I have read many of this authors books, this was probably my least favorite. The book was mainly told from 2 points of view, and was a now and then story too. I felt a lot of it was based on misguided ideas about what to expect in a marriage, and how far you are willing to let things go in the name of love. Two families are inter connected, although that is not apparent at first. Many mistakes are made. If mental illness is a trigger for anyone, this book is full of it. Family members try to be supportive, and yet no one really takes the bull by the horns and talks about the elephant in the room. If you are expecting this book to be a thriller, or to have many surprising twists to it, don't. They just aren't there. Sure, there are secrets, but reactions to them just don't make the cut.

I LOVED this one! I would say a bit more mystery than thriller, but 100% fast and fun! I read this over a weekend and had to keep making time to read to see how the story played out.
When a woman falls to her death, the police can’t determine if it was a suicide or homicide. The story goes back and forth in time and changes perspectives as it builds up to the moment she died.
I LOVE Hepworth!
I received this book from the publisher for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and St Martin’s for this advanced copy. My opinions are my own.

Sally Hepworth is such a great story teller. Everything is always laid out so well and wrapped up so beautifully at the end.
I read this in two days because things just kept coming up and keeping me hanging on. I just couldn’t put it down. These characters were so wild I really didn’t know what anyone would do next. Which is pretty great. Books aren’t as fun to read when the characters become predictable, and these were not at all.

I will definitely urge my friends to read this.

Thank you for the advanced copy read of The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth

Whew. DEFINITELY WORTH THE HYPE. I finished this in one day, because I could not put it down! The twist had my jaw on the floor! Short chapters, check. Incredible plot, check. Surprising twist, check check. A great all around read. This is definitely one to look out for when it’s published in April!

I love the cover of this book and was super thrilled to get right into the story. The main characters live right near a cliff that is a known spot for people to visit when they want to end their lives. The book revolves around what happens this one night when a woman jumps.

The excitement and thrills are as good as other Hepworth books! In fact, I think I have discovered my favorite with this one. I always love a story that includes adoption and that theme was present.

Marriage is often a full time job and with mental health and illnesses it can be overtime. The author does a great job touching on these subjects in a valuable way.

I’m letting friends and family know all about this book so they can read it when it’s out. Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to read a fast paced thriller!

Thank you @stmartinspress and Net Galley for the eARC of The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth.

Hepworth is an auto buy author for me so I was so excited to received this ARC! Although this isn't my favorite Hepworth read; it's still solid!

Gabe and Pippa live near a cliff that is famous for suicides. Gabe; however, is known as the "suicide whisperer" as he has saved several people from jumping to their death. But now,Amanda; who just happens to be Gabe's bosses wife, has come to the cliff and Gabe can't save her. Pippa knows what she saw; she becomes suspicious of her husband Gabe and isn't so sure that Amanda's death was accidental or suicide.

From there, things start to unravel and secrets are exposed. Turns out; these four people are connected in ways that they didn't know. More is revealed in each chapter!

This one is a page turner and a quick read. However, something about the ending wasn't satisfying to me. I'd still recommend this one as this author is great at building suspense and keeping the reader in the dark until the end.

Overall, a great read! The Soulmate releases on 4/4/23

Another fantastic thriller by Sally Hepworth! She is a must read for me and in this novel, Hepworth explores all the different layers to a marriage. This is a story of trust and fidelity and it is full of plot twists! I enjoyed the two narrators, as well as the way Hepworth jumped back and forth between them. I will continue to let Hepworth sweep me away with her stories! Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Sally Hepworth has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I could not turn the pages fast enough. Her easy writing style and short chapters with multiple plot twists made this book so enjoyable!

