What a beautiful read! I adore Sally Hepworth's works. The first book I read of her was The Good Sister from Library choice reads and after that there was no turning back. The Soulmate was a great read which revolved around life of Pippa and Amanda and their soulmates! It was fast-paced and compulsively readable from start to end. Thank you Netgalley for an advanced reader copy!

Holy cannoli, what !?!??! I can't stop thinking about The Soulmate... This was just so freaking good!

Sally Hepworth is the absolute queen of domestic suspense, and her latest release was no different. The Soulmate not only has a stunning cover but also an extremely twisty and tense inside as well. There were so many twists and reveals packed into this one which took me by surprise in the very best way.
I'm pretty much convinced that short chapters should be a requirement for books that want to move at a quicker story pacing, and Hepworth executed that perfectly with this one. Some of the best parts for me were the quick chapters and frequently shifting POV's (Pippa and Amanda) and timelines (before Amandas death and after). Getting told the pieces of a story from different perspectives with timelines both leading up to an event and afterwards are some of my very favorite, and made this one a quick read for me in just a few sittings.
The Soulmate was definitely more of a character study and really dives deep into the intricacies of marriage and committed relationships, but worked super well for me. If you enjoyed any of this authors previous books, especially The Younger Wife, I recommend picking this one up!
Thank you so much to Netgalley and St Martins Press for my early review copy!

Well this one came out of nowhere! I was no expecting to love it as much as I did! So well written and I truly couldn’t put it down- I finished in less than two days. The way the author layered on each piece of the story was truly genius!

Thank you, Sally Hepworth, @stmartinspress , and Netgalley for the gifted eARC.
Kat and Gabe live in a cottage by the edge of a cliff. That cliff is known as The Drop because many people have been known to go there to jump to kill themselves. Except when Kat and Gabe moved in, Gabe had gone out to talk everyone out of jumping. Until one day, he was unable to stop a woman from jumping. But Kat keeps wondering if the woman really jumped or if Gabe pushed her.
The Soulmate is my first Sally Hepworth novel, and it is definitely not my last. This thriller is so full of secrets and twists that you'll be guessing until the very end. There were so many places that I was talking out loud to my kindle that my husband was looking at me like I was crazy. I couldn't help it. I was either pissed at the characters, yelling at the characters, saying, "Oh no," or making my opinion known. I don't think I've ever been so vocal reading a non-horror genre book before. In other words, it's good, you should read this one. You won't be disappointed.

You don't know how many times I see this series of books in groups abroad. Everyone is singing its praises!
Really exciting and very catchy. :D Not to mention incredibly clever. Very worth reading, exciting and engrossing.

I seem to be in the minority, but this book was underwhelming to me. The pacing was strange, with the dual timeline and dual POV, and I didn't think the plot twists were very shocking. I did like the unique POV we get in this. I don't think I've encountered it before. And I did like the idea of this story. I just didn't think it was executed all that well. But based on all of the five star ratings, this is an unpopular opinion, so I definitely say to give it a try!

Have you ever began reading a book and then next thing you know, it's 5 hours later and you've lost the whole day? This book will do that to you.
Pippa & Gabe live a picture perfect life with their 2 daughters in their dream home.... or one would think. Their beautiful home with a "Millionaire walk" has a disturbing secret, it's located right next to a suicide spot called "The Drop." Gabe has saved 7 out of 8 people from jumping from their death and is known as a local hero to his family and the neighborhood. But no marriage is perfect and Everyone has secrets.
Pippa discovers that the victim was a woman, a woman both Gabe & Pippa knew. The question is, did she jump or was she pushed? By Gabe?
This is my first book by Hepworth and I can't wait to check out her other works. She sucks in her readers and drops little twists and turns along the way that keeps you completely engaged. This books touches on people with mental disorders in a big way and shows the toll it takes on those who surround them. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend. Thank you NetGalley for giving me an ARC.

Two women.
Now and then. Before and after.
One event that completely changed both their lives.
Sally describes this book as a murderous love story and I think that is probably the most spot on description. I don’t want to say to much to give it away. Personally, I always love going in blind to books like this because they are definitely better, the less you know … and I knew nothing.
But the short chapters and multiple twists had me flying through The Soulmate. The little glimpses of the past along the way had me dying to see what was going to happen. It was messy, but in the best possible way.
Sally Hepworth continues to be one of my favorites. This book may be close to the top, as one of my favorites!

