Sally Hepworth really hit it out ot the park with thos one. I read it in 2 sittings (kids and husband get in the way of my reading) . The story is told by the two wives involved un a before and after incident. Amanda is dead, but in between the after life and watching what is going on. Gabe and Pippa are married. Gabe works for a huge media mogul named Max (Amanda's husband) Amanda shows up one night to Gabe and Pippa Cliffside home and falls to her death. Gabe was outside with her talking before this happens. The police want to know the truth if she jumped or was pushed. Pippa has her doubts as well, as soon as she learns that Amanda is the wife of Gabe's former boss. Who Pippa coincidentally almost slept with. There are secrets that slowly come to light at the end of this book. The truth comes out about Gabes illegal activities and why Max hired him in the first place to qork for him. This is a strong 5 star read, you will not be disappointed.

I love Sally Hepworth. Her books never disappoint!! The Soulmate has so many twists and turns I didn't see coming so it kept me on my toes the entire time! I will read anything by Sally anytime!

Plot twist after plot twist, along with multiple POVs and flashbacks made this one a super enjoyable read that I devoured in a day and a half. It's the perfect blend of psychological thriller and family drama -- Sally Hepworth does it again.

OMG!! I was SO excited to get this ARC from one of my favorite authors that I immediately dropped everything and began reading! I have read all of her books and did not think anything could top The Good Sister. The Soulmate did just that! Gabe and Pippa move to a clifftop house. They quickly learn that their particular cliff is popular for suicides. Gabe becomes good at talking people off the ledge, until he doesn't. He had ties to this person. Was it an accident? Or DUN DUN DUN.......MURDER??? What follows is a super-fast-paced story that NEVER lets up! The story is told in extremely quick, easy to read chapters. The characters shouldn't be likeable, but they are, and there are several points of view. One character in particular, was very interesting. Shades of The Lovely Bones. I loved this one and can't say enough good things! Can't wait for the next one!

The Soulmate is a story about a family of four who live in a cliffside house which also happens to be a popular site for suicidal people. The husband has managed to talk down several people from taking their lives, until one day when a woman falls to her death.

From the moment of her death, the story is told through two POV's, the wife and the dead woman. The timeline alternates from past to present for both of them, and what is revealed is never confusing, just huge with twists and turns and surprises from start to finish. This novel was such a page turner, I'm giving it a pure 5* and not a 4.5* like I usually do, due to it's lack of glaring holes and the unpredictability of the reveals. Well done!

Really enjoyed this domestic thriller! Lots of twists and loved the dual timeline of the two POV’s. I was invested from the beginning and trying to figure out what was going to happen. I couldn’t put this down as I needed to see how it ended!

Where do I even begin? I dropped everything to crack this one open- which was completely worth it. Sally’s books are always packed full of so many different layers. You get drama. Laughs. Suspense. All sorts of different emotions will rise up. Plus closure- everything always makes perfect sense in the end. The i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed. The Soulmate is no different than her others, another knock out of the park. You’ll feel for these characters- it’s one big, twisted, web that will have you teetering over the edge. And believe me, you won’t be the only one going over the edge. (WHEW!) What would you do for your Soulmate? How far would you go? When is enough, enough? When it came down to it, would you choose your Soulmate… or yourself? What if they weren’t actually your Soulmate at all? This book gives you a look into the trials of marriage, deceit, trust, loyalty, mental illness and murder… Gabe and Pippa. Max and Amanda. Two couples with stories, secrets, and connections that you’ll never guess. it’s 10 minutes until midnight and I’m sitting here writing a review. Yes, you’ll end up choosing to read rather than sleep. And you won’t regret it.

This was a decent suspense novel about a suicide that may not have been a suicide after all. I was super into this for a while, but it went a different way than I was hoping and turned into a different type of mystery. More of a personal preference thing, as the writing was good and the characters were compelling. I just find this particular type of mystery/twist kind of boring.

Such a well written domestic thriller! This story tactfully explores mental health issues and the impact they can have on a marriage and family.

Hepworth’s characters are so realistic - their desires, their struggles, their relationships. The pacing in this book was perfect with the short chapters, alternating POVs, and the jumping timeline. I was completely engaged in the story from start to finish. Highly recommend!

This book was thoroughly enjoyable! It’s my 4th book by this author and I love how her stories unfold. We meet Pippi and Gabe, a married couple with 2 young daughters who live near a cliff. We meet another married couple, Max and Amanda. They share some secrets.

Amanda is seen at The Spot, the place by the cliff where people jump to their deaths. She’s there with Gabe. Gave has a history of literally talking people off the edge but he can’t save Amanda. Pippa sees it all happen and senses there’s more to the story than “she jumped.”

