This was so well written. I was engrossed from the first page and it ticked all the boxes of my expectations. The character development was excellent. I would definitely recommend to others, a must read!

Gabe and Pippa Gerard’s cliff house is a dream home for them, but a nightmare location for others.
As a known spot for people to take their lives, the police have become familiar with the Gerard family from Pippa's calls. Gabe has the ability to talk people off the ledge, until one day, a woman does not survive. When Pippa discovers Gabe knew the victim, she starts to see that day at the cliff in another light. What really happened?

The Soulmate hovered between present and past, with multiple perspectives and storylines. I wanted to like this novel, but the overall complexity of the spiderweb of deceit ended up falling apart in the final pages. None of the main characters were that likable and the plot did not flow well because of the constant time shifts. Having liked other books by this author, I would not recommend this particular novel to other readers.

Disclaimer: I was given an Advanced Reader's Copy by NetGalley and the publisher. The decision to read and review this novel was entirely my own.

Sally Hepworth is a god among authors. She really just hits the head on the nail every time! I love her books and this was no exception. Thriller Queen.

Gabe and Pippa bought their dream home. Little did they know that the cliff on their property is known as the suicide cliff. People come there to end their lives, but since Gabe and Pippa moved it, there have been no casualties. Gave has been able to talk everyone out of it until one day he couldn't.
Pippa was watching through the window as Gabe talked to the distraught woman. She got distracted momentarily, looked back at the scene, and the woman was gone!
After that,Gabe started acting strange, and Pippa began to uncover what really happened that night on the cliff.

I enjoyed this one. I love the authors writing style, and it kept me intrigued.

Pick this up if you're looking for a solid thriller. It held my interest and I liked the multiple perspectives it offered. I will say, however, that it wasn't my favorite from this author. It lacked a bit of the emotional depth that some of her other books brought to the table. In The Soulmate, we do get some scenic imagery, though. Overall, a good read but not a great read.

Sally Hepworth just keeps getting better and better, and at this point, she is easily one of my top auto-reads. I think anyone who has enjoyed Hepworth's previous books or loves a well-written thriller will gobble this one up.

@sallyhepworth is always a #mustread for me - solid #domesticsuspense and usually one character that I can pleasurably despise with a burning passion, along with plenty of #familydrama.

I LOVED this one. Short chapters and I absolutely flew through this one. The husband in this one - Gabe - earned his spot as the character that made me want to pull my hair out in this one - Pippa deserved an Olympic medal for everything she endured and her perseverance and dedication to her family. The setting in this one was also just oddly captivating and haunting.

This one centers around two couples and their journey together, all of which culminate in one tragedy, and only two of which seem to have truly found the rare gift of a soulmate in their lifetime.

Gabe is the picture perfect poster boy, All-American charmer, and his wife, Pippa seems to be baffled at his ability to win over others. Together with their two young daughters, they have recently moved to a new home. Unbeknownst to them, their cliff side home is a common site for suicides. While Gabe has become locally famous for talking strangers off of the cliffs with his unusual people skills, the couples’ lives are shattered when the first victim he can’t manage to talk down from the ledge turns out to be a woman from their past, whose return and subsequent death opens the floodgates and threatens to ruin them.

Then there is another couple - a more unorthodox couple - but one whose story in the end ended up capturing my heart and leading me to tears. A true testament to loyalty, love, and devotion, even when it is not packaged or defined in the traditional, romantic Notebook-esque lovey dovey sense.

Another fun twist: one of the points of view is that of the woman who jumps after her death. I was worried about how this would play out, but it was executed brilliantly.

The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth had me hooked right from the beginning. This novel is a twisty thriller, but it's also an alternating tale told by two wives of their marriage. Pippa and Amanda's voices kept me turning the pages. As the details of their marriages unfold the reader can't help but keep reading! The setting, the characters, the mystery -- I loved it all. Well done! I look forward to reading more by Sally Hepworth.

Thank you to Sally Hepworth, St. Martin's Press, and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this novel.

A thrilling, addictive novel about marriage, betrayal, and the secrets that push us to the edge.

Another solid domestic suspense by Sally. I love her style of writing - dysfunctional family suspense novels that are engaging, quick, and twisty. In The Soulmate, she touched on some more difficult and serious topics (mental health and postpartum depression) respectfully. While there were quite a few twists I did not see coming, this ultimately is a look at both the good and bad sides of marriages. Sometimes thriller endings leave you feeling unsatisfied, but I enjoyed both the climax/final twist and epilogue ending.

This was a great domestic thriller! It was my first Sally Hepworth book but it won’t be my last. She’s a great writer, the setting was perfect for this story. Even though the characters weren’t all that likable I still enjoyed reading it and finding out what was going to happen.

Sally Hepworth has become an auto-buy author. A quick psychological thriller with rather short chapters that keeps it moving even more quickly. This is the definition of domestic suspense.