I have read several of Sally Hepworth’s books and I always enjoy them - they are what I’d call domestic thrillers, nothing too gruesome and always exploring family dynamics.
The Soulmate explores what it means to be married. It’s a page turner like her others, with great character development. The plot moves along quickly and the chapters are short and suspenseful.
There were a few things that did not work for me though - one character’s point of view was told from a dead person/ghost, and while it was pretty well done, that always sort of bugs me. One plot line deals with mental illness sensitively (mostly), but I didn’t always appreciate how that person was portrayed. And while everything wrapped up neatly at the end, I wasn’t as invested in the story by then.
I did read this quickly and mostly enjoyed it. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy. The Soulmate publishes next month on April 4th.

Funny, convoluted, and suspenseful book about marriage and murder. Sally Hepworth has written a page turner that had me up at night reading “just one more chapter” to see what happens next. The alternating chapters from the two women which switched from before, after and now were very effective in telling the story a bit at a time as well as obscuring what would happen next. This is a keeper. Thank you to #netgalley and #stmartinspress for this arc of #thesoulmate to read and review-all opinions are my own.

This was a typical Sally Hepworth book with lots of twists and turns but I wasn’t as invested in this one. I wasn’t crazy about how it all turned out but there were some good page turning moments. If you need a quick domestic thriller, this may do the trick. Thanks to NetGalley for the advance copy.

Gabe and Pippa bought the house of their dreams. The view out their window was a seaside cliff edge. The spot was known to the locals as a place they could jump to their death. Since they have been in the house there have been seven people that Gabe has saved. Now the eighth person is standing on the cliff edge. Gabe goes out to talk to the woman and Pippa goes for the telephone. Everything happens so fast and when Pippa looks again, Gabe is standing alone with his arms out. What happened to the woman?
The book has a fast pace, the characters are developed, and it is written in the first-person point of view. This is the third book I have read by this author. Her writing style is flawless and always leaves me wanting more. She writes with a descriptive style that pulls the reader into the story as another character. If you like dramas with quirky characters and unusual settings, you will enjoy reading this book.

Thanks to Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press for this ARC. I love Sally Hepworth. She writes such twisted books. This one certainly did not disappoint. A woman shows up at The Drop. Gabe has been used to talking people off that ledge and was unsuccessful with this one. The book alternates between the points of view or the girl - past and present- and Gabe’s wife Pippa - past and present. Hepworth does a great job weaving the stories and slowly releasing all the connections. I just couldn’t put this one down.

The Soulmate has a great setting, with a house on the cliff side which is site to many suicide attempts. But when Gabe, the homeowner goes out to stop a woman from jumping, he ends up not being able to save this one. Then it is discovered he knew the women. His wife Pippa, has many questions and is fearful that the woman didn’t really jump, and what will happen when the police discover the connection.
This book was great! It was exactly what I expected from Sally Hepworth. A lot of family drama, some great twists, some twists that were very obvious early on. I loved the different perspectives and I thought it was clever to add the POV from the woman that jumped, both before and after death. There is a lot of back and forth to before the jump and after, to help the book come together. Very well done!

Secret and lies were all over this one. It kept the pages turning and I had to find out what was going on. The story was told over multiple perspectives and different timeframes and it kept me guessing. One of the POVs was dead, which was interesting, but not my favorite of the POVs. Overall, an entertaining and fast paced read.

There's something to be said for a book that is just a fun, quick, and enjoyable read.
The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth is one of those books that feels familiar and cozy in how it sets up the story, but never quite gets to the point where it becomes so predictable that you give up on the entire book. The first chapter is absolutely gripping and the short chapters with alternating perspectives that follow really propel you through this story of slowly unraveling secrets. Did it completely blow me away with insane twists and pulse-pounding action? No. Did I still have a really good time? Absolutely!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review!

My favourite Sally books are The Good Sister and The Mother in Law. I was flying through this one until about 50% but then the last half didn't hit the mark. I enjoyed this one more than The Younger Wife last year and I will continue to give her books a chance.

This was the twisty, page-terming thriller I hoped it would be! I was captivated how the story unfolded with dual person perspectives from both ‘then’ and ‘now.’ This one flows effortlessly, and was intriguing and suspenseful.