Holy plot twists! This book has a few of them and they were
amazing! I could not put it down. The story is told in dual
POV's alternating between Pippa and Amanda. This book left
me speechless which doesn't happen too often. It was
refreshing to read a thriller that was actually thrilling.
Pippa and Gabe live with their two daughters in a house on a
cliff known as "The Spot". The Spot was a place where people
went to end their lives. Gabe managed to talk a number of
people down however, on this particular night he doesn't. As
the situation unfolds Pippa sees everything from the window
and notices the outward position of Gabe's arms. The death
was rule a suicide, but Pippa isn't so sure.
Pippa finds out Gabe knew the victim. As she digs for the
truth more secrets come to light. What really happened that
night? Can she trust her husband?

Reviewing an advanced digital copy via NetGalley and am so excited to have gotten to read this early. I hate that so many will have to wait until April 2023 to read this one.

First off, it is engaging from the beginning. It is not the typical domestic thriller with one or two huge twists at the verrrrry end that you have to struggle to get to. The characters are engaging. The clues and hints of issues between two separate yet intertwined marriages are woven naturally throughout the story. The multiple points of view are extremely helpful and the past/present shift, which can sometimes be confusing in books, was not.

This is one to immediately add to your TBR. i haven’t given out a 5 star review in awhile, so I’m glad I read this. Took me less than a day to devour it.

I’m so glad to see this author has other books because I’m adding them to my TBR list now. Brava!!!

Thank you NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and Sally Hepworth for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! The Soulmate completely blew me away and I read it in one day because I couldn’t put it down! I loved this one and it had just enough twists and turns to keep me hooked, plus short chapters, which I always love.

This book follows Pippa and Gabe after they move into a new house alongside a cliff with their two daughters. However, this cliff is also known in their town as being “The Drop” where people often commit suicide. At the beginning of the book a woman shows up there and falls to her death, but Pippa thinks it looked like Gabe pushed her. Could he have killed her?

This plotline immediately hooked me but there’s also smaller twists as well and plenty of family secrets. It switches POV’s from Pippa to the mysterious woman who died, which was interesting. I’m not usually a big fan of mystery thrillers because I’m pretty picky, but this one was amazing! I highly recommend it.

Gutted in such a good way!! What an invigorating read! Murder, twists, scheming, and love! All poured together to make a glorious addictive can’t put down read!

Gabe and Pippa and their two little girls live in a cottage by a steep cliff that is known to be “the spot”. It has been known to be the place people go to jump and end their lives and Gabe has been successful at literally talking them off the ledge. Until one day a woman shows up and he couldn’t save her. Pippa watched the scene unfold and it just didn’t look right? Days later she finds out that Gabe actually knew this woman. Why would he not mention this? You’re then taken down crazy lane on everything Pippa has dealt with and who the woman was and of course how everything circles to the big truth. And the dun dun duuuuun reveal is fanfreakingtastic. You wouldn’t think that murder and crazy would get sentimental and make you say awww in the end. But it does and I was here for it all!

Truly captivating in the characters and plot and such a quick tantalizing read you can’t help but be sucked in!

Thank you netgalley and St. Martins press for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This was fantastic! One of the best thrillers I have read in a few years. There were so many delightful twists and turns and I loved the dual POVs.

I enjoyed this thriller by Sally Hepworth!
Pippa and Gabe have a seemingly perfect marriage with two adorable daughters. . They move to a wonderful house near the beach outside of Melbourne., They soon discover that the cliff outside there house is a spot people go to commit suicide. Since moving there, Gabe has been able to change the minds of tormented jumpers. One day, a woman appears, Gabe runs out to talk to her, and she jumps, or does she?

The is a lovely twisty book and unlike many recent thrillers, the twists are connected and actually plausible! This made it a more interesting and enjoyable read.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

I literally had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I saw this as a "read now". Um, yes please!! And Sally Hepworth knocked this one out of the park!! I flew through the pages in less than 24 hours. There were many unexpected twists and turns and the suspense was killing me. I couldn't get to the end fast enough. I absolutely love all of her books and will gladly add this to my collection when it becomes available.

