already happened in these characters' lives.

The chapters are divided into before and after the incident and are clearly labeled. And we get two narrators, Pippa and Amanda, the woman at the cliff. I found myself enjoying Amanda's chapters more but all of the characters are generally unlikable and frustrating.

I was able to get a good sense of where the story was heading and I wasn't that excited for the journey. There was one small twist that I wasn't surprised by that tugged at my heartstrings a little. The Soulmate is rather dark and could have been a depressing read. However, the chapters are short and the writing style is easy and keeps you engaged even if you just want to yell at the characters.

3.5/5 stars

Another great book by Sally Hepworth! I love psychological thrillers and Sally is one of my favorite authors for it.

I loved all the twists in the story and I was surprised by all of them. Did not see them coming at all.

Highly recommend this book!

This was my third or fourth Sally Hepworth book and I've really enjoyed all of her books so far. In this book, Gabe and Pippa are married and live close to a cliff where people are known to commit suicide. One night, a woman from Gabe and Pippa's past commits suicide and there is a lot more under the surface than first appears. This book is told from alternating perspectives of Pippa and Amanda (before and after her death). I really enjoyed and will continue to read this author's books.

Another terrific 5๐ŸŒŸ book from Sally Hepworth. She continues to engage me with her interesting plots and great characters. Thank you NetGalley for sharing this with me. I recommend this book highly.

Sally Hepworth is my kind of writer. She describes this one as a murderous love story, so I guess thatโ€™s my genre now.

Gabe and Pippa are married and live by the cliffโ€™s edge where many people come to contemplate suicide. A young woman leaps to her death in front of Gabe, but Pippa canโ€™t seem to get out of her head that Gabeโ€™s arms looked like they were reaching for her. it is revealed that the woman is Gabeโ€™s old bossโ€™ wife.

This book is told from dual POVs with a before and after timeline. The twists keep coming and Hepworth kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I didnโ€™t want to put this one down. She also did an excellent job of describing and incorporating bipolar disorder into this book.

Did Amanda the boss wife jump? Why? How is Max involved? Is Pippa to blame?? Pick this up if you love a murderous love story with all the domestic thrill and make sure you have time to finish it because you wonโ€™t want to put it down

Also, I think thereโ€™s a small typo 63 percent in that says โ€œwhile we thought we it wasnโ€™t going to flyโ€

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.
So this one was an odd one. I know it has a lot of great reviews but I really struggled to get through it. It was a lot of back and forth and there wasnโ€™t much of a mystery aspect to it. I felt like parts were drug out and other parts were rushed.
Just wasnโ€™t for me.

(4.5/5.0) The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth is a dual timeline, dual perspective mystery that kept the pages turning. In it we meet two women, Pippa and Amanda, and we alternate between their narratives. Amanda has recently fallen to her death from a steep cliff in Pippaโ€™s backyard known as The Drop.

But did she jump? Did Pippaโ€™s husband, Gabe, push her? Those are the questions the book is anchored on. And my favorite aspect - Amandaโ€™s story is being told from the afterlife, as she watches events unfold.

I really enjoyed the two-woman narration and POVs. There was a strange kinship between the two characters as they worked to unpack the stories of their husbands and it worked extremely well.

Iโ€™d recommend this to those who enjoy a mystery that unfolds with clues along the way and a resolved ending. Itโ€™s not a thriller mood, more of a somber puzzle youโ€™re solving. Personally, the ending was not my favorite, but I thought the storytelling was effective.

Thank you to St. Martinโ€™s Press and NetGalley for the gifted and advanced copy of this novel โ€“ I really enjoyed reading it.

Interesting Tale Told In Unconventional Manner. I mean, come on, how often do you get a dual timeline tale with two women - both alive in the past, but one now dead and yet still telling her tale - where both women feature in both timelines? I've read a LOT of books over the past few years alone, and I can probably count on one hand - *maybe* both of them - the number of times I've come across a remotely similar dynamic. So read the book for that alone, as Hepworth makes it work quite well.

The rest of the tale, about both of these women's love for their husbands and the lengths they will go through to save and protect both their husbands and their marriages, is interesting enough to be readable, but for some reason it just didn't hit me as hard as Hepworth's prior works. There was never a real sense of "I *must* know what happens next!", though the ending was quite beautiful in and of itself, and yes, even if you're struggling with the book, you need to read it to get the full beauty of what happens there. Overall, as noted, an interesting tale unconventionally told. Recommended.
