HOLY S*#! I am just left SHOCKED over this book.
Wow- this book got me early on! I read it so fast because I had to know what happened! I loved the two POVs that we got to see. I do think I would have loved to see Max’s POV too..
Man my heart hurt for all of the characters.. Amanda not knowing the truth.. Pippa and all that she had to deal with for Gabe.. Max and all of the death he had to deal with in life.
So many twists and I would have NEVER seen that ending coming. Wheww..
I’m sooo glad I got to read it early! I cannot wait for the rest of the world to read it and hear your thoughts!!! Go put this on your TBR and be ready for April 2023!!

Book & eARC Review
In this dual POV-dual timeline thriller, we meet Pippa and Amanda.
Pippa, a will and estate lawyer, lives with her husband and daughters in a sleepy coastal town in Australia. Their cottage, which rests on the edge of a cliff, has picturesque views but also attracts those wishing to end their lives. Consistently, Gabe, Pippa’s husband, has been able to talk people down from jumping off the cliff — until one night.
Amanda, the victim, is the wife of media mogul, Max. In the dual timelines, we see Amanda’s life leading up to that night on the cliff, as well as what happens after.
When it comes to light that Gabe knew Amanda, Pippa begins to question everything — what she saw that night, her marriage with Gabe, and her own past decisions.

What a thrilling read! This novel really sucked me in. It was my first by Sally Hepworth and I cannot wait to pick up her others now!
I really enjoyed the dual POVs and timelines in this one. It kept me on my toes and guessing what was going to happen next. The setting was also perfect and how Hepworth wrote it, I could picture it all so well in my mind.
There were a lot of characters to keep straight, especially with the dual timelines and POVs, but it wasn’t unmanageable.
I definitely will be getting a physical copy of this upon official release!
Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and Sally Hepworth for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Absolutely loved it!! Sally Hepworth writes the best domestic suspense! I always love her characters and the writing completely draws me in. This one was no exception. Just like all her others, I couldn’t put it down and it’s one that I will not soon forget.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC of The Soulmate. Sally Hepworth is one of my favorite authors and this book didn't disappoint. The story follows Pippa and Gabe, a couple who live close to an area with a cliff that is known to be a popular spot to those who want to end their lives. Gabe has become a local celebrity as he has been able to save 7 people so far from jumping. Unfortunately his luck runs out when a woman comes to the spot and falls to her death. What transpires is not expected as the woman was not a stranger and there is much more to how she came to be at that spot that night. Full of twists and I enjoyed how the book went back in forth in time and followed Pippa and the now deceased Amanda before and after. I would definitely recommend.

This is a fast paced domestic thriller. I read it within one day. The time jumps were a bit confusing at first but then once I got to know the characters it was easy to follow. I felt that the title didn’t really fit the book but I enjoyed this book. It was hard to put down because I really wanted to know what was going to happen. The ending pieced it all together nicely.

Love a good domestic suspense story and this one I couldn’t put down.
Perfectly paced reveals that kept me from putting this down and reading it within a day of receiving it.
My second time reading a Sally Hepworth book and running to grab the others I haven’t read.

Thank you St Martins Press and Netgalley for my ARC!
I was very excited to see that Sally Hepworth’s newest book was available as a Read Now. She is definitely Becoming one of my favorite authors. I generally have a hard time putting her books down. I enjoy the drama and the jaw dropping moments. This one didn’t let me down!
A duel timeline (then and now) between 4 main characters. Amanda and Pippa are 2 women who absolutely adore their husbands, Max and Gabe. But they all have some big secrets that are finding their way out.

This was an extremely enjoyable read. The telling of the story through two perspectives- Pippa and Amanda with chapters of before, after, now, and then provided context to the body of the book.
The title alludes to a soulmate- singular, and as the story unfolded it was intriguing to ponder who were the soulmates of this book. The ending answers the question and allows the story to move forward to its ending.
There are a number of twists throughout the book and the final reveal- known to only some of the characters- was very unexpected and satisfying. Once I began reading, I really could not put it down. It was a great mix of love story and suspense.

Gabe and Pippa have decided to "start fresh" in their new home, called Cliff House. The unfortunate history of the lovely home made it unattractive to most people, including Pippa. Gabe persuades her to buy it and start fresh. When a seemingly suicidal woman is spotted by them Gabe tries to help her as he has done for several other people on the brink of jumping. Things don't go as he hoped. What is a soulmate? Is it who you think it will be? Sally Hepworth has once again given us an outstanding story that had me enthralled. I was so excited to be able to read this ARC from Netgalley! Thank you!!! As you go back and forth in the lives of these people you'll be surprised at who is a hero and who isn't. Or maybe nobody is all good or all bad. I definitely would recommend this to my fellow reading friends.