Gabe, Pippa and their two little girls have finally found their dream home, but it comes with a price. The new house sits beachside on a high cliff known as The Drop, a popular place for people to go to commit suicide. Gabe uses his charm and charisma to talk down any new visitors and ends up saving many lives. He becomes a local hero of sorts until the one day his charm fails him and a woman ends up dead. Pippa discovers that her husband knew the woman but lied. Why? What is he hiding? Did she really jump or was she pushed? Told in before and after POVs of Pippa and Amanda (the jumper), The Soulmate spins a tale of deceptions and hard truths that will leave you turning the pages in a frenzy to get to the end.

Note: The Soulmate was definitely an amazing psychological thriller, but it did not contain any of Hepworth's witty, sarcastic humor. This book had a more serious tone.

I loved this book and highly recommend that you preorder now and add it to your TBRs! Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press and the author for allowing me to read this eARC in exchange for my honest opinion!

Sally Hepworth is definitely an author not to be missed! Her latest novel, The Soulmate is an absolute page turner to say the least!

Pippa and Gabe and their two daughters have moved into a house located near an area referred to as The Drop. People come to this point located on a sheer cliffside to take their lives. Gabe, being a good person, has talked many people down from the spot and prevented many unnecessary deaths. When Gabe once again goes to save a woman from jumping, everyone is shocked when he doesn't succeed. He and Pippa are very distraught over the woman's death. When Pippa later discovers that they actually knew the victim, she can't help but wonder what else Gabe has been keeping from her. The ultimate questions are whether Gabe is trying to protect himself or protect Pippa and from what.

I loved the format of this book. It's told from multiple perspectives and at various points in time. Pippa narrates sections from both the past and the present. The reader gets some insight as to how the couple met and problems that have occurred in their marriage over time. Meanwhile, the victim also aids in telling the story, both before and after her death. It's a very interesting juxtaposition because at times you have to wonder how reliable either of these characters are. Are they telling the truth or are they telling their truth?

I also loved that there were some unexpected developments in the story that I certainly did not see coming. One plot point in particular actually made me gasp aloud. The twists and turns in this book kept me turning pages late into the night! I didn't want to put it down because I needed to know what actually happened that led up to the victim's death.

If I had one criticism, I wish there would have been slightly more character development (especially with some of the minor characters). They played a role in the book but I didn't feel they were flushed out as well as they should have been.

I would definitely recommend this book to others, especially readers who enjoy psychological thrillers and mysteries. If you've not read Hepworth before, this would be a great book to start with!

Thanks to Netgalley, St. Martin's Publishing Group and Sally Hepworth for an advanced readers copy of this book to read and review. The thoughts and comments above were my own honest impressions of this book.

I love Sally Hepworth’s books and this one did not disappoint! I loved the different POVs and dual time lines.

This started out with a bang and pulled me right in. I always love dual POV'S and timelines and this one was no exception. However, after reading the last line, I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. The ending fell a little flat and the epilogue just didn't add up with the characteristics of the protagonist. I can't really explain it without spoiling it but relating a little to her, I can say that you don't change your mindset that fast or easily. Not all is lost with this book though, I don't regret reading it and still enjoyed it the entire time. The concept was original and everything tied together beautifully in the end. The writing was also exceptional and keeps your interest. I just didn't love it. Three Stars.

Thank you as always to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for this ARC.

This novel is full of intelligence and insight about women, husbands, love, family loyalty and the conflicts that arise. This story has so many levels and layers it is like an onion - the more you peel off, the more you find

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You have a seemingly perfect marriage, two beautiful children, a gorgeous cliff-side home, and a husband known as an angel for his habit of saving the people that come to that cliff to end their lives. What could go wrong?

When one of those jumpers can’t be saved and falls to her death, secrets start to surface that threaten everyone involved.

I started this on a Saturday and neglected all of my responsibilities until I was finished. Sally Hepworth is one of my must-buy authors for a reason.

I can’t wait until this is available in the US, so I can grab a copy with that beautiful cover.

This one is definitely worth a preorder. Thank you to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for the review copy.