Told from alternating points of view and both past and present, the truth unfolds slowly and perfectly.

It instantly grabbed me and I read it in 2 days. Highly recommend!

Themes include marriage, secrets, lies, and mental illness.

I’m sort of sorry to tell you how much I enjoyed Sally Hepworth’s new book because it doesn’t officially release until April 4, 2023. Definitely add it to your book lists though!

Sally Hepworth can write a dang domestic drama my friends. The Soulmate was so good. Plot twists around every corner. Some leaving my mouth wide open.

I liked the dual POV and narration from past and present to build the story.

I knocked it down to 4 stars because the last real twist didn’t do it for me. I still loved the book though.

I loved the multiple viewpoints - especially Amanda’s. I also enjoyed how realistic the characters are- I can totally relate to their actions and behaviors. Definitely recommend!

This book was filled with phenomenal plot twists! I loved the different point of views from the characters, also the past and present perspectives that never got confusing or overwhelming. From the first chapter you are sucked into the story and I absolutely loved the short chapters that kept you wanting more. There are definitely some triggers in this book ex: mental illness, suicide, murder but overall very important topics that were touched on in an impactful way. The book showed how far someone’s love and loyalty and lack of perspective can take situations and spiral. I loved the ending and how everything was neatly tied in place, it wasn’t rushed and I wasn’t left with questions. Loved it!

I was absolutely thrilled to be sent this book to review because I love Sally Hepworth. This is another book of hers that did not disappoint. It is a domestic thriller centered around a married couple that live in a house by a cliff that is famous because people go there to commit suicide. How Pippa’s husband Gabe has been able to talk everyone off the cliff except for one person and that person happens to be a woman it turns out that he knows. The book then really weaves you through the history of Pippa and Gabe and what they’ve been through as a couple and what Gabe has been through individually. Through it all she has a very supportive family that has not only supported her but has fully supported her husband through every trouble that he has brought to the table. The suspense of this book is not knowing if there is a more sinister reason Gabe couldn’t or didn’t save the woman at the cliff and if so why? There is also the added voice of the woman herself that has jumped/been pushed from the cliff. I really loved her chapters and loved hearing everything from her point of view. I found her to be completely compelling. I loved the twists and turns of this book. Be sure to add to your TBR!

This book! What a page turner! I was not expecting to love this one as much as I did. This physiological thriller keeps you on the edge of your seat, with lots of action, secrets, and twists!

I loved the alternating perspectives and dual timelines between Pippa and Amanda. I found it so interesting and intense whenever it switched POVs. I went in blind with this one and was not once disappointed.

The characters were addicting, the story was unique, and the guessing game kept things interesting! If you're looking for a fast pace thiller/mystery I wouldn't miss out on this one!

The Soulmate
I enjoyed this book as a light thriller. There was a mystery and there was doubt. There was infidelity and a love child. There was murder and there was suicide.
While I’ve never read a thriller before, this one sparked my interest and held my interest the entire time I was reading. Twists and turns on every page, I was determined to find out what REALLY happened as soon as possible.
So here I am, less than a full day later, writing this review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and that it kept me on my toes. I appreciated that while it was intense at time, it didn’t keep me up at night.
I’m looking forward to reading more from Sally Hepworth!

I have enjoyed every book I’ve read by Sally Hepworth, so I was excited to receive this ARC. The Soulmate is a twisting thriller told from the perspective of two women: Pippa and Amanda. We learn right away that Amanda is deceased, but what we don’t know is if Pippa’s husband is responsible for Amanda’s death.

Gabe is a model father: he’s involved, loving, tons of fun. He’s handsome. Pippa and Gabe have a great sex life. They live in their dream beach home. But when Amanda commits suicide right outside that dream home, Pippa starts to question what she saw. Pippa’s search for answers creates ever-greater uncertainty. And yet, she loves him unconditionally. How far will she go to protect him? And really, who is protecting who? (Is it Gabe protecting Pippa?)

There are so many surprises and plot twists. I was on the edge of my seat this whole read! The short chapters and quickly moving storyline make for a great, fast read. I really liked this, highly recommend, can’t wait for the next Sally Hepworth!

Review: The Soulmate by Sally Hepworth is a page turning domestic thriller perfect for fans of Ruth Ware and Liane Moriarty. Told in dual POV, this novel will take you on a journey trying to figure out what really happened at ‘The Drop.’ Hepworth truly has written another masterpiece. I devoured this book. Not only is it a domestic thriller but a tragic love story showing many sides of marriage, good and bad. The many twists and turns were immaculate and the final twist had my jaw on the floor. It was definitely one I never saw coming! All in all I would give The Soulmate 4.5 stars!