Gabe and Pippa have a lovely home near a beach with a cliff. However, it seems that people come to this cliff to end their lives. Gabe had been known to save people by talking them off the ledge. But, one evening they see a woman standing on the cliff. Gabe is unable to save the woman. what ensues is a tangled web of lies and deceit because it seemed to Pippa that Gabe may have pushed the woman. Did Gabe know her? And, Gabe and Pippa each have some kind of connection to the woman. Did someone have a reason to want her dead?
This is another great novel by Sally Hepworth. I definitely recommend it.

So good I gobbled up this book in two days. The characters are complex—I was never sure who was good or bad. Pippin and Gabe seem to have an ideal marriage but it turns out to have darker secrets. I was very satisfied with how the ending was wrapped up.

Title: The Soulmate
Author: Sally Hepworth
Publisher: St. Martin’s Press
Genre: Domestic Suspense

Thank you again @macmillian.audio for the #alc This one is dual narrated by Barrie Kreinik and Jessica Douglas-Henry and they did a fantastic job with each of the characters.

Sally Hepworth is the queen of Domestic Suspense, but I just haven’t been jiving with the subject matters of her last few books. I just didn’t love the tropes of this one and on top of that found myself bored in the middle of it. On the positive side, I loved that it was a dual POV, and fast chapters, full of family, and had vivid scenery that I could just imagine in my mind!

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Take my review with a grain of salt. Maybe I’m just sensitive or picky. Lots of people are loving this book! Best wishes to the author of her American tour!

The Soulmate

Holy cow Sally knocked this one out. I’m still shocked with that ending! This is written from multiple perspectives. One of the perspectives is a dead woman which really made the story interesting.
Gabe and Pipa need a fresh start they purchase a house on a cliff that is right on the beach. Gabe has saved 7 people from committing suicide by jumping off the cliff since they moved in. He’s sorta become famous for it.

Unfortunately their marriage isn’t as great from the inside as it is on the outside. Gabe had an affair that produced a daughter just 6 month before Pipa gave birth. Pipa didn’t know until the mother passed and the daughter moved in with them. Gabe has also struggled with some significant mental health struggles which has also taken its toll.
While having dinner yet another person arrives to jump and Gabe leaps to his feet to work his magic only he knows this person. As Pipa is watching the scene take place from their kitchen window she can’t really tell what’s happened. Did the woman leave? Did she jump? Did Gabe push her? Gabe leaves out the fact that he knows this woman from the police, which makes the whole scene even more suspicious. As the story continues to unravel you learn more about each character which makes you question everything you think you know so far.
This is definitely at the top of my suspense list for the year.

Sally Hepworth's "The Soulmate" delves into the complex dynamics of marriage, betrayal, and the haunting power of secrets. With an enticing premise and a suspenseful narrative, this addictive novel keeps readers on their toes.

Gabe and Pippa are a seemingly happy couple who just moved into their dream cottage on a cliff in a quiet coastal town. However, their idyllic life takes a sinister turn when the nearby cliffs become a popular location for suicides. Night after night, Gabe rushes to save those contemplating ending their lives. But when Pippa uncovers Gabe's connection to one of the victims, doubts and questions arise. Did the victim jump, or was she pushed? As the truth unfolds, their seemingly perfect marriage begins to crumble, exposing deep-rooted secrets that threaten to tear them apart.

Hepworth skillfully builds tension and suspense throughout the novel, keeping readers engaged and guessing. The exploration of themes such as trust, loyalty, and the consequence of deception adds layers of complexity to the storyline. The book's focus on the psychological and emotional aspects of relationships enhances the sense of intrigue and provides thought-provoking moments.

Thank you to the publisher & Netgalley for my advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC of The Soulmate.

This was my 4th Sally Hepworth book and probably the one I enjoyed the most. Pippa and Gabe live in a home near a cliff. Unfortunately, this has become a spot where many go when wanting to end their life. Gabe has been successful in talking them down, all except one. This book is told through the POV of Pippa and the female who Gabe meets at the cliff. It also alternates between “then” and “now.” At first, I was worried that all the jumping around between POV and timing would be confusing, but I enjoyed it. Since it was written this way, it kept me wanting more because if a chapter had a cliffhanger, you’d have to read from the other POV before getting back to the cliffhanger. I wasn’t so sure I would enjoy some of storyline involving their jobs, but once some of the secrets started coming out I was hooked. This book also touches on some heavy topics that could be difficult for some to read, so I think having trigger warnings would be helpful.

LOVED this book! Sally Hepworth can do no wrong. Her storylines and writing are always so enjoyable and this one is no different. I loved the different points of views and even though there was a ghost aspect that I typically don’t like, the way she wrote it in was so great. The only problem with getting her ARC is that I have to wait that much longer for her next book to come out…