My favorite book by Sally Hepworth to date. “Twisty new domestic suspense” is the perfect descriptor. Hepworth makes it so easy to fall into the story, as well as envision the characters. Told from both “before” and “current” viewpoints of the two main wives of the story, one can’t help reading faster and faster to the end. This is possible, in part, because of the skilled story telling that makes it easy to keep track of whose perspective and when - not confusing in the least, like some alternate timeline stories.
Count me in as a die hard Sally Hepworth fan.

A huge thank you to Netgalley for the advanced copy.
Sally Hepworth has become a must-read for me and it continues with The Soulmate.
Her characters are so well-written and interesting. Not all good or all bad. She really nails domestic scenes and is so good with plot twists. I don't want to spoil anything but I'll say there was tension, suspense and lots of surprises.

The Soulmate is so much more than I expected! I could not put it down!! Told from two different viewpoints and in past and present tense. The story line grabs hold of your interest and keeps you wanting more and more until the very end.
Masterfully written!

Sally Hepworth did it again! I loved this one and raced through it. Really strong plot, great character development and vivid setting.

The Soulmate might be one of my favorite Sally Hepworth books. It's told from two different characters viewpoints, in both the past and the present. . I read this book in one day because it is a page turner, I didn't guess the ending until the last chapter,
Thank you NetGalley for my review copy, all opinions are my own.

After recently devouring Verity (Colleen Hoover), Local Woman Missing (Mary Kubica), and Little Secrets (Jennifer Hillier), I found this book to be a much slower read, although it was still enjoyable. All of the characters were well developed, as they painted the picture of a small, close knit town. I liked the attention given to mental illness. It poses the question, Where does one’s mental illness stop and one’s free will begin? I loved Pippa’s answer to that at the end. Without giving too much away, the perspective of Amanda was very interesting and unique, like a modern take on a certain William Faulkner book. The ending was exciting but the jump to the last chapter seemed too abrupt . I would have liked more explanation of how Pippa arrived at her “decision”. What was her thought process? Her family’s concerns were sprinkled throughout the chapters, but what internal changes occurred in Pippa? There was an explanation but not enough for me to feel truly satisfied by the ending. As someone who surfs, I loved the description of riding a wave and the effect the adrenaline has on depression. Anyone who suffers from depression should take a surf lesson. The Soulmate is a decent read that you can put down and easily pick back up. I didn’t find myself on the edge of my seat or rushing to know the ending, but it made me think about how your actions make you more the person you are than your words or intentions.

I could not put this book down! Between the short chapters, engaging characters, dual points of view, and the absolutely frenetic pace of that plot, I felt like I had run a marathon by the time I had finished.
Gabe and Pippa have a home in a cottage on a cliff; it's absolutely beautiful and feels made for them except for one thing--due to the tall cliffs, it has become a popular site for people to go to end their lives. Gabe, with his genuine empathy, has saved many would-be jumpers just by using his voice, gently but fervently talking them away from the depths of their despair.
Gabe's winning streak comes to an abrupt one ordinary morning when Pippa glances out the kitchen window and sees Gabe talking to a distraught woman right before she goes over the edge. She doesn't want to believe what she saw, and later, when Gabe is giving a statement to the police, she backs up her husband's re-enactment, even though it doesn't match what she thinks she saw.
What follows is a plot so twisty, so cunningly crafted, it's genuinely breathtaking in its precision. Could Gabe, the perfect husband and Pippa's soulmate, be a killer, or could someone in Gabe's life want to cause him complete and utter ruin and leave the very foundation of his life in a pile of twisted rubble, much like his cliffside home will surely be years from now?
Go into this one as blind as possible and make sure to read the author's notes at the end. I commend her for doing her due diligence in her research for this book. Eternal thanks to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for this early read. Publishes April 4, 2023.

This book had me hooked from the start, so many twists and intriguing story lines that I had to keep reading until i figured it all out. I have read a few other of Sally Hepworths books, but after reading The Soulmate, I will be revisiting my Sally Hepworths TBR!

I loved this book!! My 1st by Sally Hepworth and definitely not the last!
A family moved to a home with a beautiful view! Turns out, that spot was labeled "suicide point". The husband, Gabe, saved a number of lives there, until he didn't. Was it a suicide? An accident? Murder?
Pippa, his wife, is suspicious of foul play after learning the victim was someone they knew, and was recognized by Gabe; but Gabe did not disclose the information to the police when questioned. Why?
This is told from multiple point of views, from multiple periods of time, "then " and "now". I really liked the fact Amanda (the victim) was filling in blanks of the story after her death from beyond the grave! I'm a sucker for the paranormal! It was cool to see her viewpoint.
Full of twists, this was a quick read for me! I wanted to know what was next. The final twist you'll never see coming! The way everything wrapped up was perfect! Chefs kiss! Great story!!
Give thank you for Netgalley and the publishers for a free e-Arc version in return for my honest review!
