The Soulmate was amazing. Hepworth is a master storyteller. I have read several by her, and this is my favorite.

Whoa! Talk about twisty. This may be my favorite of Hepworth’s now!
The premise of this book was so intriguing and I was drawn in immediately. The alternating narrators and short chapters were perfection.
I had no idea how the two timelines were going to come together and 🤯
Definitely recommend this one!

Wow what a ride! I literally could not put this book down. Sally Hepworth writes a thriller with tons of plot twists that you will not see coming! Told in alternating POV, in past and present, this story will have you picking it up every chance you get just to see what happens next! Highly recommended book which I loved it is just a little bit different from the usual thrillers that seem to be out there. Grab this one for a good weekend read! Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy.

Sally Hepworth does it again! I found myself up late at night reading this book. Just when I think I got the story figured out, it takes another turn.
Thank you Netgalley, Sally Hepworth, and the publishers for this eACR. #Netgalley #thesoulmate

For some reason, I haven’t been a fan of Sally Hepworth…but The Soulmate sounded intriguing, and was described as a “one night stand” – you know, one of those books you have to stay up reading until you finish it! With thanks to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley (for providing a copy in exchange for this honest review), I dove in.
The Soulmate follows Pippa and Gabe Gerard, who have moved to a beautiful house with a backyard overlooking the ocean from its perch on a huge cliff ( known as The Drop). The Gerards realize that The Drop is a popular location for people who are contemplating suicide. Gabe has come to be known as “the suicide whisperer,” since he has saved 6 people from death in the year since they moved in. One day a woman shows up, and Gabe goes out to try to convince her not to jump while Pippa watches from the window. Pippa thinks the woman looks vaguely familiar, and thinks that something seems off with Gabe. Pippa looks away briefly and, when she looks back, the woman is gone. Did she jump? Was she pushed? It looked like Gabe’s hands were stretched out–WTF?
The story is told from alternating POVs (Pippa and Amanda, who as it turns out is known to Greg!) and jumps around in time as well, with a “then and now” or “before and after” type of storytelling. It works well! I did in fact stay up WAY past my usual bedtime to finish it, and will definitely read more of Ms. Hepworth’s work. Four stars.

The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth is quintessential Hepworth. If you haven't read her books I envy you. That just means some fantastic stories are in your future. There is very little that excites me as much as a new book by a favorite author. Which is why I was so happy to read an ARC of Sally Hepworth's new book. The Soulmate did not disappoint. Here in the United States we have these convoluted things called traffic circles. It's a way to help traffic merge into different streets without waiting for red lights or stop signs. The cars circle and merge and exit without stopping while other cars enter at different locations. Confused yet? But once you maneuver a traffic circle a few times they start to make sense. I have just described a Sally Hepworth novel. The characters merge and exit and circle until, suddenly, you see where the road is taking you. It probably wasn't where you planned to go but the journey is nerve-wracking and the destination is satisfying. The Soulmate is one of my favorite Hepworth books.... until the next one comes along. Just remember, when you think you have the story figured out, think again!
I voluntarily received a copy of the book from Netgalley.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the opportunity to read and give an honest review of this book.
Pippa and Gabe have an exciting marriage but not for the right reasons.
Gabe’s mental illness causes Pippa to live with his constant ups and downs.
They live in a home perched on a cliff over the ocean and Gabe has made it a priority to ‘save’ potential people from suicide by their jumping off the cliff.
Only the one person he isn’t able to save happens to be the wife of his former boss. However, when the police interview him, he neglects to mention that he knew her.
This book was a good twisty mystery. The reader will be uncertain of just who is good and who is bad. Maybe, everyone is a bit good and a bit bad, depending on the circumstances.
The only thing that I did not like is when the story jumps back and forth ‘before’ and ‘after’. You have to pay attention or risk becoming confused as to time and place.

Once again Sally Hepworth brings us a real page turner!! I was hooked as soon as I started the book and stayed up way too late because I could NOT put it down! The story unfolds very smoothly with twists and turns that I definitely did not expect! I enjoyed all of the characters in the story which I usually don’t!. Will definitely read this book again after it is published. This was my first ARC – a special thank you to net galley and St Martin’s Press for giving me the opportunity to read this. I definitely recommend this book!

4.5 stars
LOYALTY: Sometimes it's warranted....sometimes it's not.
A warning to all the readers: You will be saying the famous line "just one more chapter" throughout the book unless you are lucky enough to read it in one sitting!
Pippa and Gabe Gerard move to a beautiful house and their backyard overlooks the ocean up on a huge cliff (also known as The Drop). The Gerard's have lived there about a year and they have come to realize The Drop is a popular place people where people come to commit suicide. Living there a year now Gabe is now known as the suicide whisperer, having saved 6 people already. Then one day a woman shows up, Gabe is outside trying to convince her not to jump while Pippa is inside doing dishes watching out the window. The woman looks vaguely familiar to Pippa and something seems very off with Gabe. Pippa takes her eyes off them for just a second and then she notices the woman is gone. Did she jump? Why were Gabe's hands stretched out? Why did she look familiar? What the heck just happened?
Told by 2 POV'S Pippa and Amanda and also told in the then/now/after/before worked OUTSTANDING! The chapters were short and left you with a cliffhanger that I couldn't stop reading. This was a fantastic thriller and I enjoyed every second of it. 4.5 stars!!!!
Trigger warnings! Suicide
*Thank you St. Martin Press, Sally Hepworth, and netgalley for my gifted eARC*

This author! Pippa and Gabe seem to be in such a perfect relationship but it quickly unravels with the mystery of a woman who may or may not have wanted to die. The deeper the story goes the more the secrets are revealed. Good one!

This is the first book I have read by Sally Hepworth. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It kept my attention from the first page. I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

OMGOODNESS what a great fun twisty thriller. This one was hard to put down. This book starts with a suicide. The plot just builds from there. Pippa and Gage have moved to an area overlooking the ocean. The only drawback is in the back yard is a place call The Drop a known place for suicides. Gage has been successful for talking people away from The Drop. This time he can’t. But the victim is not unknown to Gage or Pippa and complications of this death multiply. The story is told through the eyes of Pippa and Amanda the suicide victim. I loved this book. It had all the twisty, heart pounding unpredictability of Sally Hepworth's book. This will definitely be a best seller.

Sally Hepworth never fails to make her readers quickly invested in the lives of a domestic couple, and then throw some chaos into their lives....it's what she does best.
Pippa and Gabe Gerard have an idyllic family, with their two beautiful children, and they've just moved to a new cliffside cottage, and they're going to have happily ever after, right? Well, that wouldn't be a Sally Hepworth novel. The cliff that their homes rest beside has a spot that begins to be known as "The Drop" where people come to an end their lives, and Gabe has successfully talked several people away from the cliff, until one unfortunate night, standing outside her kitchen window; Pippa sees her husband with his arms outreached once a woman has just disappeared from standing beside the cliff. Did she jump? Or was she pushed?
Told in a "Before" and "After" timeline with POVs from the wife, and the woman who dies from the cliff, there are so many layers to this book! All kinds of twists and turns take place in a novel that is genuinely Sally's dissection of a marriage, and the ability to trust your partner and keep their secrets...
It'll keep the reader turning the pages into the wee hours of the night, because who doesn't want to know if there's evil lurking in your soulmate... ;)
Thank you to NetGalley for the early ARC!

I read this book in less than 10 hours yesterday. Once I got my hands on it, I simply could not put it down.
The story is between two couples that know each other more ways than one, with the timeline bouncing between then/now and before/after (the death). The plot is somewhat of a slow burn in my opinion, building to find out if the death of a character is suicide or a homicide. Like many Sally Hepworth books, I find myself guessing the outcome half way through, only to be proved wrong in the best way possible. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good suspense and thriller.

3.5 stars.
Sally Hepworth's a domestic thriller that revolves around family secrets and drama, this dual POV story started out much slower than I would have liked. While it did seem to increase the pace about 50% in, by that point I was a bit disassociated. However, in saying that, I can say that the last 50% really caught me. With short chapters and cliffhangers that ended each, once it got going it became easy to finish—I just wish it hadn't taken so long to get there!

This was an amazing story about marriage and the lengths and compromises we go through as a spouse. I loved the mystery and suspense. Well done.

This was just the type of twisty, fast-paced domestic suspense I love. It’s difficult to summarize this book without giving away key plot twists as there are several throughout. Just know that nothing is as it seems at the beginning. This was not quite a five-star read for me as I felt the ending fell a little flat, but I still would highly recommend. I was hooked from the first few pages. For fans of page-turning domestic thrillers, Sally Hepworth never disappoints! Special thanks to Sally Hepworth, NetGalley, and St. Martin’s Press for sharing this e-arc in exchange for my honest review.

Loved this book and Sally Hepworth! A fast moving story with some mystery to it. Well developed characters. A very interesting study of different personalities and relationships. Thank you Netgalley and St. Martins Press for the prerelease copy of this book for honest review. I really enjoyed it.

With its dynamic plot, this twisty domestic thriller is completely binge-worthy. Told from two POV—Pippa's and Amanda's (the dead woman)—the writing is enthralling and addictive. With its layered and complex characters, The Soulmate is perfectly executed.
I have nothing but effusive praise for Sally Hepworth's novels. Her characterizations are rich and layered, as are the family dynamics. The Soulmate is more than just a story about marriage, it is a character driven thriller that will have readers anxiously turning pages to its stunning conclusion.

I really enjoy Sally Hepworth’s books, and I had a very hard time putting this one down! It was fast paced and exciting… I liked that the story was told in dual-timeline by two characters: a past and a present for Amanda and a past and a present for Pippa. For reasons that will quickly become apparent to any reader, I did not care for the present day storyline told by Amanda (it was just too weird)… And the ending was a bit of a tossup for me - I didn't like the weird randomness of the twists. But, overall, I enjoyed it and I was glad to read it.
